the scene with robert and cercei talking about their marriage is one of my favorites of the entire series
Same here and it's not even in the book. Great addition.
I caught that Homelander comment, I thought exactly the same! 😅 another great reaction lads.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I always forget that Mark Addy (King Robert) played Fred Flintstone in Viva Rock Vegas.
I'm rewatching because of you guys to kinda watch it along you guys... and i already almost finished season 2 lol forgot how addictive it is
😊
Pretty good duel between Ned and Jaime. Jaime is suppose to be much better fighter (he wasn't at the Trident), in the books they don't fight one on one, by the way. For me Ned has to be good fighter since he survived two wars.
Then how does ned get injured in the book?
Jaime is better than Ned.
Jaime is a top 5 swordsman in Westeros and Esos in terms of talent and ability, but immature fighting and showboating brings down his rank. He surely outclasses Ned in swordsmanship, but theres more to a fight than skill with the sword.
Ned is a great fighter but more of a leader/commander, especially at his age.
Money's on Jaime
George RR Martin when asked who would he choose to be his Champion for a trial by combat he answered "ser Arthur Dayne or Jaime Lannister".
😂 Looking forward to this 🔥🐲
wow.....Malachi has so many hickeys. He's been having fun.
What happened to malachis neck and face?
Fun reaction to another great episode! This first season is DENSE with background...a lot of stuff is being 'set up' or 'introduced' so its literally a job to pay attention to every new scene and character...that makes it a challenging show to watch, but people did love it anyway...even loved it BECAUSE it was so challenging. Gotta say I'm with Shane on King Roberts interaction with his Queen. They go from showing this over the top, loud brash king...to an old man in a marriage of political convenience who is still haunted by the loss of someone he loved a lifetime ago. It humanized him and made him look less like a mean drunk. Its a brilliant moment. The fight between Ned and Jamie...y'all caught on quick that Jamie wanted it fair and square...like a personal showdown...and I'll say this for Jamie...for all that he has a privileged position...he has trained more extensively than the show can easily display in a few episodes. His reputation is that of one of the best swordsmen alive...and odds were he'd have beaten Ned before long. Ned was a battlefield warrior...not a duelist trained to fight one person with precision, slightly different skill sets. Interesting that the show makes a point of showing the split between Jamie's behavior...willing to maim/kill a child to protect his sister's reputation...but also furious that a guard interrupted a duel by stabbing his opponent in the leg. One point the show hammers home repeatedly...royalty are weird. A few people handle power well...but most people slowly get twisted by a life of answering to no one. The Starks are the 'control sample' of a noble house that still has a sense of responsibility and 'honor', placing doing what's right ahead of what's convenient or advantageous. They provide a contrast to the ocean of political snakes, nutcases, perverts, thieves and murderers that surround them. This isn't to say that EVERYONE else in a noble house is all bad...some are decent complex characters with their own issues...but the trend isn't good, while the Starks are literally disadvantaged by being basically too honest to operate in a complex political atmosphere. (Which is why we love them!)
❤️
Jaime is considered the best since Arthur Dayne.
