or a a rlly good single jump trade route which gives u 12 mil in a round trip which takes like 8 min avg per round trip. In an hour you can get over 70 mil pretty easily. One or two hours constant grinding a day for like 2 weeks, boom 1 billion. From there maybe 2 months and ur at 5 billion. Type-9 crippled to the point of only cargo racks and bare minimum FSD in a trade route is the way to go for sure. Not that fun, but still cool just being able to buy out anything and everything and knowing it wasn't rlly cheating
Well now that you've got a fleet carrier, you now have to grind harder than Grind Hard Plumbing Co to pay the weekly upkeep (5.000.000 cr for a BONE STOCK carrier; and can easily rise up to 30.000.000 cr when you install all optional services and turn it into a space station that can make hyperspace jumps into other systems and is named after a visual novel whose acronym rhymes with "tea coal")
naming the ship the andromeda ascendant was pretty cool. i really liked the show andromeda but so few people have ever seen it now. the nostagia was real for a minute there lol.

There's only one carrier in the game. You can put skins on it like regular ships to slightly change the design, but they're all the same size and have the same functionality.

I did a lot of mining, mostly painite when they were selling at high prices. I also did a lot of tritium trading when fleet carriers were first introduced. But this got nerfed later, so I bought a Python and did the Robigo passenger missions daily. I also did the road to riches, which helped.
A quick way of making credits is doing the passenger run at Robigo. Bring a Python with cabins installed and pick up all the passenger missions you can handle in one trip. Each trip can net you about 15-20 million depending on your standing with the faction. I also spent hours upon hours of mining .

It doesn’t work like that… You have to put money into the carrier bank. It doesn’t come out of your personal funds. Besides, you could do one massacre mission and have already paid off a months worth of upkeep, it’s just the tritium that gets ya.
What I see - beloved DBX in action with fuel scoop of course. Explorer with fleet carrier. I am also preparing to buy this one for exploration. Upkeep is nothing if You know what make money in deep space. After last updates 15Mc per hour is easy task if You know how to select best candidate systems for scans. More problem is tritium, but with money and STAR/DSSA fleet support ii's also easy to deal with.

for people who play seriously and use every trick they can ED has a lot of free money laying around. I've only been back a few weeks and don't play seriously at all and make around 1 million an hour now. if I used every trick there's was that would go up 10x so a billion isn't impossible alone.

I'm 2 half weeks on ED now but already making 1 bil worth of credits just by doing pirates hunt and bit of massacre which sometimes sucks to do alone thats why I stick on pirate hunting, but yeah, gaining good relationship with minor faction is the best decision to do :D grays for the FC, ya did great with what you've done ^^ I'm 1 rank away from my Corvette and p sure gonna rush my way to carrier after, but yeah I didn't recommend rushing either :D

With a passenger Python (without a shield or cargo holds), you can make 20 million in one trip on the Robigo-run. Heck, you can get 5-10 million per trip in a Dolphin. A round trip (picking up tourists from Robigo Mines, travelling 60ly to the Sothis system (3 jumps if you save as much weight as possible while adding an A-class fsd and passenger cabins), super-cruising to and scanning the Sirius Atmospherics tourist beacon which orbits Sothis A5 and returning) takes about 10-15 minutes, which (if you're using the aforementioned Python) can make you about 100 million per hour (if you've maxed your reputation). *I suggest avoiding wanted passengers as transporting them will have you interdicted and will result in the other passengers being dissatisfied.
In 9/10 scenarios a docking computer is faster than manually landing. You can also decide how much automation to give it on dockings anyway. A deep explorer wouldn't need one. But if a DBX is simply fitted as a high-jump taxi for moving around civilized space then a docking computer is simply more efficient a lot of the time considering you don't have to worry about carrying specific modules in this capacity. It's all context.

It's possible to buy a carrier as one player and pay for upkeep in any number of ways. Even pure exploring, out in the black.
