This is an album that for me personally my favourite song changes with nearly every listen
The one trait in Zach Bryan's music that I think makes it so magical, is how honest and relatable the music is for me.
My girl and I just split so I probably shouldn’t listen to this album, but I’m going to anyways.
Hope you’re doing alright. My wife and I are currently separating after 12 years. These songs hurt so bad, but I’m gonna listen anyway.

I haven't quite figured out WHO Jake's Piano/ Long Island is about, but i think its an absolute lyrical masterpiece. Jakes Piano to me talks about being at peace with someones departure. Even though you miss that theyre gone, you love the parts they left behind. Long Island symbolizes the pain and anguish of the loss. The juxtaposition is amazing, and both songs on theyre own are awesome. Also, the voice crack in the second chorus of Long Island hits every single time

Zach has written songs for friends before. (Billy stay) This song could have nothing to do with him. Could be from a friends perspective on a girl he lost. Who knows. Only Zach does.
Zach bryan is a real one. It's not often I can hear the passion behind the voice in today's music. He will go down in the history books for being one of the most iconic writers of our time
My favorite song on this album is tourniquet. The way I interpret it is that you have had so much damage done to you from trying to love someone else and that you should love yourself. “Take care of the blood that your love runs through” (take care of yourself first then you can love)

Gotta do some Noah Kahan, absolutely blowing up, sang with Zach at his concerts, his production is amazing, but just like Zach, his lyrics are 12/10. Maybe even a better poet. Just amazing person and music. Recommend a full album reaction to the deluxe album of Stick Season. It will make you want to cry but miss your teenage years at the same time. Love your reactions bro

My grandmother was my best friend, she raised me, supported me, guided me. She showed me love nobody else did. The day she died, i lost myself. Still picking up the pieces today. Its been 6 years. This song has been one of the main contributions to my healing. Zach has saved more people's lives than he knows. Im so sorry for your loss and please know youre not alone.

When this album came out I sat by myself and listened top to bottom and read every lyric. I cried so hard. I felt like a different man when it was over.

East Side of Sorrow...Waited with my mom as she was dying from cancer. For days she wasn't conscious until finally passing after about 10 days in the middle of night while I slept in a chair next to her. Knowing someone else had a similar experience and shared it was a godsend. So many complicated feelings in an experience like that...but the sun was up the next day even if I didn't care if it ever did for a while.
This song hit my right in my feels man, I recently lost my mother due to heart failure, we were really close growing up and we got a little distant as i got older but then over the past few months leading up to her passing we were un-attachable. She is still with my everyday and part of me still thinks she is just off enjoying a vacation but deep down.. i know.. i lost her.. :(

Absolutely love the album. I honestly reccomend you should listen to a bit of The Lumineers. Doesn’t have to be react, but just listen to their music, their a band that’s also pretty raw with a lot of their stuff. And the reason ZB has them on this is because he got inspiration for writing songs from them and is a huge fan

My favorite song in his album is “El Diablo” reminds me of my late marine corps brother who passed on.
Jake's Piano / Long Island seems like a double song with a common theme to me. The first part sounds like a man remembering his father. The fishing knot he was taught. The best part of him is still here. All those lessons and good times, and the writer himself, literally still being there and the same blood as his father. The second part sounds like a love interest that is now losing their father. The thing that split them up and changed his hands from gentle to not hopeful might have been the toll his fathers death took on him.

As far as I can tell, Jake's Piano is another about his mother, who was also in the Navy. I think the knot is something she taught him in regards to his Navy blues. Take that with a grain of salt because I don't know much about that stuff. Then I think the 2nd half, long island, is talking about an ex.
