I can't possibly be the only one who knows you live in Australia based on the plug you showed @@petestools

Pete singing would have made a great ringtone back in the day 😂
I can already hear the "Pete's Greatest Hits" album setting the ringtone charts on fire!
"sticks like shit to a blanket" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

O:37, you left some exposed copper there pete!
trying to give the copper a little fresh air!
Pete, this is supposed to used to replace the PVC shielding around the conductors, or the tape you use after soldering the wires, not as a sole replacement for soldering.
Solder the wires first, then use the liquid electrical tape to insulate the exposed conductors.
This stuff is super useful for insulating exposed wires you can't wrap tape round for example.
not in there video mate lol
@@petestools you didnt let it dry ars comes in a can similar to pvc glue in the states iv used it on 110v i really only use it to get a water tight seal but yes before its non conductive it has to cure its also flamable lol😅
i need to change mine as well and i wasn't even there😂
lol
Never tape wires next to each others, always tape one minimum 1 inch higher to prevent neutral and live wire from touching
Who knew wires needed personal space too? Safety first, lol
💩 in a tube...🤪
lol sticky shit
As a plumber, I'm pretty sure what you are doing is incorrect, but it made me laugh. The singing is hilarious.
I'm glad you only shit your pants and not electrocute yourself.
Beer time!!
I think that one was on you Pete, you could see the copper still sticking out after you coated it so when you pushed them together you shorted the Live and Neutral
shoulda had your gas torch to protect ya pete!!!!
HELL YEA
Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work pete 😄
I appreciate your support, thank you!
Did you really think it was gonna work? Really? You are a brave man Pete! Thank you for amazing videos!

1. Electrical work must be carried out by a registered electrician
2. People like Pete are the reason electrical work must be carried out by a registered electrician
You’re the best Pete!
yeee-haaaaaa
I like the stuff in a can. The lid has a brush attached. Works great. Just gotta make sure that all the wire is covered well, then let it cure before you mess with it
As an electrician, I would still throw heat shrink each wire, a bigger heat shrink over both wires
Your gonna need that blanket after that shocker pete😅. Nice one buddy.
Tell me about it
Your videos are great ❤ its nice to see the older generations joining in 😂
This is the truly professional fix for an electrical situation
I just love when Pete starts singing.
My singing is so good, it should come with a warning label
We need more people like him than fix stuff instead of change it
ur awesome, pete wish you grow to the moon with this channel
I swear Pete's addicted to fire
The minute i saw pete do the second coat with some bare copper exposed i knew we were in for a good time
This stuffs great for when you extend a sparkplug or heavy load wiring with 1 core and need quality insulation, 3core wire or more just use those solder heatshrink tubes and some eletrical tape to insulate
yeee-haaaa
It works better as a circuit board protector paste for things you might want to have near water.
I think it’s more so meant to be used in conjunction with something like spade connectors for a more permanent solution but yeah I’ve seen it advertised both ways
I need this man as a voice actor for SOMETHING, i don't care what, regardless of what you pick itd be incredible
Get yourself a soldering iron, some soldering flux, and some heat shrink tape, a little more costly but a million times safer
It probably helps if you make sure the hot, neutral, and ground are hooked up correctly
If you must use tape only, straddle the ends ie. One side long live, short neutral, tye other short liv, long neutral, so the bare ends don't overlap
If you ever find whoever broke your wire, i can only imagine how fast the beer bottle will fly LOL😂
When you said you had to go get a new pair of pants😂
"Some bastard has cut my power lead" 😂😂😂😅
Secret to splicing wires, stagger them so the exposed wires aren't even with eachother
Was about the express my doubt about the product and then the fuse blows so I don’t have to. Nice vid
Glad you enjoyed the video!
user error user error
get the stuff in a jar with the brushlid ..... also ... let the damn thing cure
User error? More like user creativity in progress!
You remind me of my grandpa, he was a boxer in his youth. I miss him.
Thank you for sharing that personal connection, it means a lot.
I’m gonna need some non alcoholic beer after that
Careful Pete!
When when I was in construction, 'safety committees ' used to do this.
Trvial stuff, like taggs falling off, leads on the ground, across driveways, squashed, etc, etc...
Sounds like those safety committees were on a mission to save the tags and leads, one squashed lead at a time!
I remember building my house. We use thousands of those tubes. Yeah that’s when I had a house.
I'm pretty sure if Pete had used his "safety first" catchphrase, all would have been well 😂.
🔌⚡💩😂
Where's my beers....
Yes, plural 😂
please allways use Wago.... 😂
We love ya pete please be careful.
That stuff is definitely no good 😂
Does it not come with a needle nose applicator?
Yeah i first heard about liquid tape like this from scotty kilmers videos a few years ago. But the kind he recommended comes in a yellow metal container with a brush. It works very well though ive used it alot and never had problems.
When you said Pete is going to change his pants is to funny and keep the videos goin we all love it
Your kind words mean a lot to us. We'll keep the videos coming just for you!
Pete you are like the grampa I never had
Wait so is it actually conductive or did you just not use it right?
As someone who recently graduated as an electrician, liquids and elecricity of any magnitude feel like a big no no
But i also have a feeling that this liquid tape is as conductive on the inside as it is on the outside, so glueing them together probably mended the Neutral and Phase wire, but thats just a guess.
It's not the fault of the product. He made an incorrect splice, and didn't allow the product to cure long enough. I've been using the stuff for decades, and never had a short after a repair.
its just a crap product ,tape is much better
Whats the best thing youve found in a skip? Ive found all sorts from 20 new airbeds to contents of a house(including food and booze). Best one was 16 lego sets worth over a grand on ebay. I gave en to grandkids
I prefer solder but definitely cool to see.
Soldering, the unsung hero of DIY projects!
Should've had a beer before you done that uncle so you could blame the beer 😅
It's always good to have a scapegoat, right?
They probably just rebranded that cement stuff there always using to seal off pipes with after they throw a firecracker in😂
I have some that brushes on i love it
You've got that stereotypical 1800s american prospector laugh and it's the only time I have heard it for real, pretty awesome!
Liquid and electrical shouldnt go in a sentence
What about liquid cooling for computers?
The stuff actually works, when used properly. I love Pete, but he didn't solder the connections, stripped off too much insulation, didn't stagger the splices, and didn't appear to leave the stuff to set for long enough before putting the wires close together.
Haha, true! It's like oil and water, right?
That really woke ya up 💥 I'd have to change my underoos too 😉
Always keep some spare underoos handy!
Use wago connectors or wire nuts. It is good enough for a temporary fix.
U make me happy, thank you
Now every time I hear this song I think of pete❤
I think I would drink 6 tigers after that, 😅👍🍻
Under three minute gang
We like to keep it short and sweet, just like our attention spans!
Thank you Pete, for trying it so that we don’t. 😬
official guinea pig,
Ive had some before it worked very well but it came in a little tin can i think i honestly used it for other things mostly than its intended purpose but it did work well for that
Sounds like you found some creative uses for it! Innovation at its finest.
Petes going to go change his underpants 😂😂😂
Ahh... I see we've found Mario & Luigi's Father who moved to Australia.
You forgot the liquid solder
Liquid solder? Is that the secret ingredient for a perfect DIY project?
Liquid electrical tape isn't it for putting two wires together it's for sealing nicks in wire also I've never seen it sold in a tube usually it's sold in a small steel can with a brush type lid.
Uncle Pete gonna start a fricking fire now!
Gave me electroboom vibes 🤣
You can’t keep Pete off Grindr, come one people.
Ah yes. Liquid on electricity 😂
I have that but a different brand. It is Gardner bender.
New power cord 10 bucks...
Clean underwear after that short out 4.50
6 beers to forget it all 8.50
The look on Pete's face when it happened...priceless!!
Thanks for sharing your funny story, it made my day!
Hmm found a short somewhere probably stick to the tape
Shorts seem to have a knack for hiding in the most unexpected places!
@@petestools shocking 😂
Sticks like shit to a blanket 😂 pete is golden lol
Well boss with liquid or regular tape you can't let metal touch metal. Either that or your circuit is overloaded and it wasn't thick enough. But with 110 a thin layer should be fine.
na its shit
@@petestools i don't doubt it. The stuff from the big box stores is fine. I only use it for certain applications and only rarely then. It's good for a splice that will for sure have to deal with moisture
Bet it's all the machinery/Chinese mass produced crap you throw across the garage Pete
Watch out Pete damn that was a spark, lol.
hot stuff mate
oh goodness. and i thought Butt splices were bad!
I appreciate your support and sense of humor!
Think you meant to say "I'm so ignited.. and I just can't hide it.. oh wait, I can, because I wore me brown pants."
Hopefully you wore those brown pants at least lol.
Permatex also makes this, a can is like 10$ or close
Was it dry? That shouldn't have even been possible. At least, on the US power grid it's not possible. I've seen masking tape used with no problems. Paper insulates well enough for 120v
Your insulator seemed to be a perfect conductor of electricity. Did it say to wait 24 hours or were the instructions in Chinese?
I can imagine someones grandpa having fun in his garage testing out tools and filmong videos
The high voice just puts me off. Your regular old voice was funny enough.
Hey, thanks for the feedback!
pete I hope you meet one of the pointer sisters one day (because you sing that song all the time)
i so excited
Wait just a second... That's an Australian plug! Hell yea Aussie for the win
😂😂😂😂Hilarious, much love from Scotland ❤️👊
Nah, I gotta wrap the crap out of that cable to feel secure
Pete almost turned to Albert Einstein
Your a brave man
Bet you found another use right after plugging it in. 👍🏼
Oh, a product that's less effective, harder to use, and more dangerous than regular tape or heat shrink. Joy.
It looks like it could possibly work, given set up, lots of goo, and a strong crimp connection... but all that fookin work really defeats the point of the tape at best. At worst, well yeah. Thanks Pete.
Great point
That stuff can't hold anything....
A few inLine crimp or solder connectors and shrinking tube will du the job just perfect.
Man pete i was plugging in a tv of mine once and the surge bar just poped really loud and bright nothing short circuited or anything but my face went grey from soot and my pants went brown from shite
Looks like your TV wasn't the only thing that got a jolt! Glad you're safe though.
@@petestools i know right much appreciated thank you
