NORTH AMERICAN WOOD TURTLE

The North American Wood Turtle is an increasingly rare turtle to come across in the wild. Due to the time it takes to reach physical maturity, combined with habitat loss and the effects of illegal colection as pets, this turtle is under threat of extinction. Get to know your outdoors and the wildlife around you by taking a picture and leave it as you found it. I am very happy to share with you a glimpse at one of the beautiful turtles of Eastern North America.

I've found these quite a few times on hikes near where I live. I'm glad you emphasized the need to leave them where they are. Same goes for all wildlife.
