The crew quarters on this are nicer than a lot of cabins in small cruisers. Honestly, I would love to crew on one of these.

What a Vessel, so Beamy! The tour inside looks as big as a house! I bet if you blindfolded someone,took them below, take off blindfold and let them have a look see, they would not think they’re on a yacht! Unless they’re familiar with them.

Great review Toby, still everybody had to stand at 30 degrees all the time while sailing. Sorry to say, show me a cat at the same price and conditions, and they'ed all been sitting around sipping Margeritas!

@@yachtingworld While we understand Carbon allows more favorable mass distribution, Carbon hull, spars and rigging and then tons of added lead ballast in a monohull seems almost counterproductive. Carbon for a multihull seems more beneficial, so it would be interesting to see how theirs turns out.

So can the owner essentially sail it with just one other person i.e. a couple?
I think it means he can have a smaller crew. That's a big, expensive boat, a professional crew is probably a wise investment.
@@dahveed284 I just would never buy something that big because I might want to walk around in the nude with my girl. I asked in hope that these yachts are technologically advanced where they can almost sail themselves.
@@johnrussell519 You have your priorities right! What's the point in sailing the tropics if you have to wear clothes around your love while sailing in a vast ocean. I suspect this boat has the ability to be safely sailed by just 2 people. 4 people would allow for a greater safety factor.
The challenge on this boat is the shear scale of it. An 105' sailboat is going to have a big rig and more people is better for working those more powerful sails. There are many many examples of people singlehand sailing across major oceans in smaller boats. And husband and wife sailing team doing passages is very common. But 4 is still better.

In this layout it appears to only have an owners stateroom and 1 guest cabin? Really???
There are two further guest cabins that we didn't show for a total of 8 berths

Why do they tilt to one side
It tilts to the side where the fattest person on the boat stands. As the Captain of the boat, you always have to keep an eye on the crew to spot the fattest one. And tell him or her to stand always in the middle of the boat.
But sometimes the fat is a bit stubborn and doesn't comply, then this happens!
I cant believe how shallow and unprotected the cockpit is
The freeboard is low too. I think it's a style to cut air drag from the hull. The bow is so far away from the cockpit that spray might also be diminished there. But yes, not much protection.
Why do these sailing super yachts never have any protected outdoor space?

Highly inviting video! Thank you! As a fan of South African wines, I would not leap far to SA boats. The Boer beat the Zulu to the Transvaal.
That said, It has appeared to me for some time that there is an optimal boat for crew-less sailing. (Is there a market for that? I will pay for for a proposal including sales projections. Contact me offline.) Include the crew and introduce the social question. E.g., I am not a Hapsburg. Nonetheless, in recorded human history, sailing adventures have been, among others, equalizing projects.
Or is your Socialism so exorbitant that you would deny the meritorious their due? Yes? = Totalitarianism.
Can't we all just go fluid-dynamic? Like, do the math? Teach that math?
I think that push-button "sail handling" takes all the fun out of sailing...
With jib sheet loads approaching 9 tons you absolutely need hydraulic assistance, however dressing a winch is still a manual affair. Best of both worlds imo.
I don't care how much money I have to burn; yachts over 70 f make for a nonsensical purpose. You're basically paying a couple million for allocated to the crew. Plus, you're paying a couple hundred thousand dollars a year for a crew. That said, as long as this isn't my boat and I'm flipping the bill, I'd be super happy to be onboard
key to a high performing crew: a powerful crew supervisor with an iron fist and feared.
seriously, i'm not kidding. it sucks being a servant, and labor grows tired and ambivalent, and having strong management is KEY. the employees aren't that important. but an iron fisted (yet fair) boss will squeeze amazing performance out of employees. do not get a weak "i'm you're friend" supervisor. for labor class jobs you want a no-bullshit supervisor. professionals are managed completely differently.
an iron-fisted and hard-working supervisor (yet fair) and above-market pay to crew will get you the best performance.
sadly, try to get a crew of the same race and culture. they just work well together.
This is a disgusting waste of resources.
