Nice idea! I hadn’t heard this before. Will be working now on feeling gravity…. Update: it’s been a game changer!

Where did you hear this stuff man? Very enlightening. I've played tennis all my life and never heard it explained in terms of gravitational forces, makes sense. Thanks for the content

Hey Hype, thanks for the kind words. These are actually my own insights. I'm working on a more comprehensive course that will summarize these ideas in detail, but in the meantime, more of my ideas are contained in videos on this page, as well as my Instagram. Stay in touch!

really glad I sign up with your channel. I am not sure about the hitting the ball after the ball falls or taking the ball early. In the other video where you show hitting high balls you teach us of hitting before the ball falls. In normal match situation, what do you recommend?

Hey Dan, great question! This video is an introduction to DTM, showing you the simplest way to time a topspin forehand, on the fall. In my follow up video, "3 Shots, 1 Forehand," I show you how you can use the same swing and contact point to time shots that are on the rise or falling out of the air. High topspin is another category of shot I refer to as "above the waist." As you master these timings, your intuition will lead you to choose the best shot. As a general rule, it's better to hit the ball earlier than later.

With a faster paced rally or game, inevitably you would need to rely on more muscle power and not just gravity, right? Meaning, in order to achieve the needed increase in racket head speed you need to augment gravity with well-timed application of muscle power, right? If so, any tips on how to do so without fighting against gravity?

Absolutely! Hip and leg drive, plus a short backswing, are keys to the modern game. That said, allowing for gravity and rhythm will continue to be an important element in achieving efficiency and a unified kinetic chain.

What if a player has a tight wrist, lack of extension (less than normal 70-90degrees). How will this impact the whip action?

    • @gravitytennis

Hi Poida, yes, tightness has a negative impact on the whip. I have a video aimed at reducing tightness here: th-cam.com/video/svKVuDRrmJk/w-d-xo.html
Regarding extension, lack of extension can be a result of a too-extreme grip, or from general tightness. I would try an eastern to semi western grip, and try to allow the pendular acceleration from gravity create the extension during the swing.
Let me know if that helps.

This is a 70$ lesson! How do you hit high balls with the same swing path?

Thanks, Alan! There is an easy way to do this, and I will make a video showing how to do it soon. The secret is an open stance. To get ready for it, I suggest watching this video first - th-cam.com/video/OV6UsifK4GU/w-d-xo.html
