Wow!! What a wonderful, loving thing to do! These items are precious! A little bit of leftover turned into something so useful, and adorable. Perhaps these children will never know how much time and energy you put into these items, but they most assuredly will love and appreciate using these items regularly. You are amazing!
Thank you for such encouraging words. I hope they give them many years of use, too, as I try to make them sturdy in hopes they will last. ~ Cheryl from the Simply Shoeboxes family.
You guys do such a great job! Those dolls are beautiful... It would be so neat to make a couple different skirts for the child to change the dolly and play dress up. Thanks for the inspiration!
You are welcome, Charlotte. Motivation is half the battle of completing items. I find it helpful to have a crafting partner to keep motivated. I have two I keep in contact with online -- one on the West coast and one on the East. We don't have to get together we can just share thru emails and it keeps us going. Would love to hear what you like to craft. ~ Cheryl from Simply Shoeboxes
@@SimplyCherryL Hi. I have a crafting partner too, My mother-in-law. I love knitting! I make hats, mittens, puppets and purses. I hand sew pencil cases too.
@@charlottesshoeboxes3230 That's great your mother-in-law crafts with you. Mine died in 2001 but I inherited a lot of her fabric that I am still using. I would love to learn to knit, I think the items are of high quality and look so nice. Thanks for sharing with me what you craft.
Thank you so much for sharing. So fascinating to what you make to put in boxes. I'm loving your bags!! You said you didn't make the dolls, can you share where did you got them? My favorite is the book bags you made.
Thank you, Christy, for your encouraging words. I get so nervous making these videos that I forget what I want to say, can't think of words and seem to stutter. I felt more relaxed in the second half of this one, maybe I'd eventually relax if I kept making them. Did you get your sewing machine? ~ Cheryl
No I didn’t, but I’ve still been collecting items for shoeboxes. It’s amazing how the Lord provides when you ask and then keep your eyes open! I have a friend who sews, so I’m going to try to get together once she’s back from Florida. I have a feeling that was God’s plan all along. 😊 I’ll keep you posted.
We haven't had much time to write/video tutorials of late, but here's the info we have written up on some of those: www.simplyshoeboxes.com/p/crafts.html
Enjoyed your video! Hope you'll keep posting. I'm fairly new to sewing, but I have taught myself to make drawstring bags and zippered pencil cases by watching You Tube videos. :) I'm enjoying it!
Yes, I am so blessed to have inherited hundreds of yards of fabric. I will be able to sew for years to come on what I already have. I could never afford to buy it all. I have in the past used clothing, as long as it was like new it can be cut and sewn into things for the boxes. Garage sales and thrift stores are a great place to find them; the larger the size the more the fabric. I hope you find a way to obtain some fabric for sewing. ~ Cheryl
