I have three of these and it is phenomenal!! If you are happy with just one of these, you will absolutely LOVE having more than one. I do not play them loud, but playing even two speakers enhances the listening experience multi-fold! You feel completely enveloped in sound. I love the size because sometimes I just want to take one along with me. I absolutely love the Charge 5s.
I’m always interested in Bluetooth speakers with phone charging and AUX-in, have you seen many of those? Thanks for the thorough and high quality review 🙏
Good review Erin I'm a bit late with the Bluetooth speaker craze but I just bought the JBL Charge 5 and I absolutely love it.I live in Melbourne Australia I bought it on Amazon for $145 pretty good price.Maybe I should buy another one so i can psync it up with the other speaker.
Great suggestion, thanks. I will see if I can get my hands on the Wi-Fi version and I also know I will be getting a few more new JBL devices ahead of the holiday season too.
Depends what you’re using it for… Whether you need it to be battery powered or plugged in. Whether you need long or short, battery, life, if size is a concern…or looks.
@@stevendavies7351 I have both the Flip 6 and the Motion+ and I prefer the Flip6 because it has better low-end bass and the size is a huge plus for taking the speaker anywhere and being able to place it in many unique places. The Motion+ is louder and has a full sound with crispy highs but it can be harsh at loud volumes. Also, it is fairly heavy and it can only be placed flat on a surface unlike the Flip that can hang from the lanyard, stand on it's side, or lay flat.
First, it’s hard to see how any sort of realistic sound test of a speaker can be performed over YT audio. Second, I have yet to see a single speaker test on YT that used an actual sound level measuring device, y’ know, decibels and all that. People love to say something like “This is 60% volume,” which is of course completely uninformative.
I used to daily drive Oase Hero s5(its okay if you don't know what that is), and i thought this was great for $30 speaker. Okay bass, bit muddy, but the sound doesn't travel so far. For indoor use, its fine. But outdoor, 10 steps away and you can barely hear it. But then i got a charge 5, my desk where i used to put my S5, its rumbling like crazy. Bass is thumping. The tweeter really help to open mid to high separation. Man, I've never felt so left out like this... 😂
Jbl charge 5 is all just amazing audio and built-in quality nothing more nothing less... I purchase last year and still kickin good! No problem whatsoever... Hope it last😊
I just purchased one of these a couple of days ago. While I do admit, it does get really loud, & produces a significant amount of bass, I'm not impressed at all with the overall sound quality. I went on the jbl app, fiddled around with the e q & took out some of the bass. The mids & highs sound really flat; no detail at all. I read the power specs that came with it. 30 watts for the cone driver, 10 watts for the tweeter. I think the sound engineers at jbl got this one all wrong. Should've been more like 25 & 15. That way the high end wouldn't sound so dull. I listen to a lot of classic rock, 90's grunge & metal. This is NOT the speaker for these types of music. If your into bass heavy genres: hip-hop, rap, electronic, etc., then yes, this is the speaker for you.
I bought one today as an upgrade to my Blackweb speaker thats just a little smaller and much cheaper. After an hour I took it back bc it was actually a downgrade.
If your main interest of music is rock & or metal, you may want to look elsewhere. I just purchased one, & was very unsatisfied with the lack of detail in the mids & highs. I'm not an EXPERT, but from the reviews that I've been reading, I think my next speaker will be a MARSHALL. They're known for their clarity & detail. While they're a little on the pricey side, I'll chance it. If your a fan of rock music, I'd suggest you do the same.
@@ErinLawrenceTV no problem, anytime. I have a lot of TH-cam creator friends, and friends that write, i get how it is. Plus I write reviews for a small nerd culture website, just finishing off an accessibility review of the Dual Sense Edge controller. All about that engagement for the algorithms to notice you.

JBL makes some great bluetooth products! Good review. PS, such a handsome pup and my 8lb Yorkie has the same grey bed, but of course smaller. :)
Aww, thanks!
I have ordered one today, now I have my party box 110 at home application and charge 5 for out door applications
Me too. Exactly the same. I have stereo in my car. But I think the Charge 5 will sound great while driving 3 hours.
Doe the jbl charge 5 have built in microphone for phone calls ?
Nahh

Yes! Glad to hear you love it!
The channel layout is👍 gr8 information
Thanks so much, so glad to hear!
I changed the C4 one for this C5 and that was for the sound quality, witch is more muffled in my ears on C4.
Can you do a comparison video charge 5 vs Charge 5 wifi version ?
Great suggestion, thanks. I will see if I can get my hands on the Wi-Fi version and I also know I will be getting a few more new JBL devices ahead of the holiday season too.
I love mine!! Great sound!
Awesome!

@@ErinLawrenceTV just for round the house, when I am working, I've looked at the flip 6, the charge 5, and the soundcore motion plus, I can't decide.
