Tahm's one of those champs that I feel has just been semi-broken since he came into the game, one way or another. I feel like he's always been pretty strong and super fun to play. Actually love that we got 2 games out of Pekin for this one. :)
Yeah I have mixed feelings on him.
On one hand, his q and w are dodgable and missable skillshots that if he misses he has a relatively big window to be punished.
On the other hand, his e and r can give himself and an ally a really big fucking shield. And maybe, 3 niggas can build Serpent's.
He's just annoying if anything I wouldn't say he's overpowered (him being able to throw you under turret is also annoying as hell but I play K'sante so. I mean tbf you have to work a lot harder to do it with K'sante but still)
Love him but I do feel a lot of people don't build against him enough in matchups which makes him even stronger.
Because they changed his E to be substantially weaker when only fighting 1 or 2 champs, he lost a lot of 1v1 power.
Swallowing as his W was also better for laning and abusing laners.
His new W and new E make him unstoppable in ARAM, but on rift he's gotta work REALLY hard to get there and even then like you said his W is giga dodgeable.
If they keep buffing his AP ratios like they have been maybe he returns to the meta, until then it's just a niche worse version of Leona/Shen
He was pretty bad for a long time before his rework. Most of his existence has been at 47% winrate or lower.

Hey pekin, I don't really play tahm much but I know a trick you can do in which you q and then spit them out with r during the q animation to hit them with it very early. I think it makes it almost impossible to dodge but i might be wrong.
Yes, you q around the 4th blink tahm does.
7:00 i can only think of Nami W bounces as another example of % scaling based on how much AP you buy which is similar (though not the same of course).

Titanic 2nd instead of Nashor's works even better. Gives more HP, about the same on-hit, better waveclear, and when you do eventually build Nashor's you benefit even more from its AP than if you had built it 2nd. Tahm Kench balanced champ btw

i'm new to the game but started as a kench otp and thought it was just a problem because of high ping, but once i started to branch out i literally never experienced it with another champ
while i love playing kench, his non-existent wave clear + auto cancels make it super easy to fall behind in cs, which is especially frustrating since his first actual powerspike is usually 2 whole items deep (unless you go rift instead of heartsteel)

How do you think Rod of Ages would do on AP Tahm? Then you're getting a good amount of HP and AP from your first item.
The mana is really quite useless, so it's not as good because you just waste a stat
Heartsteel is literally infinite HP scaling. So why would you go RoA, which needs 10 minutes to stack, when you can get a stat that benefits you, like Veigar or Nasus stacking, greatly the longer the game goes.

Except Heartsteel stacks health infinitely which means an infinitely scaling AP ratio (which is great for long games).

Sylas almost killing you level 3 is why I genuinely don't like taking teleport. Literally every time I take it, I lose kills because no ignite
While that can be true, don't forget that people are playing differently based on sums.
People playing against tp users are able to play more risky and get low BECAUSE you took teleport. And likely wouldn't have gone for the more aggressive trading and positioning had you had ignite.
You still definitely gain more kill pressure with it than without it.
But just wanted to point out many of the kills you "lose" because no ignite, may not have been lost at all because you wouldn't have gotten that same position if you had ignite.
Important thing to think about when weighing your summoner choice.
Sylas screwed himself over regardless. Plenty of times he could have crushed Pekin early.

Starving senna? If she's on your team, then she'd get a ton of wraths if you're the adc/apc.... wtf are you talking about?
@@Dyanosis starving senna is senna support with a tank as the botlaner instead of marksman adc. so tahm is most common, but you can also do it with cho, Sion, basically any tank. the point is to have senna act as the adc in terms of dealing damage, and have a tank that farms and has cc for senna to play from

Infinite health scaling with HeartSteel or RoA, which takes 10 minutes to stack and gives you more mana than you could ever need making it pretty useless in that regard. I'd say no to RoA.

Yes it doesn’t matter. Even a 300% scaling means nothing if you have 0 ap.
