Motorguide xi5 Trolling Motor SWUP22 Software Update (Using Simrad NSS NMEA 2000 Network No Dongle

In this video I walk you through installing the new 2022 Motorguide xi5 and xi3 Trolling Motor Software update.
This update is done through the NMEA 2000 Network using a connected
Simrad or Lowrance MFD. No Dongle is required You will need to download the file to a 16GB or 32GB micro SD card.

It sure does which is great, it helps me remember to disconnect the power before charging!

Their warranty is use less, if the motor fails you’re screwed, it will take months to get it back. $1,800 down the drain.

I did the update and now my gps function won’t work. Xi5 will not connect to satellite. Motor guide was no help. Ordered a gps module for 400+ $, waiting on it to arrive.

hi , it looks like you did this on an imac, or apple device , on the motorguide page it says not compatible with ios? is this so?

We are not running any software for this update, simply navigating the motorguide website from my google chrome website. Mac or PC doesnt really matter I, Just download the update file and add it to your SD card for your unit. The update is done from your Unit. Hope that helps, Thanks for watching

It definitely helped every once in a while it acts like it s gonna start again but power reset fixes it. Before it didn’t matter nothing fixed it
