I am personally really interested in the weapon shown in the trailer. That staff that changed to dual-like blades or a shuriken seems a lot of fun
An aerial weapon that has parry and a meter that boosts your damage sounds like Toukiden's naginata. This looks like the evolution of that weapon, and I loved using naginata in Toukiden. This one might be my main, unless the others can grab me harder.
Dude. Merry Poppins IS cool! Ya'll already know I'm gonna be screaming "I'm MERRY POPPINS ya'll" as I gracefully descend down to the monster to it's doom.
Is he cool?
@@grimmsleeper3602 Indeed.
I'm Mary Poppins y'all!

I am very happy this game actually use the Blade Umbrella. It is such a unique weapon in Wuxia and Japanese fantasy series as a weapon mostly for characters who are assassin themed as hidden weapons.
These Blade Umbrellas can be just what they are as melee weapons and a shield due to their Umbrella design but they can also be used as range hidden weapons if the user design special functions into the blade umbrella such as needle gun functions, detachable blades, and etc. As I said, blade umbrellas are more common for assassin theme characters in Wuxia and Japanese theme fantasy series when used due to their ability to be hidden weapons.
An umbrella with parry mechanics
So really it's...
A parrysol
hey hey hey, its a crime for this pun to go unnoticed so ill let you know that i appreciate it :D
alright this was pretty good
WAGASA MAINS RISE UP
WE'RE MERRY POPPINS YALL
So it's like Insect Glaive but without the insect. Which is EXACTLY what I want. And it also has a parry. Perfect.
I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!
The camera seems bad I hope they can zoom out little bit specially when you fighting the huge monster
Oh man I don’t know if you have ever watched kings avatar anime but after watching that I’ve always wanted an umbrella weapon!!!! I’m definitely gonna be a umbrella main!
The only video i really need to see about this game. Pretty sure this will be my main weapon.
Apparently this game will include 8 weapons including the katana, parasol, bow, great sword with faster mobility, a hammer, and a morp staff that can switch into dual tonfa ,long staff, bladed staff and shuriken. The last two is not confirmed yet.
A big bonk sword with speed no thanks I like my slow attack that I have to wait 15 years to hit
This weapon is giving me the same tingles I get when I see the Charge Blade.
Yup, this is what im going to main if I end up liking the game.
Looks cool. Only issue i may have with this weapon, is how much forward momentum it has. Maybe this is by design, but constantly repositioning so the combo can be completed can be a pain in the ass sometimes!
Good thing one of the three attack buttons is purely for repositioning moves. Those dashes make it the most mobile weapon besides a locked on claw, on land or in the air.
You can even use parry to reset your air combos and traverse surprising distances, like being able to get from the arch outside the Giant Tree Trunk over the outside wall and drop back into the camp.
Hopefully Weapons will get a few more Moves, those Days are gone where 3-4 Moves where enough
I love the Umbrella it's a fun was to learn monster moves so you get the most out of the damage! I also played with the bow and was surprised to actually like that weapon as well since I don't care for the MH ones!
Hoping for a support weapon like HH in mhw
I'm incredibly torn between maining either the dual blades into quad shuriken or the umbrella. Both seem incredibly fun to play
This looks awesome! God, I so wish someone would create a "Monster Hunter-type" game with mechanics such as this but based in the world of Bleach! Especially considering the segmented Katana!
Yhp... I'm into this game
Parrying with this weapon is Soo fun
One question: can you zoom out the camera? Half of the b-roll here is the character getting blocked from view coz the camera can't move further enough.
A bit of a deal breaker for me if the combat cam is like this tbh.
will there be the equivalent of Lance in this game?
So it’s kinda like daggers and insect glaive combined?
I wonder if this is like the IG of the game -- I hope there is a Polearm weapon type though with aerial moves, basically an insect glaive XD without the kinsect is fine, that Dagger/Shuriken/Polearm weapon from the 8minute trailer looked like it could be it? I saw them do a jump off of the Polearm version of the weapon in the demo but eh, too much going on with that weapon
I just wanna look cool with a long stick with a pointy part at the end
Thanks for the videos though! I'm still iffy about the game but your content helps a lot
This is gonna be the weapon I Main
Can you parry attacks while in the air?
The air combat must have a downside.
I don't know but I seem to remember someone in the last video saying that you can parry in the air.
If air combat is ANYTHING like MonHun...then the downside will be janky ass hitboxes... XD
I mean I would assume like you have restricted mobility, like dodging or being stuck in that area till you come down so if a monster moves around a lot it may not be very good to be air heavy
Yep you can!
its so hard to fill the bar, on the vid it raises so fast with a few attacks but in game even when the boss is knocked down and im comboing and hitting him it goes up very slow :/
This one. I choose this one.
never played monster hunter games but can someone tell me why Im so excited about this game ?!
I'm in the same boat for some reason
You missing out. you definitely should play monster hunter games
I only want a hunting horn
Dude it looks freaking cool but sadly I can't download the beta on Xbox saying not available 😭
Mary Popping attack sounds pretty dope
"I'm Mary Poppins y'all!"
anyone else think all the hit sound effects, especially when there are 2 players with this many hits is kina jarring? i feel like the hit sound effects are a bit too much in the foreground and always going
Do you know total amount of weapon types?
I think it’s 8
@@Jetstreamsamsbiggestglazer thank you
Add underwater combat and I’m in
I use the Umbrella on Nintendo Switchs Splatoon guess I’ll be Doing same here😂
Hi
The almost only weapon-type in this game , that i'm saddly gonna admit isn't good... This isn't Sekiro guys 😅 You're literally up against an AI monster which you dont know when to Parry and those Monsters dont Stagger much , good thing however they mixed it as if its a Insect Glaive kinda Wagasa Umbrella weapon... Otherwise the Core Mechanic of this weapon doesn't blend-in a Monster Hunter Game actually... You see in Monster Hunter games you almost rely on big heavy attack or Multi-hitting attacks.... Parry is something for another Genre typically like TeamNinja-like games like Ninja Gaiden , Nioh , Wo Long Fallen Dynasty or even Dark Souls Fromsoftware Games like Sekiro or Elden Ring.... But still the Concept of a Bladed Wagasa Umbrella is rather cool. The Parry only doesn't match , but the Thrusting mechanic saved this Weapon-type within this game for building up Gauge.
*Note* : Wagasa are literally unique Bamboo Umbrellas that are made by Japan only with Paper Parasols, its a fully Wooden Umbrellas seen mostly in Sengoku-period and afterwards... Its a Dramatic Umbrella usually seen by middle aged Lords and Lady Lords too. ( Its not a Fantasy Umbrella , its pretty real actually... But the Bladed parts are made-up suited for Combat in this game and gliding with Aerial Combat i guess lol ). Cool Concept tho , its Koei Tecmo... I think Bladed Wagasa is seen in either Samurai Warriors or Dynasty Warrior games in PS2 also if i'm not mistaken. 👍🏼💯
This is my weapon of choice….till I see gameplay of a “chargeblade”
The only problem I have with this game so far is that the monsters Look very generic. I know it's a early build but hopefully It do something about that
other than that everything else is dope I love How fluid the character's movement is
I don't find their appearance generic but the movesets look really basic, physical swipes and stomps are fine, but with the amount of detail in their appearance they don't seem to have anything useful on them.
@@vraolet Hey that's your opinion. The monster's appearance to me is super generic though they look like basic animals with a bunch of flowers And grass stuck to them there's nothing unique about it
@@BushidoXBrown If it helps at all this game is heavily based off of Chinese and Japanese fantasy Wuxia novels. Cultivation stories. It would not surprise me if these creatures are in fact divine beasts which are very integral parts of Wuxia world building
These “divine beasts” are just odd versions of existing animals like the 9 coloured snake or Giant Fire Ape but they often drop heavenly materials or ingredients characters use directly or combine into elixirs to increase their power. Such a system could be very deep with multiple divine beasts in a single map with less focus on individual fights like in MH
Keep an open mind I see what you are saying as someone who may not have been exposed to this type of storytelling and world building before.
@@TheDubDisciple I know what it's based off of but I still think the monsters look Generic. I don't know why people can't just accept my opinion. You have your own and I have mine
@@BushidoXBrown of course that's my opinion, did you expect me to voice someone else's opinion? xD
More seriously, I get your opinion, you can put as much flower and lava effect on a Boar, if it still looks act and sound like a boar, it's just a boar.
But then again, Monster Hunter started with a Velociraptor and a Boar, Toukiden had an Imp and a Spider and both games made some pretty cool designs down the line.
It should be noted that Tecmo Koei is on this game and they made the Toukiden series which (In my opininon) was mainly held back by it's small budget but otherwise had a ton of good ideas and very fun builds.
