Congratulations on your new position with Embry Riddle. I'd like to thank you on behalf of myself and all the other viewers for your dedication to aircraft preservation and restoration. You will be sorely missed, as evidenced by the BF 108 project being put on hold.
Well said. And to re-iterate "You will be sorely missed........", just can't be emphasised enough. But to think that many 'Paul trained' aircraft engineers will be a new generation of future maintainers and possibly some of those will get into restoration, has a silver lining, we hope.
Clear skies ahead, Paul. Best of luck in your new profession; I'm sure your students will be greatly impacted by your experience with Kermit and company.
Best part of this channel are your updates. Your loss here to Weeks will be the entire restoration communities gain and who knows...one of your pupils might show up here one day.
Weeks is going to have a job finding an articulate presenter who's also a mechanical wizard. Let's hope it's soon, so we can see more of the world's best Bf-108 being assembled. Still, it's good to know that Paul's skills are going to be passed on to new generations of engineers to "Keep 'em Flying". The students will no doubt hear a lot of war stories to supplement their formal knowledge and ground it in reality.
Best of luck Paul! Your students are very lucky to get an instructor with all of your experience. I hope the BF 108 project doesn't get stalled for too long.
Hi Paul . We're all going to miss you and no one more so than Kermit . But we all know that it takes a special person to teach their skills to others and Paul , you have that skill. And deep down Kermit knows that aviation needs people like yourself . But l'm sure it was with a heavy heart when you both said "au revoire " . ...Congtratulations !
Oh nooooo! That's what I was afraid your announcement was going to be. That's great for you and awful for us LOL! I'll REALLY miss watching you talk about your work, Paul.
Sad to see Paul leaving, as he was the best to explain the complex restoration work. But this talent will surely be even more useful for the students. Best luck Paul, I hope that you can start some restoration oriented courses.
Well Paul, sad news but good news. Thanks for sharing all those sweet moments of your restauration projects among all others on that beautifull team of F.O.F. Best wishes from Portugal
My 7 year old son and I have really enjoyed watching your videos on these restorations for the last few years. It’s has been great time experiencing and discussing these videos with him. I really hope you make a lot more videos in the future. Godspeed and good luck to you on your new adventures in life.
sweet! I was just thinking about this plane. its been a while. excellent! there is absolutely no more noble action than teaching. wait no you have to finish the 108 first lol.
Good luck in your new position you will be missed it's one of those things you have to do in life and great that you will pass on your skills to young people a great legacy to leave well done Paul..
Great move Paul. What a terrific opportunity for the present and future students at Embry. I always looked forward to your Restoration Segments for Kermit. You will make a great teacher. Best Wishes.
Oh, no! Bitter sweet. The years! Wishing you the best at ER! The students are going to be so fortunate for having you as their instructor. Next thing, ER will be building a new wing for the program!
Congratulations Paul. When this restoration project started, you inspired me to become an A&P mechanic. It's been a long road, but after putting myself through my local community college, earning my degree and mechanic's cert, I've been a mechanic for a couple years now. Now, I'm also working at Embry Riddle at their sister campus in Arizona! Wishing you the best of luck, and hoping I can go out to Florida someday to meet you. Keep on inspiring, Paul!
Congrats for Paul -- not for leaving Weeks but for sharing of the skills and knowledge to the next generation of enthusiasts who will walk in his footsteps. Hopefully a course or two can be created to make sure there is another generation who can take to maintain, service and repair the great vintage warbirds we all have a passion for. Hopefully one day a fun Kermit project ends up at Emery Riddle as a credit earned practicum course for the students who will do the restoration work with the supervision of yourself.
I am going to miss seeing you on these videos! You will be missed, but it is great that you get to inspire another generation. Good luck in your new position.
Holy cow, Paul. Best wishes in your new endevore. You have been such a big part of the weeks collection for so long it's hard to process your departure. I hope to see your 108 project continue again in some new hands before too long. You will make an excellent educator. You have been teaching us all for years already. Thank you sir.
Amazing: Kermit Weeks. Some people are fortunate to be born to wealth. Very, very few of them use the wealth and attendant privilege to make such a valuable contribution to the world and its history. The crew. Dedication, craftsmanship, creativity, resourcefulness. I need another word besides “amazing.”
Thanks for the update Paul - so good to see more progress - much painstaking and patient work. 34 years with Kermit!! Wow - well, Paul very best of luck with what sounds a very exciting future.
Great idea with your move to teaching. Share the knowledge that is being forgotten everyday as people get older and pass on. You have a lot to share and plenty of time to it. Hope there are enough young folks that want to learn. Being almost 70 I still learn new ways, and old, of doing things.
Congrats Paul. All of your work and videos have been awesome, and I think it's fantastic that you'll be training another generation of Aviation Maintenance Science students...
We'll...don't know what to say. I've waited SO long for this update, but it just feels like Paul IS the 108. I'm sure it will be in good hands and I am happy for Paul and this great opportunity.
Congratulations on your new position Paul. I wish you a great time there and hope it brings you everything you are hoping for. You will be missed here a big bunch (and no doubt at Weeks as well). Loved your work and your update videos a lot. All the best!
I have been watching your informative Bf-108 updates from Australia since the very start of the project. You make all things discussed easy to understand and interesting and I have no doubt you will excel in your chosen new career. All the very best and thank you for the many hours of wonderful restoration updates.
I’ve really enjoyed your videos on the restoration of the Bf.108 - they are an invaluable insight into restoring a heritage aicraft (I’m a student aircraft engineer in NZ with the goal of working on warbirds) - but I never expected one of your videos to bring me to tears. ERAU is so lucky to have you. Good luck on your new adventure: I am so jealous of your students!!
👍👍 .. and best of luck in your future job, Paul .. hopefully we will still see you from time to time at Kermit's .. you can't leave just like that without finishing this unique project 😉✌
Hi Paul, I wish you all the best for your next job to train and inspire your students. They could not get any better „hands on“ instructor! Your qualities in teaching showed in the presentation of your work, especially in the restoration on the Bf 108 project. These videos are the best restoration information one is able to follow. You are definitely talented to instruct your students in the best possible way. Now the flip side: I hoped the Bf 108 project would carry on , even when you left. That‘s a bit disappointing, but understandable. Sad to see you go, but you have to go where you can follow your dreams. All the best, good luck, Paul. (Maybe Kermit decides to finish the Bf 108 project in the not too far future, so I will be able to watch „your“ project finished in my lifetime.) 👍
Great opportunity and wish you the best. Glad to hear you will still stay connect and active with Warbirds and Kermit - but teaching others to preserve and maintain is awesome. Wealth of knowledge now being passed on. Good luck!
Thanks Paul for your smiling face on the updates you have presented. You will be greatly missed but it’s really gratifying knowing that you’ll passing your knowledge and experience to a younger generation. All the best wishes for your future. 🐻
Oh no Paul.....I really looked forward to any of your videos!! Your such an informative guy. Always enjoyed your style. Good luck to you in your new job. May God bless you

Very sad to hear you're leaving! I have enjoyed following your works, watching you build a plane from junk with Jesse James and we even met in person at the final Roundup in Ohio back in 07. You were kind, entertained my many questions and I thank you for all you do! Very best wishes to you! The world needs more teachers like you! 💙🍻

What Cameron said. I have loved my time with you Paul.
Congratulations on your new position with Embry Riddle. I'd like to thank you on behalf of myself and all the other viewers for your dedication to aircraft preservation and restoration. You will be sorely missed, as evidenced by the BF 108 project being put on hold.
Wow... I was literally just wondering how long he was going to be doing this work - must have been psychic lol.
