For very long, I though I could dance salsa . . . O.M.G. I was so wrong, I can follow of the steps - making tons of mistakes- but my torso is so stiff. I am going to practice and practice all the moves. Maybe after this pandemic is gone, I can truly dance salsa. Thank you!! February 17, 2021.

For people wondering, I understand the title may well be misleading, but this is specifically designed for beginners who dance Salsa at the level. The reason for this is because they know the absolute basics of Salsa & to be fair to Rebecca, she has the movements spot on, so please don't criticise her as everyone has their own way of teaching. She does a very good job.
Tip for Rebecca though: Maybe have a couple of men in there so guys can follow too as the men (on 1 timing) step forward on their left, whereas, the ladies always start on their right foot.
Brilliant work though, I am a guy, but this helps me to teach not just the lead's footwork but also follower's as well. Keep it up!

Helpful tip: During the turn, use the tap of your left to get momentum to pivot around. It's easier than it looks! :D
Would be very good if the instructor was not facing the camera, was way too hard to follow front on.

Great Video! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you tried - Lammywalness Past Love Guide (do a google search)? It is a great one of a kind product for how to get your ex back minus the headache. Ive heard some super things about it and my old buddy Taylor got great results with it.

On 2 timing is different to On 1 timing. I am sure that Rebecca would agree when I say, if you're an ABSOLUTE beginner, then it is recommended to just focus on EITHER the On 1 timing, or the On 2 timing, BUT ONLY ONE of them as learning both will confuse you. I danced Salsa for about 3/4 years now so I recommend picking whichever timing you feel most comfortable with and learning the basics based off that timing. For on 1 timing, this video is going to be difficult, but for people who choose the ON 2 timing, you can not go wrong. She is fab!

Can’t follow forward facing. Gave up.
Spent 5 min mirroring the instructor and then realizing I had it all backwards. Very difficult style of teaching.
Put the screen infront of the mirror, it works
your complicating things for begginers

Instructions were excellent except that left and right are reversed which make the whole thing almost too confusing to be useful. The comments from the students were distracting. I would love to see more lessons from Rebecca Blomberg without students who comment and without the left-right confusion.

If I have a positive thing to say first is that the combo is nice. Sorry but this is not a beginners routine. Where are the basic steps, she never explains how to understand the music. This are numbers and maths. She never turns to see her from the back. She never checks the woman in red doing something different all the time. Nice try but is not a good video.
I agree with you. I like the routine but i have been dancing salsa for 3 years now and this is not a beginner routine.
Yeah, and this was very different from what I learned with two steps each way, but maybe because it was a different style like she said

This indeed is NY style salsa, where the lady starts with the right foot and breaking to the front on 2, thus for guys starting with the left foot and then breaking down to the back on 2 (NY style is also called on 2 - LA style you break on 1 to either to the front (guys) and back (ladies) and therefore called on 1)
Hi kammy! Thank you for the explanation, I was getting totally confused because I learnt the basic step starting from the left to the back and with feet together in 4 and 8.
Her counting was not making sense to me since her feet never come back together... I feel this "spread feet" style makes it less elegant...
I have a small question: in the "traditional" salsa keeps feet briefly together in the same line in 4 and 8 or did I learn it wrong? Thank you! ❤️

@@poppy528 but in this style she's doing her feet never come back together...the 4 and 8 are with one leg in the air and changing the weight to the opposite leg... It was confusing for me too
Cheers for this, I've been looking for "learn how to salsa dance" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Miyyan Wenacob Bulldozer - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my buddy got cool success with it.

I have danced for a good 3/4 years but still class Suzi Q's as intermediate, so be careful when teaching them to beginners as you will have to be extremely patient.
These steps don't look very 'beginnier" to me - but those ladies did well!

Obviously you're good dancers but his mirror image is confusing to me. Reminds me of an episode of Steptoe and Son when Albert was trying to teach Harold to dance & even though he became quite good, he could only dance the female part at the dance hall.
John Galvin 😂... these are only some of the reasons that I am having a difficult time talking myself into starting up an adult dance class.
Great dancer! Great tips! But, would be much better if the instructor did this in front of a mirror so you could see her from both the front & back. Hint, hint! Also introduce it as salsa on 2 so as not to confuse students who already know a little. Please go a little slower if you have the time.
I totally agree with you that it is important to emphasize that this is salsa on2 especially for the beginerss
This is an 8 count dance. The count should be 1,2,3,and,5,6,7,and= 8 counts
When beginner is too hard for you
it is not really for beginners - it starts maybe somehow easy - but then very quickly it gets much more complicated - and definitely not easy for beginners. did you try other tutorials on YT?
I teach salsa too - definitely not a beginners routine and it gives beginners little to no chance to learn it if they don't even have their back to you. Nice routine though. Check out other videos!

That is not, for sure, Colombian or Puertorican Salsa!!! (It was a nice work out for a Zumba session, that's all)

you can create your own songs there... you can turn the counts on and off and much more! ( I was using it a lot with my students)

Actually its the leg movement which creates the hips - if done properly
For me is very funny to see this kind of videos that have nothing to do with salsa dancing
Really frustrating that none of these videos teach it facing the direction of the audience...at least say the opposite foot way too off gave up...and not a first time dancer
I cant agree with you more... also as an advanced dancer it is hard to follow a mirror image of what you need to do! very frustrating!

Hard to follow for beginner, instructor needs to have her back to the screen instead of her face.
I totally agree with you - best angle is the back angle - so you don't get confused - and if you do it from the front - you can mirror the video to make it less confusing...

At first, she explained clearly. Then suddenly after 5 minutes, she went to intermediate level... Then suddenly advanced level... How to follow? Dislike! First time, I disliked a video for a misleading title.
