For anyone wanting two monitors (with separate screens of course), you’re gonna have to buy a DP cable (looks a lot like an hdmi cord). Run the DP cable on your MAIN monitor (make sure you plug the main monitor in first) then run the hdmi cord to your tower/laptop. Struggled with this a bit for awhile but it’s actually an easy solution. Hope this helped!
the manual said some sources do not support multi- display. I try a chromecast tv in the imput and two output to 65" onn roku TV it is not picking signal 😢
This Onn product he reviewed merely repeats one signal Input out to four different outputs. For the case in example, of having on Roku or one PC and wanting its same video (i.e. a movie) played in four different screens .like in a bar or B-Dubs. It has nothing to do with a projector or a USB-C to HDMI adapter
No kidding. It does exactly what it describes..it's a duplicator (1 in to 4 out) Dug works as described on box. It is not a display extender. Buy a real laptop or a real video card for your desktop..
Thanks for the review! I found this product does NOT bypass HDCP, so if anyone is buying it for that purpose then be aware. I'll probably keep it anyway so I can have my pc displaying on both my monitor AND living room tv.
Just to be clear, you’re saying that I cannot run a Old school VGA cord into a hdmi converter and receive a signal? I am currently doing this and running a tv with hdmi. They both pick up signal however it’s mirrored and I can’t change it to extended.
I don't fully understand the question, I'm sorry. Are you wondering about bypassing HDCP, or specifically wanting to not have a mirrored signal as well as extending it? I was just letting folks know this splitter doesn't bypass HDCP. I did buy a different one that DOES bypass HDCP, but I'd have to look at my order history for the exact name if you're interested. Now, about the VGA stuff... You have a VGA to HDMI converter and as well as converting to HDMI you want to split and extend the signal? is that right? EDIT: I could be wrong but I think anything using VGA doesn't have HDCP. So if you convert VGA to HDMI and put it through this splitter, it should have a signal, but I don't know if extending is possible. I just read a comment on this video that said it doesn't extend so you might want to look for a different splitter.
I just purchased a second matching monitor after a year and I'm getting "Out Of Range" now on both monitors. I know the resolution isn't an issue as I've used it for a year. Soo I'm guessing it's this Onn product 😪
Joshua Let's Plays I went to the WalMart site and looked at the image(in one of the Q and A's ), back of the box. It doesn't say in the specs. There is a number at the bottom of the box, call them and ask. Or buy it and try it out. If you can return it, if it doesn't work, that might be the way to go.
@@vinyltapelover Hey, thanks for the reply! In short, this product does not bypass HDCP. I actually ended up calling after I made this comment in walmart. The rep said they aren't sure and I guess the manual wouldn't have any info on it either.
@@JoshuaPlays_96 You're welcome. Sometimes, on the packaging or in the manual, it will say non compliant. I bought a Tandy/Radio Shack audio/ video control center and switch, decades ago,. It was what I needed for the various audio/video, analog devices I had at the time. The store was clearing old stock and it was in a bin for $10. I found later, it could by pass copy guard, but nothing on the packaging or even the manual with detailed schematics, alluded to that fact. lol.
@@vinyltapelover Nice deal! I was hoping it was the case that it could bypass even without anything alluding to it being able to do so. I was in a hurry to be able to record PS3 gameplay. I could have waited, but was impulsive in the moment. I'll go with something from Amazon that will definitely do it.
Wait I thought this was to hook up multiple devices when a tv doesn’t have enough hdmi ports. For example when I use my ps5 and want to use my Apple TV I had to move the cable out of one to the other. I think I just wasted my money. I thought it was a switch box.
You're using the device all wrong it's for TV it can be used for a computer but you would have to have 4 monitors receiving the same signal one at a time
just wasted my money... why would anybody want two screens showing the same thing. doesnt make sense, it says 4 way splitter, why would you need 4 screens with the same thing
How do you get it so you can do different things on each monitor? Because for me it’s just one screen being casted to two tvs
This worked when my Dad said he had done it right we followed this video and fixed it, thank you for besting my dad!!!!

my laptop doesnt have a display port☹️
XL Aaron oh man, I’m not entirely sure then. I know there’s some diverters out there for laptops
Thank you! bought this Onn splitter thinking it could do that.
I just waisted 30 bucks 😪 where can I get this dp splitter and what else I need to make this work.???
@@INFINITESYKOSIS laptop or desktop?
Can I use my TV well it work that way though tv
Mine is garbage. It only lights up. Doesn't send video signal to any screens that I have. It's a piece of junk!
Mine too..
Same here
Are we stupid or are half of them defective?

Same same
Can this splitter be used to connect a sound bar, DVD player, and Directv box to a Samsung TV that only has 2 HDMI ports?
this device takes 1 input from anywhere and makes 4 outputes
Es especial para todo eso
You need an HDMI switch, not an HDMI splitter.
What is the hz at 4k? 30 60 120?
I have a ONN projector and cannot use my phone with an hdmi adapter to my phone with a usb C... This works for that also?
I'm confused

Good video. Splitter will only mirror will not give duel screen capabilities. 😖
Gay ash
You saved me some trouble my friend

I have two gaming consoles, but one keeps turning off while the other is still on.
So i was wondering i instead of to monitors if i can instead use this to connect 2 devices to one display
No you need a different adapter
So, I can't figure out how to toggle betweem the outputsn I guess this wont work for what I need.
I have this exact splitter and there is only 1 output port not 2. This doesnt help at all. Unless im clueless
This one has 1 input and 4 outputs. Unless you have a different model or device
Can I use it for one tv?
Yes

weird. should work unless defected.

Put hdmi From laptop into the middle input on that spliter. Then you can have 4 outputs to TVs
I'm subscribing to you because I have this same switcher and I didn't know you could power it with a cord (which solved my problem) lol
glad to hear
Ugh so I can’t have 2 different screens and I got it nooo

I even asked at the store before I bought it if I could have two different screens and was told yes. Uggggg
