Look on market place for cars parting out and get you some cheap metal for skid plates and other accessories. You can also look 4 go cart parts to fix the tow on your front tires . They also have spring loaded spindles where your wheel mount on another excellent idea. Also you could mount rear go kart shocks on your rear axel to frame .. you could replace that belt drive cog for a juggernaut to sprocket set up instead of the current clutch system your using . Just some ideas for ya . And good luck .
I am really impressed. Like really really. Yall did a phenomenal job . Especially with what little tools you have. Man fricken awesome job on the mower and with the video production. That's all the way around, bad ass.
for race mowers, i always use some 10w40 or similar viscosity hydraulic fluid. that grease will slowly expand, then burn with speed and time. one of my old poulan race mowers is still being used almost 14 years now, won a race and had a top speed of 52. good luck and i know yall are having fun!
Looks awesome bud! I'm building a slammed yt ford LM, I made spindles like the ones you made, I'm using the old opposed twin with a 30 VM carb and open header straight pipes, louder then a bitch
Try heavy tractor gear-oil, the stuff that goes into vintage tractors. It's very syrupy, but still has some flow, plus it will stay in the box. You only need enough lube to get at least one of the lowest, smallest gears to touch the surface and drag it into the system. Too much and you're creating drag that turns engine power into heat while losing it for forward motion.
Love it guys!! Got a similar transaxle on a husqvarna mower im building at the moment, just wondering, is it necessary to weld the diff to make it drift? Love the build, keep it up!!
Hey awesome video been looking forward to it, in the process of doing the same to my Murray mower right now. What did you guys use to re-seal that transaxel?
Amazing man, i got the same mower, slightly different but same era, but also did you put your battery under the gas tank? And how big of a battery do you have? Im trying to figure out battery placement and stuff for mine, and also i might use your idea of shifter too because that seems relatively easy to do it that way, love the build.

Great problem solving, engineering and fab work! Most impressive!!
Nice build alredy Igot also some murrays that I want to build into a mud mover.👍

He was talking about it leaking out the shaft, does that happen with yours? If so what do you do about it?
this inspired me to start working on my john Deere 111 build again, always love your vids!
I love it! So when are you gonna go the other direction? you know, lifted, 4wd riding lawn mower!!! lol.
I have an extra 108 for that exact reason
@@mycustomgokart awesome!!!
Oh wow, that’s a sweet lil mower you got there.
Nice job guys becareful using a impact to start a motor like that I snapped off the nut holding the flywheel of a John deer doing the same thing!

@mycustomgokart ik you probably don't care but for body work you use tac welds and spread them out so i doesn't warp as much
Love ur videos. Keep making more ❤
I also have one and also want to customize it you did it. You also gave my some Ideas how to do some of the Things. Thx ❤. Keep making videos ❤
Nice work guys. I would have probably packed those shaft bushings with grease during assembly. Seems like a high wear part.
Nice work gentlemen, From the looks of things you must live in Michigan
12 HP - She's gonna scream when dialed in!
Looks great, you seemed to have got the bolts on the rear axles straight
Can you make a turbo on the lawn mower❤
looks awesome

Good work bro i like it ✌🏻
looking good
you should make a video of you fabricating a 212 onto a dirt bike frame
Can't wait for part 3
looks good
so cool man!
she's a beauty
Love it guys!! Got a similar transaxle on a husqvarna mower im building at the moment, just wondering, is it necessary to weld the diff to make it drift? Love the build, keep it up!!
No, but it will keep it from only spinning 1 wheel
Put a turbo on the jd.
that thing is awesome! have you done any speed testing on it yet?
Not speed tested yet, estimated gearing for around 45ish
Hey awesome video been looking forward to it, in the process of doing the same to my Murray mower right now. What did you guys use to re-seal that transaxel?
Pretty sure I used gasket maker
Sick Tractor!! Where do you buy the pulleys?
Ebay or Ace hardware has a good selection

Battery directly under tank, 300cca I believe
@@mycustomgokart alright thank you for letting me know
23:00 perfect view of their battery setup
So cool
the goat
Nice
Get a vtwin so much power
you should put the murray on a tshirt
Why don't you install a mx bike motor at the carts?
what size pulley you use in front and back?
9 to a 3 in the video. Gearing is too tall for the 12hp though, probably going to a 7 or smaller in the front. Or larger engine
I'm still here waiting for part 3😢
hell yeaaaa
Get pt3 out nowwwww
dont do that to the gearbox. just use 80w90 or 85w140. with that thick red grees axis do not have enouth lube.
Only using half your front tires and you got like 15° of turn ability. Also it's too short, just make it longer.
Where do you guys find the right torque specs
Nothings exact, pretty much just got to know when hand tight is alright vs impact
3 more months till part 3 😅
Jk jk 😂
What model is it ??
It is a Murray 12/36. But I got the Murray 18/46. My Mower have 18hp
Why not use a go-kart steering setup.
The motor is in the way
is that a 7 speed trans??? and dude, use steel pullies, not aluminum! they like to break or shear the keyways. cast iron or steel is best.
yes
@@mycustomgokart those 7 speeds are stupid rare
Yo can I have one
You can put to much in there..
please learn to make good front end those spindle make my eye bleed and get a v-twin
Are you able to shift the gears on a ride on while its moving? I thought that'd f*ck up your trans
Yes you can, and it does not
@@mycustomgokart Ah, didnt know that, the more you know
insane build btw, love your vids
