@bloomblammy the freeride 41 with rocker concave would be a great board for the type of riding you are looking to do. It's meant for higher speeds and slides!

Although the Apex 40 is strong and has carbon reinforcement bars.. it's still made with wood, and dropping it off a cliff sounds like there's a good change it might not survive depending on how bit this cliff is that you're talking about. I suggest staying away from the cliff in general.

That will depend on who you ask haha When we started Original there was no such thing as a "longboard", there was only a longboard skateboard. That maybe describes things better since really, 4 wheels make a skateboard. That said longboarding has developed into its own thing. Search "Skateboarding" and you get a different thing than searching "longboarding". I think has less to do with any differences and more to do with what people expect to find when they use the search term.

Hey, It could be your wheels or set-up in general. If your wheels have a sharp/hard edge, they are made more for grip. If you change out your wheels to something round lipped and pre-broken in, then it will be easier to kick them out. With that said, our Freerides are specifically made for slides, you should check the out. _Davey

Sounds like the Apex is going to be pretty high on your list. Anytime you start talking freestyle or street, the Apex should be top of the discussion. You do have some options though. How tall and how heavy are you? Depending on your height and weight you may want to slant toward a shorter or longer Apex though my personal favorite is the Apex 40.

Same concave as the 2011 Apex 37 though we have now updated that line and branched it off into the Apex 37 and Apex 40 DoubleConcave. I would take a look at the DoubleConcave version as a killer carver / cruiser with an awesome focus on freestyle / freeride. How tall and how heavy are you?

We appreciate the support but make sure you take a look at some of the other Brands out there, good stuff coming out of Nelson and Incline lately. So if you ever feel like you want a change, we fully back those guys as well.

probably a pintail 37, obviously good for cruising. But you could do some tricks on it e.g. shuvits, ghost ride kickflips/old school kickflips and even slides. Hope this helps :)

Hey Original! I was just wondering what kind of wrist guards would work best for me. Or if it really even matters :P I just recently broke my wrist longboarding down my neighborhood hill... I was just trying to decide if i should get something like the wrist and slide gloves combined or just normal wrist guards and wear my homemade ones over it. Btdubs I am currently riding a pintail 40, if that makes a difference.
