    I've bought this pedal like 4 months ago, and played in several gigs, and man, this sounds amazing even live (for it's price...)...

      Still holding your word? I found one very cheap.. will buy it 😂 I hope it’s good even just for bedroom practicing, I have pedalboards but too lazy to setup if practicing only 2 -3 songs.

      @saidsuaste5186 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Do you think that is good enough for covers? I do covers in TH-cam and want to buy one for my guitar and my bass

    • @divertinguincp
      @divertinguincp 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@onzkicg it is perfect for practice, but if you want to make it sound decent on distortions you have to spend time eq-ing lol

    • @divertinguincp
      @divertinguincp 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@saidsuaste5186 it can be good for covers with the right configuration on your amp, and running it through the effects loop can be useful for that. But if you want cheap gear for covers, I'd recommend you spending on an interface (Behringer has a really cheap one that works decently), and there are good free vsts plugins (STL Tones) to start with

    I bought a used one a few days back and await its arrival. This video is hands-down the best available on TH-cam. You present well, you don't waste time with talking about your feelings and you showcase the unit quickly and effectively. Cheers to you and thank you for making such a helpful introduction video. Respect.

      It does sound amazing to be that cheap of a price!!

      You REALLY wanna know? These types of products and smaller amps are SO high selling and profitable that the majority of comments are astroturfed by marketers using fake accounts (check their profiles - they are only friends with each other), in addition to posting thousands of comments saying "X is the best thing ever!" they also do a lot of work dissing competitors products "I bought this and now I have cancer". This is a good product and cheaper than its competitors so its getting flak from all sides.

      Mine as well,had a slight switches issue and went crazy a couple of times but turning it off fixed it every time,the switches fixed themselves with a bit of repeated stomping and more usage and now is tip top after three+ yrs of constant practice ,i use a line selector and mostly using the other loop with dry distortred heavy crunch (bheringer tm300),the vox all sounds with fx,both boosted with a ge7,weather in the yucatan peninsula really fs things, still amazed by both the vox and the place,cheers!!

    Got a Stomplab 2G about a month ago after reading some online reviews & loving it. Running it into an old JCM 800 50watt combo & it sounds really good, my biggest worry was the modulation would sound too "artificial" on such a cheap pedal but it's great. Would highly recommend for anyone on a budget!

    I know this video is old, BUT if you want to play live with this unit (and run to the board/mixer), remember to edit settings to line out. A DI box is strongly recommended and if you have a cab sim pedal (using a Hotone), this thing sounds amazing. Yes, it does have cab sims in the pedal, but it doesn’t let you edit like a dedicated cab sim pedal. Oh, and Google is your friend for indepth programming. 😉

    • @blacktoothfox677
      @blacktoothfox677 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      - Am likely getting one. Would you say that is the main drawback? I can see it's gonna be clunky to program the patches. Is it 100 preset, 20 user- patches? Will be going into clean Fender amps, both tranny & tube; But also, I'd like to ask if you've ever gone direct to desk / recording device outta that stereo jack? (coz I assume it's a stereo/mono switching jack, meaning if you use a stereo out into 2 channels or a stereo channel, its a balanced signal at line level, low impedance). it seems a lot of bang for ya buck. Thanks Duncan, hope you and yours stay happy & healthy over this holiday period. - UK

    I just bought the device with the expression pedal. (Waiting on shipping so this is just research at This point) Going to be referring back to this video alot. I knew I wanted a few effects along with a tuner and a noise gate for a good price. Figured vox is a good brand. I knew it had several preamp and od/dist , and the 2g has a pedal for wah and other expression, but JFC that is a heck of a lot of effects for the price of one regular pedal or a few cheap ones or half or a third of a high end pedal. And it's a vox.

    Looks and sounds really nice! 100 factory presets are fine provided they sound well and they seem to do. User presets look guite embarassing to set, you can only do it manually, but it will do. And- you get the Vox thing for that price!

    Totally agree with Hyde1415's comments.. I bought one myself, the 2G model with expression pedal -- and I love it man!!! I've been using the Line 6 POD XLT/Live floor unit for several years - and though it has many more options than this Vox does, frankly, the Vox has better tone and gives more bang for the buck. I paid over $450 for the Line 6, but the Vox was $90 and frankly blew my Line 6 POD XLT/Live right off the floor, sound-wise!!

      Yago Crispim I bought this unit compare to my Line 6 POD 2.0 before and Digitech GNX3, it has better tone simple, multiple function and I buy it only 65$ for new one.. its very cheap and so powerful... like this unit so much

    • @yagocrispim0
      @yagocrispim0 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      dendi priatna Dude, i bought it for R$ 450,00. With all the taxes in my country, the price is a little bit high. it's about 193$... But that price for the equipment here, its a really good price. Its is a unit, and by far better than my digitech Rp50. The sound is just amazing. It is perfect. And since i don't have money for a set of pedals, it is a great deal.

    • @dendipriatna9995
      @dendipriatna9995 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yago Crispim Wow what a big taxes, but you have smart choice,i'm looking a simple, small, practical and powerful sound in this unit... and its all available here, just need an extra wah pedal and or whammy... done.. its complete for me

    • @yagocrispim0
      @yagocrispim0 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dendi priatna you have no idea. An Electro Harmonix Big Muff pedal cost about 70$ in the us. It is R$500,00 here. Its about 215 dollars. It's Crazy! But about the stomplab, i got the 2g, with the expression pedal. It is great, and it do all i want, at least for now. The sound is amazing, either on valve amps or solid state. I tested it on a friend's Vox AC30, and it blew my mind. it's so powerfull. I use it on an Orange Crush pix 35. it is still perfect. I wound not go with another unit.

    I'm assuming there is only up and down mobility between patches. So during a LIVE performance with the user defined patches, one would have to sequence them properly. Meaning not having to jump over high-gain distortion patch to access (up or down) a clearer chorus or flanger. Ideally not to have a sound spike while traveling between one preset to another. Would this be a correct assertion.?

    This pedal, would be effective to use x effect loops, only for modulation effects? I'm not really interested in amps simulators. Would it yield in that way?

    What "GBL" (A1, A2, A3, Ln) category settings should I use if I connect my guitar to a VOX VX I amplifier?

      One video shows connection to fender mustang (in spanish). I think it's useful for modelling amps th-cam.com/video/lsz_zzBcazw/w-d-xo.html

      @@franciscocalderon6826 jaja súper. Este yotuber argentino explica cómo conectarlo a los amplis de modelado, que no se llevan muy bien. Alguna vez tuve el VXII y tenía problemas con los pedales análogos, porque al rato de hacer un cambio en los pedales conectados, el ampli no tiraba volumen. Y antes de comprarme la stomplab (nueva), probé una usada en el mismo VXII y no salió volumen... así que ojo ahí con la compatibilidad: tal vez habría que ver el ampli en "line" para que anule efectos y deje pasar la señal (creo que es lo que hacían en el video). Saludos

    Well done, friend. Easily the best of a multitude of demos on this intriguing device. I'm 73 and living as far out in the sticks in east KY as you can get, so I'm a bit intimidated by LED screens, little blinking lights and things that beep a lot! After watching your presentation, however, I'm ready to take the plunge and get one of these "devil boxes," as one old picker up the branch calls them. Wondering where in Western Europe you're from--Holland maybe? Anyhow, many thanks!

    Amazing review! But what do you prefer guys, Digitech Rp55 or Vox Stomplab IG?

  • @SPcodefendant

    Sorry, forgot to ask: (like Tim Htike (below)) Could you explain how to use the IIG as (several) single effects pedals saved on the u1-10 in the most logical manner? I would guess that you could save your favorite "amp model" on u"evens" and then 5 different effects pedals on u"odds"... and do the same for U"odds".

      Yeah dude, thats possible, by pressing both stomp switches at the same time, the pedal is bypassed :)

    I love the reviews you guys made and Harry Maes is an exceptional player! But I still don't understand how you can program the StompLab to use BOTH 1. Amp Models and 2. Overdrive/Distortion at the SAME TIME. It seems you can only choose one, or the other. For example, I want to choose clean amp model c7 (cali clean 3) with drive model o4 (gold drive) - is this possible?

      socialdef3 i believe that you can use up to 5 or 6 effects at the same time.

      Sarunam yes, except an amp and overdrive at the same time.
