Great video! I have a quick question: how do you match a camera to a 2D concept and begin shaping the block out? For example, if there are no blueprints available for an asset like a spaceship, and there's only an image in perspective view, how do you approach creating basic shapes to match the proportions and silhouette? And how do you move on from there to paneling and adding detailed intricacies? A video demonstrating your workflow for modeling something complex would be really helpful!

bro, you should definitely do a series like: "From begginer to pro" or something like that. Where you show how we can improve from a simple model like a donut to a complex one like that mosquito you showed us

Hey! thanks for the comment and suggestion! I am certainly thinking about creating some longer video series like that.

A tutorial on how you go about modelling an aeroplane, like the Mosquito would be outstanding!

You said that you started with Blender, I'm curious what resources you might have to start creating things in Maya. I'm interested because from most of the modeling jobs that I have seen they expect us to learn 3ds max and Maya, both softwares of which have been very daunting for me to jump into.

Hi, thanks for the comment! Yeah so I started dabbling in 3D initially with Blender and 3Ds Max, then went to Maya from there. I would say a great place to start learning Maya is through TH-cam channels. I learned a lot from MH Tutorials. He does a lot of short but really helpful tutorials for Maya and other softwares. Academic Phoenix Plus has some great tutorials on Maya as well. If you would like a specific guide or tutorial on Maya and its tools, let us know and we can make some videos for you!

Great video! Do you offer any kind of mentorship? I'm learning 3D modeling in Cinema4D, and I need someone to maybe check my mesh and give me feedback on it. Not sure if this is something you would be interested in

Thank you! We do not currently do any kind of mentorship, though we may do in the future. But we would be happy to give you some feedback on your mesh if you like!
