Loved this thing in BF4. Before they nerfed it, it was king of the map, hands down. Enemy jets? No problem. Enemy helicopters? Easy. Enemy tanks? What enemy tanks? Infantry? Pink mist.
I was a jet pilot back then and I didn't like it at all. But I know where you are coming from.

@@Wassenhoven420 Nah nah nah, nerfed. It was balanced because as soon as you got into a pissing match with an APC, you were toast. They have ATGM's and punishing AP rounds.

Stingers are plenty usable if you use them at the right time. Like, wait for them to make a couple passes first so they lose speed and get distracted. The best time is when they are making a strafing run on someone else or when they are close to the peak of a yo-yo
Yeah they're ok when timed right. IRL even the *very first* Stinger variant, the FIM-92A, could pull 22Gs. And that's just the earliest one; the LAV-AD carries the FIM-92K, basically the most capable Stinger available today.
Honestly Gaijin went overboard with the counter-flare ability and gave it waaaay too little pull instead. You effectively cannot flare any of the Stinger variants in War Thunder. There should be a progression in countermeasure resistance between the variants but there isn't. They should make the earlier Stingers have higher G overload with lower flare resistance
well if i wait a couple passes i might aswel not kill it, by then the enemy plane already killed my team and i failed my job as AA

What makes the A10s brrrt sound so violent is the actual shells hitting the ground and WT is exactly missing this.
Besides the quiet explosions from the muzzle blast of the A10, the mechanism sounds spot on.
Watch some F16 or Tornado strafing runs.
The BRRRRRT we know comes first from the impact, and then the death fart of the aircraft's gun
Basically the A10 has explosive diarrhoea 👌
Death fart is the perfect description for that sound
It depends where you are in relation to the gun firing. If you're in the aircraft you're not going to hear the rounds hit the ground.
Also, most of the videos we see of the A-10 are from the middle east, in sparsely vegetated, or hilly terrain which help to amplify and echo it.

I would like to remind you guys, that this vehicle is the same BR as the Sidam Mistral. It is faster, has more ammo, more missiles, longer range, more ap ammo, better pen, can't be pen'd from a 12.7 at 500m, and only a 1k higher rp.

Having lived near a shooting/bombing range for the A10 etc in Lincolnshire U.K., that noise is NOWHERE NEAR the actual noise the A10 makes in reality! I'm not sure how a Russian company would get access to record a real A10 shooting its Gatling gun!

18:48 the indicator assumes level flight in a straight line, so yes, it is always a bit off
And constant speed, so in a dive it is vital to shoot a little before the lead indicator since the plane is speeding up, opposite thing in a climb.

Gaijin really need to address the map problem. It wouldn’t take much to do so.
Most maps are either too small or too open spawns or both.
They need to make top tier dedicated maps and get rid of the low tier maps from the rotation. Again it would not take gaijin long to do this.

Another LAV-AD video of penetrating better than the stock belt, which *does* have fewer AP shells. Does it that make that much of a difference when you have that AP belt?

War Thunder hasnt nailed the brrrt yet, you're supposed to hear first the rounds hitting you, and if you dont die after 2 to 3 seconds or your not the target, you hear the BRRRRRRRRT and then a desdly fart sound and then the A10 engine sound comes in

what is the dif between FIM-92 E and K? all the stats seem identical
The K gets a proximity fuze if I'm not mistaken, whereas the E has to hit directly.

So I am just curious, because no one seems to know either on WT's forums, Phly makes the comment "it would be great if we could chat to them WT." I just came back to WT after a few months away from the game and discovered that you can't chat to the teamates anymore or enemies, why? Like it says "chat unavailable"
I thought I was chat banned at first but then realized I wasn't, the chat was disabled. So...did they disable it because of toxic peeps or? Like what gives? I used to be able to communicate to my teammates and say like "hey, Abrams over there" etc, but now you can't...World of Warships PTS does the same thing, not sure if this is a new "trend" in games to silence the chats or whatever but it's frustrating...if anyone has an answer as to why they did this, would be helpful to know at least.
