@@WastedTalent83 - Whenever someone starts talking about "the best Final Fantasy game ever," I laugh to myself when hearing any answer other than Tactics. 😆
@@WastedTalent83 - Fair point, Andrea. I suppose I'm a bit tender because I've had that talk and shared how I feel FFT is the best ever, and then have had people reply, "No, I mean a REAL Final Fantasy game." I think that just enhanced my appreciation for an experience that was already top notch for me.
"Don't blame us. Blame yourself or God". Delita is so underrated as a villain. Maybe for the fact that you never get to settle scores with him. His ending scene however, perfectly outlines who he really was and what he became. A hollow king. I loved this version of his theme. Like many FFT songs, it is peaceful yet haunting. Maybe it's just my impression after playing the game and being familiar with the plot, but this song has a mix of hope and melancholy, very fitting to the character it represents. This piano version was very suitable to underline this for me. Keep up the great work on those FFT themes.
Schadenfreude He hovers somewhere around anti-hero and light villain IMO. Such a wonderfully fleshed out character. FF Tactics is well remembered but IMO still not as respected as it should be. All around it's one of the best games ever made. Great art style and graphical effects, one of the greatest scores ever, deep, challenging gameplay, excellent writing.
I couldn't agree more, on all counts. Tactics is always overlooked in discussions regarding mainline Final Fantasies, and though it got a second game and War of the Lions is a quality remake, there doesn't seem to be any further indication we'll be getting a strategy-based FF along those lines again. It's a real shame. I'm so glad at least to meet other fans of this game, it is criminally underappreciated.
Funny, I always considered Delita the main villain of FFT... Let me try to explain why. While St. Ajora is the last boss, and your main enemies are the Lucavi and their human hosts, the main theme of FFT was how those in power manipulate the truth to advance their goals. In that sense, Delita is the figure that manipulated everyone to his own ends, ultimately becoming the king. The schemer who beat all the other schemers in their own game. Ramza, on the other hand, was an honest man. He was relatable not because of his heroism, but because of his honesty. He refused to follow his elder brother's plots, he refused to be a pawn in a chess board, and went his own way, merely trying to do what he thought was right, and trying to protect those he deemed important on the way - often failing. And still he was used by others, until the very end. His acts of heroism and sacrifice were stolen, and he was written in history as a heretic. So, Delita and Ramza are the two opposite sides of the coin. Delita was a commoner that betrayed his sister's memory to achieve power, while the other was a noble who refused to abandon virtue, even if for that he had to give up his nobility. And the ending outline this. While Ramza's fate after the battle against St. Ajora is uncertain, we are given a hopeful glimpse of he and Alma riding away. Delita, on the other hand, achieves all the power he wanted, but for what? After being stabbed by Ovelia - and killing her in return - he questions this himself. And in the end WE know who was the true hero, after all.
A shame indeed. One of the finest RPGs ever made, and I played many. The story was complex without becoming a mess, it had an incredible cast of characters, a stellar soundtrack, and a plot touching so many interesting themes that I don't understand why Square never released a more modern remake after the PSP one. Then again, Square always seems to ignore the games that I love (FFT, Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger).
Izlude battle theme into Delita's theme? What a spectacular combo. That makes this one my favorite. I LOVE them both and your playing is such a gift. Again. Thank you. ^.^
ahh thank you very much for your kind words Tiago!!!! and it's ok, views don't matter to me, otherwise I would be doing FFXV lol (which I am working on as well ahahaha), I just feel like youtube is oversaturated with many amazing pianists doing the official FF piano collections stuff so I don't really want to add to that haha. I'd rather try to bring more visibility to a game and OST I absolutely LOVE and doesn't get enough love. It means a lot getting so many nice comments from fellow Tactics fans, that makes it all worth it! =)
Wow... one of my favorite songs in one of my favorite games too. Never realized how amazing it could sound arranged by you like this! Delita's theme at the end is such a brilliant natural progression.
Stunning rendition of Under the Stars, I got goosebumps towards the end. It's absolutely an underrated and underappreciated piece of music. It's only used twice in the game, once during a side quest battle, but both times it's used, it hits where it counts. Thanks for reminding me about what a wonderful game this was, wish that rumored remake was confirmed to be reality.
Spoilers(????) Yeah. Delita was right. To hold power, to protect, to bring peace... his actions weren't meaningless. In perspective, he was needed. He was a hero, but not a lot of people go through that much with their hands clean, that's understandable. I... don't know, but I still think I would follow Ramza's footsteps. Since an optimist - an idealist - can only hope for the best, and go for it. Granted, his sister was alive, he had hope. Their missions were different: to find and protect, and to bring justice (and, arguably, vengeance).
I think Matsuno would disagree, especially considering the ending. In addition, Ramza's contribution was more significant. If he had failed, Delita couldn't have succeeded, either.
@@raoinshishiza152 Ramza had 0% mystical help throughout the storyline. Its one of the reasons he is such a relatable MC. Both he and Delita are basically normal guys from 2 different walks of life that both did what they thought they had to to do what was right.

You have to play the game. Best game I've ever played. Still makes me cry inside thinking about the storyline and music. Powerful
you are amazing as always :)
thanks so much!! you're always so supportive and i really appreciate it.
AMAZING!
thanks! it was a fun arrangement to write!
This is really beautiful! I've always been a long time fan of FFT and it's music so I am so happy I stumbled upon your page. One day, if you ever have the time, I'd love to see what you come up with if you ever do the song titled, " In Pursuit" !
AHHH MAAAAAN I LOVE MEETING OTHER PEOPLE WHO LOVE TACTICS AS MUCH AS I DO
That was epic
old school always remember
HNG FIRST
WILL EDIT LATER FOR MORE IN DEPTH COMMENT
EDIT:
So, I've not actually played the game thus I'm unfamiliar with the OST and this piece as well. The theme itself is nice. Sounds very pensive, which I feel is fitting for a tactics RPG, especially one - from what I've heard - that is a very provoking story.
Your playing is lovely as usual and your hands/fingers look beautiful when you're performing.
I'll have to check out the original version to comment on the arrangement that you did yourself! Bravo for that, btw.
LMAO congrats sir
ahahaha thank you Jairus!!!!!! yeah I need more practice arranging solo piano stuff. It's a different beast from strings ahahahaha. thank you for your kind words! at some point, and I know you're mostly likely backlogged to hell with games like I am LMAO, please DO play Tactics. It is an amazingly fun, intense tactical RPG with a very deep and intelligent story. I actually started playing the FE series because someone told me it was like FFT (I was disappointed that it wasn't, but grew to like the series on its own merit). Speaking of FE, did you finish Echoes?? It was SUCH A GREAT GAME OMG
You have to play the game. Best game I've ever played. Still makes me cry inside thinking about the storyline and music. Each theme procures a vivid memory of each character's story and role in the game. I think the game should be reworked into a play/movie/show but that might taint it. I played it when I was 13 and I'm 22 now. Favorite game ever.
why the heck does this not have more views
ooooh i like this one
Whoa mygudnes
Memories of this game as a kid😢 the older I get the farther I get away from the days when life was simple.
nice !
