I agree about smaller hooks! I caught a NICE 42” Bull Red a few weeks ago on a 1/0 circle hook. I also used fishing thread and also caught 5 hardheads, and a 24” Black Drum all on the same piece of shrimp! 😂 I’ve learned a lot from your channel and even made my own salted dried shrimps! Next time, I’ll leave out the garlic, though. That meal looked great too! Thanks for sharing.

When I was a kid, those little bubble holes on the river were either from a snail or a baby turtle. I used to catch tons of baby turtles in the 70s by just looking for bubble holes in the sand.
I was so stupid to release the pompano when I caught it in Florida years ago, that was my very first time to do surf fishing which I enjoyed it so much! I am from Hong Kong, I know how tasty of the fresh catch. I heard your dad speaks Cantonese , not sure he is from Hong Kong, maybe? Anyway, my hubby and I are planning a trip to Pawleys Island, SC in April, I will do surf fishing for sure! :)
I know that you moved to Florida not to long ago, but have you find out from the locals what is the best time to fish for pompanos from the surf and the pier, I am planning to take my sister and her boyfriend to Jacksonville soon, and I would loved for them to catch some fish.
Umm I think you should be more precautious because you should of had the kill switch on you and you should of had a life jacket since it was the first time using the engine after repair so next time please be more cautious so you don’t get hurt love watching your videos and take care 😊

Do you guys have a catch and cook on jacks? We Filipino’s soak them in garlic, coconut vinegar and soy sauce overnight then fry them.
Have not tried that before! Sounds amazing. I have deep fried them before and covered them with sweet and sour sauce. It was a solid 6.5/10 for me
