That was a great video! The best statement I heard was that you all are Top Tier Welders with different styles and methods, but getting the work done at the highest level and quality. I've been a welder longer then all of you except Bob have been alive, and I'm proud to say I learn from everyone of y'alls videos. I'm not afraid to learn from young pups. I wish we had more pups like you in our industry to carry on the metalworking industry as a whole. Goodonya!
Been welding for a lot of years...50 plus, so it's getting time to retire. Great to know there are folks out there with the passion to keep the trade alive. Loved the video. I still can't pronounce that young man's name, but he's a joy to watch.
Y’all needed me in this episode !!!!!!!!! South Alabama and South Mississippi got the best Pipe and boiler welders in the world!!!!!!!!! Everybody knows this!!!!!!! South Texas and Tulsa Oklahoma ain’t too bad either!!!!!!!
Damn you can pull the big names mate!!! Soon as i see the arc welds i think about Bobs videos where he talks about keyholes. Wish i was a fly on the wall that day!
Absolutely great video guys! The pacing on the videoing and filming was just right. And while I usually don’t like music in these videos (and from comments I read all over, neither do a lot of people), this worked very well. It was actually pretty exciting!
You guys teach me a lot. The guys at my job criticize me because I watch you guys. They tell me you can't learn by watching videos. They say you learn by doing it yourself. I don't think that's all true. Thank you anyways. Sorry for my English not so good.
Crazy thing is the guys at my school and at the jobs around here all told me watching videos is good. My girlfriends stepdad is a pipeline welder and he says watching videos still helps him alot
I’ve learned a lot from watching others. You don’t know what you don’t know. If you don’t watch someone else do something you want to do, and no one is there to teach you, how will you know what to practice? Likewise I’ve learned a lot of what not to do by watching others and have avoided making a lot of the same mistakes.
@@rolltide2937 thats true but burn them correctly is always helpful having a someone there like a journey man seeing your work or else I'll be burning and burning and i wont tell if its correct
Its a crazy motley crew southcoast welding put together. Been watchin travis since 2012, helluva a trchnical operator. But all you dudes in one bay...lmao...thass crazy😂
Too many talent on this episode, good job hjalmar....now can y'all show everybody welding stainless pipe without a purge? But of course using filler metal with flux on the root and bare on succeeding pass....also the tricks on how to avoid those flux sticking on your tungten
Love your guys stuff, super educational! Was just wondering if you guys could do a tutorial on dual TIG welding? Just done a job welding up 316 Stainless casings, one of us fusing the inside with another feeding wire on the outside. Just curious on what your guys approach to such a task would be!
Find " Pill" Randy Epps from round Stephenville, Tx. I believe . The man is a machine ,a Platinum Arm. Loop tube welds run from this man. Get a demo of this action. He is unreal folks.
Alberta can definitely show'm. Wild Rose Country is amazing and I enjoy seeing the welders coming out from there. Thanks to TF for traveling all the way to Htown. Thanks for sharing guys.
Hi weld tube channel i saw your healthy compition an i am enjoying to see Al you video my name AkASH i want ask something about the pipe welding after you weld a pipe an if you want see our check of thier is no lekage in the weld how do guy do that test because i have seen one your video where you are welding a plate after you finish you did a bending test on the plate that doesn't have a crack our something
hello my name is sheraz i am from pakistan i looking u video you use stick rod root 2.2mm6010 rod and caping rod use 3.2mm7018 rod why u welding up to down and iam use tig welding root and filling caping 7018 mm rod
Sheraz Mughal it’s a American pipeline procedure it’s out dated but we still use this method in the US to weld gas & oil transmission lines throughout the United States it’s fast and cost effective and the code is very lenient toward defeats.... very few schools teach this but a few here in the states still do it’s a art to be able to make this weld look good and pass x-ray!!!!!!
Sheraz Mughal it depends on the code but here in the states you can make this weld with the E6010 5p+ all the way out 3/32 gap and a 30 degree bevel with a very light landing on the face of the bevel we use the thickness of a small coin to get a good land about the thickness of a dime or Rupee in Pakistan. 1/8 or 5/32 Electrode for the root and hot pass and 5/32 or 3/16 electrode for the fill and cap all down hill progression !!!!! We use other rods also for the fill and cap but it all depends on the service of the pipe 7010 & 8010.....there are two different types of E6010 a red coated rod that’s used for iron are structural and the E6010 5P+ its a uphill or downhill rod for pipe ... the E6011 is a more common Electrode used outside the US because it’s a AC or DC Electrode not ideal for this procedure but if you have them they also can be used for practice but very difficult to make look good on AC but it can be done!!!!!!!!! If you look around TH-cam you may find someone giving a proper demonstration on how this downhill procedure is done Hope that helps !!!!!!! Sorry but all I know is inches we don’t use the metric system here much!!!!!!!!!

Never welded with 8010, does it weld more like 6010 or 7018? Or just not comparable?
How do you know when to raise or lower the settings mid weld?
Do they sell those bad ass weld tube (wt) welding shirts ?

So many great things about this video. And then you don't show the cap or root.
Why bother.

lol at the imperial system. what does 3/32 and 3/16 even mean.
clive ramsbotty 3/32 is equal to 2.38mm and 3/16 is equal to 4.76mm hope that helps.
It’s the size of the electrode
thanks, it always confuses me because i'm not used to it and the numbers don't go up in linear fashion. i guess you just learn it after a while
