i have been watching for a while and it’s crazy how far you’ve come, you were making (no offense) weird challenges and now you have a creator points. It’s amazing how far you’ve come and congrats on solar

I find that when people put so much time into a layout it’s hard to decorate. What I do is make some very vague gameplay - even if that’s just placing some portals. I usually leave things like spikes and most structures out and only make what’s absolutely necessary for the gameplay. When I focus so much on structures / spikes / exact flow of the level that’s when the layout gets hard to decorate.

Hello Tride. I don't know if you will notice this comment, but I just want to say that this video of yours has inspired me to create more and more. I have been playing geometry dash for five years, and my dream has always been to create a level that would be worthy of other players' attention. I'm so glad you managed to finish this level because it's really awesome. I believe that one day I will be able to achieve my dream and create a level that would be worthy of being featured.
I was never good at decorating in GD. But I learned something from this level that can help me start learning,
copy + paste is your best friend, don't be afraid that anyone will notice it. Its better than trying to make differing styles every 5 seconds and end up failing.
So I'm currently trying to make my first rate worthy level and lost a lot of motivation because nothing turned out the way I wanted. This video just made me get all that motivation back. Also huge congrats to u on a massive milestone!

A bit late on this, but fantastic video! Your insights here are easy to forget when you’re in the weeds of the creating world and can take years to come back around to, so to make these conclusions and share them with others this early on is really impressive. Love the humility and respect you approach this topic with and with your unique point of view it reminds us all of why we started creating to begin with, to explore our own ideas in the most versatile level editor of all time!

Seeing this gave me a big motivation boost when i was making beloved, my motivation was running low on it when i got to making the last part, my creativity was getting worse, your backgrounds gave me some inspiration for the background of the second part, and before that the motivation boost gave me help for making the last part, thank you so much man, all i can do now is wait for feedback on it and hopefully it gets rated, hopefully it gets some feedback from big creators and gets seen by more people, i know my style isnt the best but it makes me nostalgic and thats how i got my style, thinking of levels that i loved before, i know people might not care but all the advice i can give is finding your own style, look at level you love and try to inspire yourself from them, dont copy them tho

This video is fantastic, I have never agreed so much with any commentary on “how to make a first level” more in my entire life. Parts about the building process, feedback process, motivation process, difference between non-demons and demons, it was literally all perfect.
As for the level, I played it before watching this video and I couldnt be less surprised by your advanced understanding of the creating process. You know exactly what to do but youre only so early in the process of improving the more technical artistic side of things so this stage is perfect. The level was awesome, totally not surprised the video was awesome too.

the not taking a level seriously thing resonates with me in making music. I made the song Insufferable Garbage for Silent Dicctras and a sequel song to it, and those were so fucking fun to make. I tried all sorts of cool crazy stuff that I wouldn't have tried normally because the song was supposed to sound bad. Flarroni made a part in the second song and from what he's said he felt the same way.
5:33 i totally agree, if you want to create a level that you're proud of and it needs work, a few movements or hue changes won't save it. That being said most static levels are boring and unfun. I think what YOU did seemed to turn out great 😃 especially for a first rated level. Props to you Trideapthbrear!

i just played solar and i do think its feature worthy. you made some great gameplay that's genuinely fun! while its not glow/modern style, i honestly think that the way solar is decorated is much better then both styles. very nice job :)

I'm a new creator with no CP and have been struggling to finish a level for months purely because of the pressure that everything about it has to be "perfect", but this vid helped me understand how that mindset is pretty brutal and can put a stop to progress altogether. I have about 40 seconds of deco left that I'm now pushing myself to finish before the end of the month. It's a demon which means the rate standards will likely be higher, but if it doesn't get rated I will still be proud of what I made regardless. Thank you for making this video!

Yea this journey was interesting and idk if other creators read this but dont stop building if people say your deco or gameplay is bad just think about that one thing even you favorite creator was on the same point of creating like you maybe it take longer but make levels and enjoy the time you will impove with time.
