What struck me the most about this interview was Costas' willingness to listen and respond earnestly to Stark, even being playful with him, as his subject. You can see Stark is a bit reticent, struggling to express his words, even as he wraps up the interview,. while Costas just graciously responds. I find that quite kind and humble, attributes not always displayed by the big stars. Seemed rather decent of him...also probably made Stark feel like a million bucks...
Costas is the best there is at studio hosting, interviewing and being interviewed. I think he"d make a better play-by-play man if he were alone in the booth, as Vin Scully worked with the Dodgers. His connection with the audience would be better. Scully always lost something in translation when forced to work with a partner on network telecasts.
espn sunday night baseball can take notes from Costas because they do not shut up. The espn sunday night crew of three people feel like they have to NOT have dead air and just spew the most idiotic shit where as your Great announcers will have dead air to absorb the moment which is what I love
If the HR is over the wall, all the runs count as long as every runner touches each base. The only way a walk off win after a tie , can be by more than one run.
Greatest sports commentator of all time!

"dead air" is one of my favorite things about baseball
Part of doing play-by-play well is having an instinct for it.
It’s a crime that Joe Buck gets to call the MLB playoffs and Costas doesn’t.

Costas is soooooo smooth
SO SMOOOOTH
The moment Gibson's HR landed my 1st thought was, "Oh no, we have to face Hershiser tomorrow." I knew then it was all over!
Bob costas is the best... get rid of damn joe buck and let bob costas do all the big games
but this comes at a cost, the fact that his head is really a baseball, which you can’t see unless you have baseball head vision
Costas and Joe Buck are two of the biggest self important ass-hats in sports. I could do without either of them.

Greatest sports commentator of all time! Most of today’s announcers (2023) should shut up and listen to Costas.
I remember his interview with Vince McMahon. See Vince getting upset at Bob's questions. Put him in his spot
Why was the Mets home run only scored as a single? Is it because the game is over when the first runner crosses the plate?

He must have Red Sox stories.
