• Objective:
o Goal: Provide opportunities for advanced studies and research in AICTE-approved institutions.
• Number of Fellowships:
o Total Fellowships: 200 per year
• Duration of Fellowship:
o Tenure: Initially 1 year, extendable to 2 years based on satisfactory progress.
• Eligibility:
o Scholars:
 Ph.D. Holders: Relevant subjects/disciplines.
 Marks: Minimum 55% for General category; 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PWD.
 Age: Below 35 years (relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/Women/PWD, 3 years for OBC).
 Single Use: Fellowship can be availed only once.
 Supervisor: Must identify a supervisor and obtain a No Objection Certificate.
o Supervisor:
 Approval: Must be an approved Ph.D. guide.
 Status: Not superannuated; regular faculty or professor of practice.
 Qualification: Must have a Ph.D. degree.
o Research Centre:
 Approval: AICTE approved University/Institution.
• Nature of Assistance:
o Emoluments:
 Fellowship: Rs. 65,000/- per month
 Contingency: Rs. 50,000/- per year (miscellaneous research expenditures)
o Conditions:
 DA: Not entitled
 HRA: Provided as per Central Government norms if hostel accommodation is not available
 Medical: Avail facilities available in the institution
 Leave: As per university/institution norms
• Application Process:
o Portal: Apply throughout the year
o NOC: Upload No Objection Certificate from research centre
o Incomplete Applications: Rejected
• Selection Procedure:
o Evaluation: Based on Ph.D. accomplishment, supervisor's standing, and institution's quality.
• Joining Procedure:
o Joining Period: Within one month of award letter (extendable to 3 months)
o Commencement: From actual date of joining
• Monitoring of Fellowship:
o Assessment: Half-yearly at institute level, annually at AICTE level
o Progress Reports: Submit annually
• University/Institute Responsibilities:
o Facilities: Provide infrastructure, office space, research lab
o Nodal Officer: Assign a faculty as the PDF interface
o Attendance: Mark monthly for fellowship disbursement
o Verification: Regularly verify submitted information
o Encouragement: Promote socially/economically weaker sections
o Discontinuation: Update AICTE portal immediately
