It is easier to remove the cup warmer first so that you can ease out the two rubber fittings from inside .I have put insulation around the boiler on mine also .

Has anyone the idea, why produces my one a different-speed extraction? 10-15 sec normal, but in 15-30 sec the speed is increasing. Tamper, portafiler, distributor are OK.

Hi t, as the extraction proceeds the coffee puck gives up solids so it presents less restriction to water flow and flow rate increases. Sound like you need to grind a little finer.

Hello wholelattelove. What is the function of this high limit?

Hi HK, Thanks for the question. High limits sense temperature. If temps get to high the cut power to boiler heating elements.

Why not just not turn on the heat until after the boiler is filled? There is a separate switch for the heating element on the front panel...

Can you convert this type of machine to be plumbed in?

I converted my Epoca tank machine into plumbed in (it's an older one from last decade). I removed the connection from the vibe pump internally and screwed on a hose to an external rotary pump and motor. I then wired the motor into the control board where the vibe pump was connected.
However, this was many many years ago, so I'm a little hazy on the details!
It's been perfectly reliable so far, and I can always convert it back if needed.
