To jest prawdziwy obraz, jak konie były, są, będą SZANOWANE i traktowane na Podhalu. Media tego nie pokazują, bo lepiej sprzedaje się wersja "jak to górale konie katują biją, głodzą...". Kto może, niech rozpowszechnia ten film w internecie (na stronach, forach dyskusyjnych itd), aby pokazać Polakom prawdę o traktowaniu koni, ich miejscu w naszej kulturze i tradycji oraz szacunku górali dla koni!!!

Nie każdy góral jest taki jak mówisz, są górale, którzy naprawdę kochają swoje konie, a są i tacy, którzy traktują je jako dobry sposób na zarobek. Spotkałam na przykład w centrum Zakopanego górala, który miał 5 koni i jednego sprzedawał, dostał ofertę, że ktoś chce tego konia kupic do Morskiego Oka, nie sprzedał go jednak.... Według mnie górale, którzy bryczkami wożą turystów do MO, to nie szanują i nie kochają swoich koni.

The Polish Animals Rights NGOs have appealed several times to the Director of the Tatra National Park (TNP), as well as to the local government to stop immediately the animal abuse on the Road to the Morskie Oko lake in the Tatra National Park. The horses that work in TNP pulling carts with tourist (the road is closed for cars) die not only in the slaughterhouses, but they also die of exhaustion during and after their work. When animal rights activists finally desperately tried to stop the overloaded carts, the owners and the carters tried to pass through the peaceful protesters with their carts. Some of the carters have also severely beaten several the protesters. The conflict between the Tatra National Park, the local government on one side, and Animals Rights Activists on the other, started in 2009, when one of the tourists filmed a horse dying on the road. The road to Morskie Oko Lake is a steep, 7 kilometers-long road, where 2 horses are forced to pull a wagon with up to 16 people on it. The data gathered by the Polish Horse Breeders Association show that since the 1st January 2012 until the first half of June 2013, 44 horses were taken to the slaughterhouse. Some of them were as young as 4-years old, and had worked on road for a couple of months only. During the same period, three horses died, among those, two in August (the peak of the tourist season). To resume: during 18 months, 20% of horses died (one in five). Horses killed in slaughterhouses worked on the road only for 10,8 months on average. There was an examination performed regarding the overloading of the carts. It has been revealed that the total amount of the overload is of almost 1000 kilograms! However, the true situation of the horses is even worse, considering the fact that in the wintertime they have to pull sleights on the asphalt road not covered by snow at all. ‘We tried to investigate the overloading issue under such conditions, but we were unable to find the sleight-asphalt friction coefficient anywhere!’ says Cezary Wyszyński, Head of the Viva! Foundation, ’ It is however easy to explain why there is no coefficient of sleight-asphalt friction! Nowhere else in the world, but in the TNP, people have tried to make horses pull sleights on asphalt, instead of snow’ - he adds with bitterness. ‘And, ironically, this happens in the middle of the Tatra Mountains, on the road to one of the most beautiful lakes in the World!’ ‘The Polish law states that horses (and other animals) shouldn’t pull weights that are too heavy for them, and if that happens it is considered mistreatment or even torture’, says Beata Czerska from OTOZ (Animal Protection Agency). ‘The horses have to work too hard; they are overloaded by almost 80%. They pull almost 1000 kilograms too much’, she explains. The fact that these horses are constantly overloaded on a public road, in the middle of the national park is a serious problem and we have to deal with it appropriately. The overload should be considered a crime of animal mistreatment and torture, which is punishable according to the Polish law with the sentence of up to 2 years. When Animal Rights organizations informed the local government and the law enforcement agencies about the crime, none of them reacted for over 2 following months. Finally on the 9th of November 2014, animal rights activists from all over Poland, decided to take matters in their own hands, and to prevent further animal torture. They protested by sitting on the road to Morskie Oko. They did not block the road totally, they let the automobiles belonging to the TNP and pedestrians go through. Unfortunately the carters’ owners have decided to break through them with the horse-pulled carts, fully loaded with people. ‘Every fully loaded wagon weights around 3000 kilograms’, says Anna Plaszczyk from Viva! Foundation,’ It’s hard to believe that the wagon owners didn’t realize that it could end in gravely injuring, or even killing somebody. The poor horses were pulled by their harness towards the sitting people by their owners, even though they resisted fiercely. They did not want to step on the sitting people; they showed stress, pulled sideways, even stood on their hinder legs! All this in the middle of a crowd‘. ‘It is a real miracle that nobody was killed’ - she adds. Moreover, during the protest, some other incidents took place. Two animal rights activists were seriously injured as several men wearing traditional highlander outfits, attacked them with metal objects. One of the activists was taken to the hospital with broken ribs and some facial bones fractured. Another activist, a woman, was purposefully hit with metal ladder and suffered fractured shinbone as well as damaged ligaments in the ankle. Animal rights activists participating in the protest were shocked by the fierceness of the attack; the horse owners did not hesitate to hit, slap or push, not only men, but also women protesters. Currently there are around 300 horses working on the road to Morskie Oko. The Polish Animal Rights Organizations call for a total ban of the horses pulled wagon transport in the Tatra National Park. They are more than willing to adopt all the horses to prevent the owners from selling them to the slaughterhouses. There is an official petition available online to stop horse wagon transport in the TNP. It has been signed by over 100 of Polish Animal Rights NGOs and also by over 90 000 Polish citizens who support the cause and are concerned about animal mistreatment at the National Park.
Plus fact that Silesians and Polish Thoroughbreds that are in vast majority there working are way too tall and heavy. There is no even one mountain breed horse there. Why !!!!

Konie na zdjeciach sa niskie (ok150cm w klebie), sa konmi ras gorskich . Kiedys gorale rozumieli co to przeznaczenie hodowlane. Uzywali koni z szacunkiem. Dzis te dziady haruja konmi nizinnymi I jeszcze udaja gorali, udaja ze dbaja i ze sie znaja. Slazaki I S.P. to nie da konie w gory !!! Mecenasie
Nigdy w Polsce nie hodowano koni ras górskich, oprócz hucułów. Konie zimnokrwiste pojawiały się w hodowli po I wś. W Austrii, Szwajcarii, Niemczech, Włoszech owszem. Ale nie w Polsce. Górale kochają konie szlachetne i takie zawsze mieli. I nie prawda jest te bzdury, które tu się pisze, że taki koń nie sprawdzał się w górach.

Górale wożących ludzi na MO są porządnymi ludźmi. Konie wymieniają i dbają o nie bo to ich środek pracy.
