Great demo Shane looks great. Sounds even better. We can get Artist in the UK but everything is out of stock at the moment. It's listed as £99 with a bunch of accessories which is crazy . Kids getting in to guitar today are so fortunate compared to what was available back when I was starting out in the 70s.

They appear to be a victim of their own success, I’m in the UK and all the decent stuff is ALWAYS out of stock!
It took me about 2 years to find the LP59 in stock!
It’s a great guitar and I’m glad I persisted but FFS Artist, get your act together and either borrow some money or get an investor so that you can afford to carry realistic levels of stock!
The only reason I persisted was because I have several guitars otherwise I would have bought something else!
God knows how many sales they lose but must be lots!

I'm in the US and left-handed. Choices are limited right now to ST, TC and a Jazzmaster style but all are sold out as well. I wish some of these companies would produce a Mustang or Jaguar style (left-handed of course and hopefully in something other than black or white).

I recently bought one of these at half price because it was a customer return with a supposed wiring issue. I only wanted it to harvest the body to use with some parts I have. It arrived working perfectly. I've had the same experience Shane has had - Perfect fretwork, stays in tune. Can't fault it. I'm gonna keep looking for a Strat body for my other project. Would be a waste to pull this one apart.

Artist Guitars is making great guitars and amps at a great price! My only wish is that they can have more items available for the North American market. Along with the Tweed Tone 20 (which I am kicking myself for not buying sooner) this S-style guitar is a perfect entry for a new player. I wonder if Artist would team up with a store like Southpaw Guitars or Jerry’s Lefty Guitars to help get there awesome instruments in our hands in the States?🤔🤔🤔
      Great jam Shane!!🎸🎸🎸🎸👍🏾👍🏾

I guess it comes down to less volume in the lefty-specific parts ordered, like the bridge, nut, pots, and pickups.

Been an Artist guitars customer for many years now.
Apart from the great instruments, their customer service is fantastic, if there's something wrong, they make it right.
Free Shipping is a big bonus, and now they have UK and US warehouses I have already sent Grungemasters to 2 friends (one UK and one US) as presents and both are rapt (wanted them to experience some P90 love 😉)
I bought my son their Strat kit for christmas so I can teach him setup, maintenance and some finishing skills without fear of messing up one of his (or my) more expensive guitars and was so impressed I bought another last week to do some experimental finish work.

Great review Shane. A couple years ago I bought a righty version of this exact guitar for my son to learn on. I had a go on it and I couldn’t put it down. I’ve got some fairly premium (including “Prestige”) gear to use as reference and this little cheapie stands up to scrutiny. I got another STH for myself. Same story-well-made and finished with a wide selection of tones, good pickups, nicely- finished frets, easily setup with low action/no buzzing, and the neck shape is a nice, slim 1960’s ish profile. I’ve still got both of them and they get used regularly. Since then I’ve got the vintage white ST62 and the new one with the HSS/nickel humbucker cover/2 point trem and roasted maple neck. They would be Great guitars at twice the price, and represent unbelievable value.

Bought the exact same Artist guitar (right-handed model) about three months ago. Super pleased with it - stays in tune, easy to play even with tiny hands, not too heavy, a variety of tones. Admittedly, mine doesn't sound as good as yours, but I suspect that's to do with my lousy playing. :-)

I have two Artist guitars now: the BCHY which is a Gibson 355 copy ('cept better) and the Telecaster with dual bullbuckers, which is like a early fifties Blackguard Tele ('cept better). They are both *astonishingly* good guitars: high quality, perfect attention to finish, the best harmonics and intonation I've ever experienced on any guitar. Sound, looks, playability - all excellent. And so inexpensive!

A local luthier is building Gibson / Fender replicas from old compressed telephone directories, the sonic harmonic overtones and sustain increase in richness as the volume increases, a few Nashville session men are already using them and they've become an industry secret ,not for long though. The cats out of the bag, same with these "Artist" instruments, exquisite sonically and play like butter, played clean thru a cranked Hiwatt stack you can marvel at the increase in tonal quality, so much they surpass pre- CBS Fenders and pre-Norlin era Gibsons making them sonically defunct.Even the cases off the original pre script era logo models with the tweed tolex and teddy bear fur are being snapped up without the guitars .I hear Eric Johnson is using them on his current album citing them as sonic miracles, and we all know how anal EJ is about tone...I got one off Santa for Xmas and my playing has progressed exponentially beyond my perceived aspirations .I hear they're working on stradavarius replicas, leaving the woods soaking in local canals to absorb the elements then retrieving them and drying them painstakingly with hair dryers set on medium hot at different intervals for maximum effect.
Ok ,enough bollocks ,if we allow our ears and our hands to adapt to sub standard sonic disparities/ anomalies that thru a LOUD CLEAN amp become blatantly apparent ,we compromise our standards to our own detriment .It's ok to get cheap gear on a budget and play thru a line 6 or peavey viper but to even attempt to convince tone Connesuirs that they're somehow comparable is ludicrous.

But by far it’s greatest feature is it’s split coil pickups, the tonal possibility’s on this thing are infinite. I also have a Telecaster inspired T59, also featuring the split coil bullbuckers, but think it could greatly benefit from a 72 Delux style setup with seperate tone and volume controls to take full advantage of it’s split coils. I get it’s about price etc but think it would be a great option in the future

Artist make music affordable for most people. I’ve bought some pedals from them and they sound great. I had an Ibanez TS808 Tube Screamer and a Boss SD1. I sold the Tube Screamer which costs a hell of a lot more than the SD1 as I like the SD1 better so it’s all personal choice. My point is cheap is not necessarily bad and can be great. I might do a DIY guitar kit soon as it’s so cheap and I get to pick the colour I want.

I have a question unrelated to the video, at the moment I have a left handed Mexican strat but I’m looking for a cheaper backup guitar (strat style) I was thinking a hss pickup configuration but that’s not set in stone. As a fellow lefty what guitar would you recommend?

A very authentic Les Paul copy!

Everyone I talk to for advice says I should steer clear of this guitar, and I don't know if they're just saying that because they assume that it's rubbish because of the price. But here in NZ the Pac012 is more than double the price, Pac112V more than triple. Can it really be so good at the price?
