@@ChairmanoftheBoard hey, coming back here that you did pick my interest for this game (which ain't hard for a Knizia design). I found the game on the 2nd hand market for 5€. I was like "what could go wrong?". Few days later I can confirm, this game is amazing. Plays in less than 20 minutes at 2p, very easy teach, feels well balanced and streamlined. Not too mean yet challenging and competitive. Excellent family and gateway game!! Thank you Chairman ;)
I love this game. You're right that luck in drawing doubles can be a factor. I've thought about setting up in a way that players get an even amount of doubles, but it works fine playing the base rules
what is the best player count for Qin? Have you played it with 2,3 and 4?
I think objectively, it's better with 2. I happen to love it at any player count though
QIN: wouldn’t a drafting variant would reduce the luck of the draw? Such as in Framework, Kingdomino, sushi go or the like?
It would take away from the game I think. You always have 3 tiles so that mitigates the luck slightly.

Looks a little bit like citrus
They do look similar. Very different gameplay wise though
