was never a big thing years ago, but it is now, even in Darwin lol , we have santa in a harley trike down the esplanade chucking lollies at kids lol its great lol, but its still hot though 🤣
You’re so creative!! 🥰 their little face paintings ❤ I’m disappointed Uewin didn’t have a Christmas jumper on (my partner would be getting forced to wear one lol) 🤣 x
Well that looked fun! I wonder how many parents feel pressured and end up doing 2 Xmas' That would be very expensive unless you only did like a day celebration thats affordable like your event. What the weather like in late August there?
It's really not as big as you think (thankfully!!!) Maybe they've tried to make it a thing and people just aren't on board.... it's good for the small events, but I really can't get on board with anything else as it's still 20 degrees 😅😅😅😅😅 end of August is nice as Spring is the beginning of September so it's low to mid 20s 😊 xx
My brother face timed me from Perth last week...he was wearing a fleece!!! I said "why the hell are you wearing a coat??" He said "it's cold here it's 20 degrees" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 x
Kimberely as you said xmas in July was started in the Blue Mountains by different hotels etc. as a way of attracting people supposedly to give them a taste of what a cold xmas would be like. It sometimes snows in the Blue Mountains at that time of year so if you are extremely lucky you might even get to see a white xmas. Doing Xmas in July in places other than in cold places like the mountains or maybe ski resorts is a bit pointless to me but whatever turns people on.. It would be like having a BBQ in the UK in July putting up your xmas decorations and dressing up as santa and calling it an Ausssie Xmas. It may attract a few expats but most of the locals would probably just scratch their heads .. I dont know anyone that actually takes it seriously other than buisnesses who are always looking for ways to sell people stuff that they dont need. Like Halloween its a celebration that is more popular with younger generations especially those with small kids smart retailers like Woolies will use their in store displays to make sure that kids are well aware of it. They are not traditional celebrations recognised by older generations, happy for those who want to have a bit of fun on those days its just not my thing - bah humbug to xmas in July.😊
I can see how it could get out of hand. But, it's also not as big as people may think (which I'm glad about) as I'm also not a fan of Christmas in july. My kids were asking when they should write their list to santa 😂😂😂
