Pile 2 really resonated with me. With time I've come to the conclusion that I created those "unrequited love" situations myself. Like looking back, things could've worked, I just didn't want them to and told myself nobody was ever going to be interested in me when I kept either going for people who were clearly emotionally unavailable (so, nothing to do with me per se) or just completely rejected people who were clearly interested.
