I’m with you mate. One of my favourite things in the hobby is theory crafting lists. The lack of certainty around army list building for the new edition has kinda put me into a hobby funk where I haven’t wanted to paint or buy anything. Getting these books will certainly reignite that. All the best for throne of skulls. Merry Christmas

I thing I noticed right away that I thought was interesting is the Might, Will, and Fate are now spelled out. That’s good since W could be both wounds and will on the profile sheet.
Great run down, I’m not too fazed about the slight tweaks to the profiles, the main issue for me all along is list building and the legacy units. Hopefully the next article will give more clarity to changes as I tend to build lists outside of the box so to speak. I also hope you can still take orc captains on wargs, as I’d had some great plans for some converted carn dum warg riders that need a suitable captain leading them

I agree with a lot of this - army building is difficult. I'm all for themey but I don't want to lose the options within that. For example, Aaron is taking a "Road to Rivendell" list to Throne of Skulls: the hobbits, bill, Aragorn, Glorfindel, Gildor and some wood elves (legacy aside), I'm worried things like this might not be possible at tournaments now... 🤔 But we'll have to see I guess!

The dual role potentially leaving is really scary, I hope you’ll still be able to play for example Hugh elves without having to use last alliance etc. We’ll have to see though of course I’m hopeful the MESBG team get it right! Still excited but a little nervous
I want to know what the elite unit leadership looks. Do models with "berserker" keyword need "berserker" captains or special heroes? Super interested to see how it works.
It wasn't anything to do with the channel (we don't get any support other than Patreons!), I work in cinema and so it was the best perk of the job ever! 😅😁
The preorders running out nonsense I'm not taking part of. If they run out so be it. They will be back and stay avaible for quite some time. The priority rule change is neat. In my book the game needs alternative activations and units to make bigger forces playable for us mere mortals who do not go to tournaments. Indovidual movemnets and choices are good at a low model count but takes waaaaaay to long if you do not know all options and enemy model profiles and their options by heart. It looks so great with huge forces though :)
I couldn't agree more with the pre orders running out, but it is a thing and this close to Christmas could be disappointing so worth pointing out 😬😅 I've not played many other games but I did try a couple of games of Star Wars Legion that uses alternate activations and it was very fun and involved but also felt like more to remember who had gone and who hadn't. I'd definitely like to see it experimented with!
That's ok! Legendary Legions are army lists designed to be matched to a specific moment in the book or film or part of Middle-earth. In some ways they're restrictive but in other ways they let create some really interesting mixes. "Men of the West" for example will be the good guys at The Black Gate and will let you take a mix of Gondor, Rohan and Eagles and give you bonuses for doing so. On the whole, it's a bit more restrictive but a lot more thematic
