You should have a cast net with you I don't know how you don't know how to throw gas in it but you know you can watch TH-cam and they'll show you I know you don't like putting your mouth but you can put a rubber glove over the part that you put in your mouth and then throw it that way you make it perfect pancake
Hey flair you know them painted turtles go for like 60 to $80 a pop you probably need to get a hold of bears exotic ranch
Just to let you know, if you are ever planting the corn again, I suggest to plant them in a 2x2 square of corn stems. This will make it so that the corn can intercept more of the pollen. Thanks flair for the uploads❤️
We plant ours three seeds to a hill a couple inches apart an about 2 to 3 foot apart.
And only plant one variety at a time. Otherwise they cross pollinate and then you don't know what you've actually got at the end of the year.
It would be cool too see you have a fish tank in the house to put some of your rescues in to watch grow up

I think the turtle pond would be a great idea. I have a friend who has three or four turtles that started out that size and now they're easily the size of a softball. If they are on the rocks when people walk out there they usually dive in.

For your garden next year, mix in a TON of cow manure patties into the soil then plant. You'll notice higher yield in your harvest at a faster rate. As for watermelons, same procedure but lay some heavy tarp over the tilled manure soil...cut some holes about 3-4 feet apart and plant seeds. This allows watermelon to run freely and not get ruined by laying directly on the ground. Place Hay around the root base to let the excess water soak up into the roots during rainy season.

Did you ever try boiling the corn first so it softens it up or would that take too much of the flavor out ?
If the corn is ripe enough, once the water is boiling you only have to keep it in the pan for about 3 or 4 minutes.

tip for next spring on the garden: Use the same plot of land, but have some compost and top soil hauled in to start the seeds in. It's full of the nutrients you'll need to get better growth in all your plants.

Hint on the corn boiling for four minutes on the Cobb, then cutting it off and fry with the spices will cook it to the proper consistency

Back when I lived in south florida I worked at someone's house that had solar panels to power their home. They used some of their surplus energy to power a water pump they had in the canal behind their home. It was pumping water up to their house and basically made a creek from their front yard leading back to the canal. It was the coolest idea I had seen down there. It was deep enough to have fish and crayfish. Their home made creek was probably around 600ft in length an even flowed under their driveway.

Flair while the ranch hatcheries are dry you could line them with concrete and make them tanks to raise the bait, then maybe later on concrete a floor and put a canopy over it

Word of advice...when doing fried corn, you have to get it when it first comes on the stalk, maybe 2 weeks after at most. You want it to be tender and not rock hard from being in the sun. You can cut off cob and store in freezer ziplock bags.

Next time you go fishing for catfish, get some of those frozen shrimp for bait. When I go catfishing or fishing for like bluegills, I use shrimp for bait and it works great. I pinch off like thumbnail size pieces of shrimp for bait when I use large shrimp like those when fishing for bluegill.
