Prophet and "Moog"-Filters / Oscs sound quite different so this would make sense to me. Maybe an FM or Wavetable-Synth would be a better choice, though, to bring a completely different flavor to your setup if you're running on a tight budget,
Hey Mr. Limbic Bits, just got your book, looking forward to reading it! As for these patches, I have recreated some of these, but despite matching them 1:1, they don't exactly sound the same. I'd say yours sound a touch "beefier" and more aggressive. Is this due to some saturation/compression (or perhaps a limiter?) in the signal path? Also, could it perhaps be that the sequencer also changes cutoff or something else? I'm noticing the Cutoff Frequency is at 0 in the first patch...
Hi, first, thanks for your support! I've added some Delay / Reverb on some of the patches but this shouldn't have led to a more compressed sound. It can be that the YT-compression did something to the signal. But usually, that's rather worsening the signal. I've to do that a bit out of memory as I don't have the unit in front of me. But it seems to me that, in the first patch, I've connected - on the rear of the synth - the keyboard CV out with the CV in of the filter. This could very likely result in the behavior you are describing. Give it a try
Hi there! Great sounding synthesizer and very cool patches. Extremely versatile instrument this is! If you are into funk music you can check my poly d demos on my channel. Hope you like it. Thank you!
How can I get these patches? I checked your site and could not find a link Also can these patches be mostly applied to the regular Model D (minus a few exceptions of course like the extra oscillator and FX in the Poly D)?
These Patches are meant to be "free". Just set the video quality on 4K, pause the video and then copy the settings. Regarding the "D" - Most of the patches should be adaptable.
To be honest, I'd need to have both side-by-side again as my memory gets blurry. But just for the 4 voice parafony, I'd choose the Poly D over the Model D anytime. Well, that's not entirely true as I'd rather choose the MonoPoly ;)
@@HOLODECK-MUSIC-PROJECTConsidering several aspects (price, features, build quality, product support, sound) for me it would be (without a certain order): - Peak - OB-6 - Iridium - Behringer Pro-1 - Cascadia (but I'm still in that honeymoon-stage. We'll see in a year) - opsix (if it wasn't for that crappy keyboard) - MEGAfm (if Dub-Techno-suitability would be the determining factor ;)).
More like a gift than a demo. Thanks!
its insane how the first patch literally feels like a perfect summary of most songs from afterlife records
What if mine doesn’t sound like this :(

Ok I will Buy this NOW !!!!!!
A real master at work. Thank you.
I know what I’m asking Santa for this year 😍
blue thistles?
Instant feeling. Only electronics could do that to you.
Ouff gorgeous patches. 👍👍 Inspired, great showcase!
Gorgeous patches!
I love the Boards of Canada @1:30
Nice! I love my Poly-D. Great job!
Thanks!
Would u recommend it as a first physical synth?
Awesome stuff, thanks
!!! Amazing job! Thanks for sharing. I'm inspired!
Magic of paraphony 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Amazing sounds 👏🏾👏🏾
this sounds fkn GREAT! I have so much to learn, because I can't make my poly D sound like this!
Maybe as a good starting point: set the video to 4K hit pause and try to copy the settings from left to right to understand what is happening
Mine still doesn’t sound quite like yours. First part, how was the machine holding notes longer and shorter?
Massive Sounds ✌🎶
The moment I heard ROYGBIV… 🙏🏼
An absolute classic!
TUNE!!!
Great demo. Nice sounds
You should make a bank for the sub 37...deeper bass... and the multi drive so inspiring and creative
Might come in future but first OB-6 and argon8
I would buy a Set for subsequent 37 too!
Really great patches! 😍
Amazing!!! Thank you!!
Any time! If you like, support me by hitting subscribe to not miss patch tutorials and synth demos in future
Nice sounds. I'm having some trouble seeing the settings because of the shiny knobs though.
Have you tried watching the video in 4K? This should help
Thanks you for the video i just lost 700€ from my bank account
Well spent. I mean, what is money worth for if it's just laying around?
same
Same... Just ordered it because of this masterpiece
Waiting for the 12 voice version.
love your work ! is it possible to do a demo on that afterlife sound ?
Thanks! The best way to proceed would be to watch the video in 4K, hit pause, and make a screenshot of the settings.
@@limbicbits but this wouldn‘t capture the sequencer data 😊
Fock it sounds awesome 🔥🔥🔥
Hi....can you tell me what the afterthought is like please.
Great demo!
You guys think the Poly D would be worth getting if you already have a Prophet 6? Running a tight budget. That holiday discount tho…
im thinking the same thing, except with my Take-5 (the superior synth)
Prophet and "Moog"-Filters / Oscs sound quite different so this would make sense to me. Maybe an FM or Wavetable-Synth would be a better choice, though, to bring a completely different flavor to your setup if you're running on a tight budget,
1:32 BOARDS OF CANADAAAAAA
How did you switch to reverb? 1:22. Are you using an effects pedal to punch in and out reverb?
I’ve added the effects afterwards in post production
Do you sell these patches?
Thanks but it would not be fair to ask money for it ;). Set the video to 4K and set pause whenever you like the sound. Now, just copy the settings
Is there a patch bookelet for this to recreate the sounds?
Set to 4K and hit pause should do the trick :)
@limbicbits thank you!
Vintage Sound Power
How is the build quality of this synth? Does it stay in tune?
It stays in tune (at least my unit did) and the build quality is absolutely ok.
There’s no patch available on your website for the poly D 😭
The patches are "free". The idea is that you set the video to 4K, hit pause and copy the settings. Have fun!
@@limbicbits thank you!!! 🙏
Awesome sounds! Can this save patches?
No. This one is straight analogue without any patch storage

What are you using in the fx chain?
Valhalla DSP Rooms, Shimmer, Delay
🫨 I need to know how to do that!
Set the video to 4K and hit pause. It should be easy to copy the settings, then. Best
Will give it a go, and thank you.
Do this synth have presets?
No, you can’t store the patches
