I've been experiencing this for MONTHS now and I was getting soooo frustrated.
I'm going to test myself and practice breathing (which I'm sure I'm doing wrong since I'm always gasping for air until my back hurts).
Thank you SO MUCH for this.
I'll post an update here if it solves the issue and recommend this to my saxophone teacher.

This was really helpful, I have this exact problem and I was getting so fed up with my saxophone playing I thought I was just doing everything wrong. This video makes me realize that I'm not the only one with this issue, and maybe now I can solve it. Thank you, love your videos!

I had this while performing once, couldn't get a sound out of my sax because I was giggling at the weird snorts at the back of my nose xD

It's the soft palate muscle fatiguing...anyone can get it, if they stress the muscle long enough.
The time until it happens can be extended by proper breathing, embouchure, being relaxed, focusing on airflow instead of just pressure, etc.
Warning signs are feeling like you got snot in your nose, particularily at the back of your throat at the nose. Little snorts, pops and the like.
If it happens, better take it easy for that day...because it can become chronic.

I have been having this problem for months and it's the most frustrating thing ever, because I am vibing with the sax and I am full of air, but this appears and difficults a lot the performing.
What you said makes sense because I usually have this problem when I've been practicing a lot, maybe I am tired and need some good breathe.
Thanks you a lot for your advise, I will put it in practice!
