This is a tutorial on how to play the Organ Solo in the song Highway Star by Deep Purple, as performed in another video.
Apologies for the crappy run-through at the end xD
Filmed on my phone so no watermark :)
Hope this helps with learning this (really great) solo.

I am a guitarist and I am working this out for my 3 piece band. A lot of guitarists have covered this keyboard solo but most seem to use right hand tapping to get the high speed arpeggios - this looks cool but they all play A, C, tap the E - which to my ears is wrong. You are following the original John Lord album solo which is E, A, C. Thanks for confirming my ears are right.

Awesome... I tried teaching myself and this helped me fix my errors and fill in the blanks that I was stuck on (such as that part that you called the hardest, which I couldn't agree with you more on) Right now I'm doing part near the beginning with two hands lol. I use my left index to just tap the first note of each sequence and rotate between the other 2 with my right index and ring fingers lol :) Nice Job!

@PoffyTheCucumber - CONT'D: Also note that the big "swishing" sound after the last chord bang is created by BANGING THE HAMMOND WITH YOUR THIGH. That sound cannot be created any other way, except by the reverb springs inside the monolithical Hammond B3.

thanks for the video. I notice on the F major run down your ( and mine ) fingers get tangled up with that B flat. I found that if I use 4321 fingers on the way down til you get to the E then use 5432 from that E and after continue with the 4321 pattern. It works pretty good for me. Cheers.
I found this too. Just need to get head around the change of fingering but hand moves more naturally with 2nd finger on Bb.

Why this guy's playing fast on the most important trickiest of ascending scales that I long for! Man, plz, the other parts I can copy it by just listening, now you should slow it down on that part.

@PoffyTheCucumber -CONT'D: The LOWER harmony arpegs that you play here should be played with the LEFT HAND while the right hand plays the upper inversions I stated above. (That's what creates that "flutish, flapping" sound in the recording.) Also, your very first rundown (D-Db-Bb-A) has a quintuplet figure thrown in. Thanks for the effort tho - it might encourage more keyboardists to ROCK. (But first, with all respect, please find a better HARD ROCK ORGAN sound... :)

I do not need any music sheets. I have perfect pitch. I just need to listen to it slowly to listen to notes and speed it up. Maybe its cause in left handed
