    You're spot on with the watering being the issue (no pun intended). I live near you and I water once a week at 1". If the forecast is predicting crazy temps, I still do 1" in my weekly cycle, then add a 1/2" in late afternoon/evening in the zone when the sun isn't beating. This ensures water doesn't stay on the leaves and more importantly, that the grass knows to dig down for water. For example, people water each zone x mins per day, the water doesn't get down deep, and the roots aren't driven do dig - you end up with shallow roots, prone to drought damage, and also prone to disease. I recently dug out a new flowerbed extension, digging into my lawn. The roots were well beyond 7.5" deep in PNW clay, and I'm a million percent sure it's because infrequent watering. Don't get me wrong, my yard will win a contest between any yard in our neighborhood, but I make the grass work for it.

    Great video Nate. I made the mistake of just applying Scotts Disease Ex in early June when the rain, heat and humidity started here. Didn't realize that it doesn't control dollar spot and isn't even mentioned on the bag. A week later had the webs and then small brown circles on my lawn. I went out and got the granular Bayer Fungus control that states on the bag for dollar spot and it stopped more from developing. Now I use both mixed together at the preventative rate and apply ever few weeks to cover all the possibilities. I also had planned a full liquid diet this year with the N-Ext products but the Spring we had wasn't showing much improvement. End up using some left over granular fert from the previous year to give it a jump start. Now still doing the weekly spoon feeding with the liquids and using the granular once a month to keep the levels up.

      @PacificNorthwestLawns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll definitely be doing a more proactive program next year. There's nothing wrong with supplementing so extra N with a granular. I think I'm going to actually switch to a full hybrid plan myself.

      I had dollar spot 6 weeks ago. I used Scotts Disease Ex at the curative rate. It totally solved the problem. All the brown grass greened up over about 9 days. Bag doesn't claim to treat dollar spot but I used it anyway because the grass was browning so fast I didn't have time to find something else. I'm in the northeast, perennial ryegrass. After 6 weeks still looking good. Good luck.

      I don't really have a watering issue under normal conditions. My problem developed when we had that heat wave over 4 days and set an all time record high of 115*. Now that we're back to a more normal type weather I really have no need to syringe water in the heat of the day.
