Fun fact: Dominator actually had tracks/courses that were cut from the game but two of those returned as free DLC for Dominator PSP.

It's actually so weird to see the PS2 graphics on Burnout Dominator. I played the PSP version. Thank you for playing this Kuru. Took me back to hours of playing this. Simpler times
It's not, PSP just doesn't look that good as the PS2 version

That game introduced me to Burnout Chaining. Still stuck on Total Maniac (the final event of The World Tour). Don't give seven f**ks about the absence of Crash Events, what won me over is:
• Burnout Chaining
• Racing around Spiritual City (a fictionalized version of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Perfect to piss off the hardassed Malaysians with some dangerous driving!).
• Japanese version of Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend
• A taste of what would later be known as the Burnout Paradise Theme playing in parts of the game.

after finishing revenge as a child then playing dominator... i didn't even notice it was made by a different studio .
The coolest car in Burnout Dominator is the Super Prototype (basically a Bugatti of some sort, maybe the original Chiron before the Chiron, or Veyron) in my opinion.

I love Burnout Dominator because it has a track that is based on where I live, Malaysia. So also I never had played this game and was hoping to play it after I have the game.
This was the first Pirated game that I played on my PSP,and,the first original game that I bought for my PSP :)
(Also,the easiest game that I have in my PSP collection)

@@soldadoryanbr7776 well I wouldn't say its not just the camera, the games just has really punishing damage and outright broken unfair hitboxes (the plesiloth hip check is legendary and infamous for a reason)
You'll be hit by attacks that visually, you dodge, didnt even get touched by the monsters model. But by the law of game hitboxes, technically their hitboxes despite being invisible without a cheat, still connected.
Monsters are also quite aggressive and you do less damage than the modern entries so combine aggressive monsters, very high damage, and outright invisible hitboxes seperate from the monster itself.
Well you have the most infamously legendary monster hunter game right there. A lot of the challenge would be much easier if it wasn't for those hitboxes.

This was my first Burnout game it was too difficult for me, but I still kept playing it and ended up really liking it
I'm pretty sure it's been fixed in the latest versions, but if you're using an older version of PCSX2, there's an easy fix for the sky:
Load the game, and press F9 on the car selection screen to switch to software rendering, then start the event. As soon as the event starts, press F9 again to switch back to hardware rendering and the sky will be fixed. This only has to be done once per session. Meaning you'll have to do it each time you load the game, but once you do it, it will stay fixed until you quit the game.
This also works to fix the sky in the other Burnout games as well.
I love this game, it's way hard, feels like a hard mode of the past burnout ganes

This is my favorite burnout game, has the smooth gameplay of revenge with the burnout mechanics of the old ones, best of both worlds. And also has the best soundtrack.

My first Burnout and it was an amazing experience during my childhood!
Burnout dominator is one of the first game I ever played. You can go around any track with one supercharge.
This game is definitely the Dark Souls of racing games due to the Maniac event especially in the American Super Maniac event which is incredibly difficult for me when i was a kid and the fact that later maniac events must be completed without a single crash and holding R1 button throughout the entire event which is a extreme risk of crashing. You crashed at least once and you're screwed up!
I love the turbo meccanic of dominator, i hope they keep it in the next burnout
When I got Dominator (I started with 3), I legit thought that this was the sequel. I wasn't too keen on the Crash Mode at that time so I never figured out it was missing until I saw comments and reviews about it years later.
Lol this is actually one of my favorite burnout games. I dont know why people dont talk about this game. I dont like crash mode too much in the first place so this is a great title

i just completed it in under a day or so between today and yesterday and it was fun, however the rubber banding, traffic placements and takedowns are soooo so frustrating lol
Next to Gran Turismo 4 this was the game I played for months on the PS2 and I genuinely liked. Me and my dad played it in splitscreen for ages, and it never got boring. I hate myself for 100%ing it. This is my favourite burnout game ever since. Probably because I don't really care about the crash mode.

6:37 - This scene is a summary of why I stopped playing this game, and it wasn't just once, it was countless times.
What happened was that one of the cars was throwing itself at me in an attempt to make me hit a wall or car, I decided to throw my car against him, but that made me hit the wall, but I thought that with it I had also broken the car, the moment it showed the car sliding on the wall and leaving at high speed I turned off my PS2 and never played that game again.
Burnout Dominator is not a bad game, but it is also not one of the best.
Making it clear that this is my opinion and experience with the game.

When loaded into a race , press F9 to switch to software my mode and F9 again to hardware mode, it'll fix the skybox

Dominator felt like a huge downgrade from Revenge. They got rid of traffic checking and crash mode. Basically Burnout 2.5
Personally I prefer not having either in favor of Burnout chaining.

It can be fixed by launching the game in Software rendering mode and loading up a race then switching to hardware rendering. Sky and reflections will look normal for the rest of the game though you may need to do it again a couple times after several races if the clouds are bugged.
I'm not sure if I can call myself a Burnout fan as I never heard of this Burnout until recently, strangely just never heard anyone talk about this Burnout.

Who honestly thought the video was buffering at the end?
at first lets not forget... the crash game mode was a mini game added in burnout 2 for marketing purpose to try to pull in people to discover the burnout franchise.
Burnout dominator was basicly a love letter from the franchise creators to the hardcore fans of Burnout..
Crash mode has been ditched because...it does quite the opposite of what burnout is all about...
the idea is to risk collision..driving recklessly without fear to get an advantage over other racers and use the environement as a weapon to cause them to crash.
it takes time to let the game sink in... but honestly.. it is the most chalenging burnout Ever!
The maps are extremly well thought out and really nail the spirit of burnout!

I only completed that last maniac event recently. Mostly because my fingers hurt so much after one failed attempt, and sometimes I lost my boost chain simply because my finger is off the x button for a split second :/
