Wow, just wow. Just as skateboarding today blows away what I was doing on skateboards in the 70s, what you guys are doing blows away what we were doing on the original hard tails back in the 80s....back when it was Gary Fisher, Joe Breezer, Tom Ritchey and a few new "big brand" mountain bikes like Marin, Specialized, and Bridgestone.
I love riding with groups that like to stop and try features and such as well as going back and retrying things if you didn't make it the first time. Looks like so much fun!!!! Hardtails just go when you put the power down. Perfect for this sort of terrain.
Awesome video, Steve. I love these diversions from the product reviews that show you guys out there having an awesome time on the hardtails. Keep em coming!
@@hardtailparty Oh, for sure. I applaud him for riding it, but it's definitely a great example of where hardtails used to be and how much they've changed...ha
Some of that looked very similar to the porcupine rim. Cool ride...I'm going nuts not being able to ride. It'll be May or June before I can hit the trails again.
I was out in Sedona all last week, riding everything I could on my single speed. I should of reached out, I’m back in PA now. It’s such a huge playground in AZ and Utah, you guys have it good out there.👍🏽
I really need to get out west sometime. Those trails make mine look so boring! Maybe once I get a hardtail that can handle it. 😏 You buddy Cody can really stand out in a crowd. Super smooth rider, high skillset, plus has a bit of flare to his riding style. Really makes hard moves look simple. Almost looks like he's floating across stuff at times.
One of the places I would like to try out. I was going to finally make a trip to ride Gooseberry, but that got canceled 😞. Guess I will have to wait till 2023.
Sweat looking trail and great riding. I've ridden Gooseberry and Guacamole. Need to add Grafton and Little Creek to the list for the next opportunity I get to ride there.
That some great riding and skills. If I'm ever to visit you guys from Australia (and I will one day) , id love to do a ride with you! Love your channel mate!
Good riding with your Friends Steve. From 4:20 to 4:35 oh my (I don't like heights)...that looks pretty close to the edge. In saying that the country looks beautiful with some friendly folk along the way. Some good skills shown by all. Just sayin...I'd be getting alot of that Sun on my Body...very good for us. I know you like your hoody! Cheers.
I been looking at your videos in the last wk1/2 I know u r building a hardtail BUT what would you recommend for a 55 beginner full suspension or hardtail, I need to work on my endurance but I would like to buy a bike good enough that I would just upgrade instead of buying a whole new bike in the future thanks n I really enjoy the video, I have to say this is the 1st time I actually went on a ride, it was great, n the scenery
How are the 5Dev cranks holding up? I was gonna be smart and save with SRAM GX aluminum ones, but those space-grade cranks look so good! I didn’t know about 5Dev until today, thanks to your channel.
@@thomasamos4055 I'm sure i would. In a fan of being warm and dry, which is why I moved to the desert. That said, even when i lived in the snow i still found a way to ride my bike and enjoy it. I hope to visit the UK one day and ride your stuff. I just hope it's not in the dead of winter. :)
@@hardtailparty Wales is great but you can't guarantee good weather in summer. I had great days in spring but heavy rain and cold in summer. You should come and do a few videos here. It very rarely snows so you can get good days in autumn/winter too.
On this ride I was on my banshee paradox v3, Cody was on the BC Originals Podsol, and Funkle Carl was on a specialized fuze.
Does Cody still have the Vassago? That’s a sweet bike. This ride looks like a lot of fun. I want to visit the western US to ride sometime.
Watching riders like Cody is just amazing, it makes me want to continue to improve regardless if I can even come close to his skill level.
Same here. He's an amazing rider and a good friend. He really pushes me to improve.
@@hardtailparty i'm chasin u...and ur chasin Cody...I guess there's always someone to chase and push us.
Agreed, it really unlocks the beauty of the terrain, being able to traverse obstacles such as this.

Great video. Love to watch you guys get up those ledges.
It's such a fun area to explore.
Very cool to see the types of trails you ride in Utah; they're so different from what we have in New Zealand.
Yeah I'm riding in the Hawkes Bay and watching Steve makes me want to do a riding trip over to Sedona, looks sick
Awesome video, Steve. I love these diversions from the product reviews that show you guys out there having an awesome time on the hardtails. Keep em coming!
This video has loads of great footage of cool/skillful riding up, over and down some beautiful terrain. Thanks for sharing!
Great trail, great views and amazing riding on hardtails!!
That place looks amazing...
That dude with the Haro...I have a ~2003 Haro V3 that I use as a road bike now...I can't imagine using it on those trails.
Run what ya brung

Looks like a fun ride! That Utah rock is so grippy. I can’t believe the angles you guys are traversing on some of those slabs.
There's a 73 year old in the group? What an inspiration👍🙂
Nice to see the banshee again! Thou was hoping for your next binary video! Chomping at the bit to see it in 29 plus mode!
It's coming, but these things take time.
@@hardtailparty 👍
wow! cody knows what he's doing, and he's doing it really well.
So Cody is a beast. Nice work!
"Climbing is fun, kids!" - how true
That looks like a lot more fun than the cold and damp road ride I'm planning to do after work today...
When I grow up, I wanna ride like Cody.
THIS IS AMAZING! Great riding and terrain.
Looks like a ton of fun up there, great riding guys!
I love these hard trail videos
Greetings from Anchorage. Rode that on my El Mariachi years ago. Great trail.
What a cool trail!
Love seeing you ride in my backyard! Sick to see it done on a hard tail better than I can on a full sus! Hope you enjoyed your stay!
I love st George. I've been riding there for 22 years. Fun times.
I thought that dog was going to get run over on more than one occasion haha.

❤️ this channel and hardtails, peace from Germany
Hardtails on hard trails is my favorite youtube series!
Great video Steve. Always more fun with a good group of riders and the encouragement they provide one another. Really enjoyed this one.

Yes, and the California invasions are killing it all.

Hardtail, you using flats or clips on this one?
Flats. I've been having some knee pain lately and the flat pedals seem to help with that. I'm still chasing down what's causing it

Yooo that Cody dude Ripssss
To be able to do some of that stuff requires training or instruction? I mean bunny hops and going up the rocks like that?
All of the above and lots of time/practice. Clinics are some of the best money you can spend on mountain biking.
At 9:35 when I saw Cody riding back up the hill toward the rock drop I immediately thought, "WHAT? No way...."
That would have been insane. As always, it's steeper in real life.
More hardtails on hard trails, please!
I wanted to know what do think of the Bombtrack Cale AL 29er I just saw one for the first time and what a great looking bike.

The whole video i was trying to figure out what bike cody was riding.
Hoping you will do your ride review of the Trek Roscoe?
I will. I'm working on it.
what bike is Cody riding on?
Dumb question but how do you follow the trail?
This trail is really hard to follow. They have rock cairns and painted dashes on the rock to follow.
Do you run cliples or flats?
Both
