- Speed test with the Toro TIMECUTTER to answer - How long does it take to mow 3/4 or 0.75 acre. We use the Timecutter with the 60-inch deck to take on 3/4 of an acre of our yard. I used Google Earth and the measure tool to figure out how much I needed to mow to make approximately .75 acres. #purplecollarlife #timecutter #outdoorgans

Yes it was! Almost too fast. I'm glad I have a larger lawn to spend more time on the mower. If we only had 3/4 acre, 30 minutes of mowing time simply wouldn't be enough enjoyment for me. :)

I received my Timecutter late last week however, it is just a tad to early to mow yet. (Michigan)
So I am practicing on the Concrete because my lawn is fragile right now and the mower can tear it up if you are not careful.
You're going to love it! I was in Michigan just last week - near the Saginaw Bay. It looks like the grass is starting to green up a little bit.
Interesting topic Chad. Watching the lawn care companies around my place, they run their zero turns at full forward all the time. I bet they put on more wear faster that way.
I've seen some lawn care groups really work a machine hard. I need mine to last longer than a year or two. :)

Too fast for me - I enjoy the mowing time too much! Even if I duplicated myself (like Michael Keaton in Multiplicity) - I'd still do the mowing. :)
Can you get a box or bag for that type of mower ? Some mower to get true work
I've seen some people with a bagging system on the Toro zero turn mowers. Where we live, I'd be needing to dump the clips too often. Plus - I like to let the cut grass re-fertilize the lawn. Though - if the grass gets too high, a bagger would be nice to avoid needing to rake or cut multiple times.

Nice video. How much gas did you use? I just bought a 50 inch time cutter with the Kawasaki engine which is a gas hog compared to my cub cadet 50 inch deck tractor with the 7000 series Kholer engine. I used to burn 2 gallons for 20,000 sq ft with the Kholer engine. I use a little over 3 gallons with the Kawasaki.
Great question. I didn't keep track. I'll do that next time. But you're right - these do seem to use gas! I noticed when I mowed with the John Deere 2210, I didn't need to refill as much. I think that's for multiple reasons: Obviously, it has a bigger tank and I think the diesel is more efficient. I never really kept track on other mowers, but I do remember that the Ford 9N with finish mower used a lot of gas too when mowing.
All depends on how many things you have to go around, terrain,smooth/ rolling/ rough, etc.
Excellent point, Mike. I would venture that the more things you have to mow around, the more time it takes, but also the more differential there is between a zero turn mower and a regular lawn mower. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Not much can beat a zero turn! I would not enjoy trying to mow with my bx23s. Sits up too high and and beats the crap out of you on bumpy terrain. I have a big dog alpha mp with the 54" deck and it flies!
