  • For this three flip cup pour, I used 70% glue and 30% water as my pouring medium. I then used 50% of this pouring medium to 50% of my Global impasto paint. If you are using thicker paints like Liquitex Basics, you will need to add more water and if you are using thinner paints, you will need to add more paint to get your mix to the correct consistency.

    My favorite thing is to watch your videos and relax and unwind. You make me feel as if I am right there with you as you pour. I am dying to try a pour but I am on a fixed income and I need to work it into my budget. lol You are cheaper than therapy and much more creative!

    I think that tape idea sounds like it could work. After all the corner catchers work quite well and leave a desireable effect on the sides of the corners....will look forward to that!!

    • @mimarimani
      @mimarimani 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm wondering if it won't give the same issues as the corner catchers, where you get the backlash lines around the edges...

    These colors are fabulous! Just FYI, I have tried taping my edges to keep the paint in and it does work but you have to use wide painters tape not the narrow one. I've also used cardboard strips on corners and sides, similar to what you do - I think these are much easier than the tape. Thanks for making your videos - I love them! (p.s. I love how you talk to your paint "come on, now go on over there...") :)

    Julie, to avoid the wobbly lines and the squished center cup, have you ever considered layering your paints into one really big cup to flip, then dragging it long ways (the same direction as your waterfall pours)?

  • @ironwmnmk
    @ironwmnmk 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Beautiful pour Julie those colors are stunning. I watched and rewatched your flip a few times after you mentioned how you didn’t like the curve on the middle cup. Judge for yourself but you maybe standing in front of the cup a bit more centered on the middle cup. I was trying to pay attention to the positioning of your hips. Another question I have is have you ever flipped the middle cup first and waited a bit to let it spread before flipping the end cups to try and keep it from being squashed?

  • @katherinefrederick3164

    Beautiful as always ❤️ I see that you only used water and glue . Now what is the consistency of that usually ? I feel like it would be really watery . I usually use Liquitex basics or artist loft tube paints so would that be okay with those ?
