      Very true, this was the second referendum and still it is clear that the public wanted brexit. The fact is if the Tories balls up this chance of trust the public will hopefully linch them proper and they will have to face the witch dunking chair. Drowned or burnt at the stake. The trouble is there’s a brexit deal where basically were half in the EU’s pockets so this is a 50/50 leave / stay scenario . Why are the anti brexiteers moaning ? They have got it half their way also.
      Let’s face facts here , who really wants any of them in No 10 . They all seem a bit shifty to me .

    • @Pining_for_the_fjords

      Fun fact: More people voted for pro-remain parties in this election than for pro-leave. If we assume that most of the voters voted only on the party's brexit stance, then the majority of voters support remain or a second referendum.
      The fact that we can't know how many people voted based only on brexit means that the majority simply don't mind remain or a second referendum. But either way, the Tory win is far from the mass support of brexit that brexiteers are pretending it is.

    • @TheAli985
      @TheAli985 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Amd Bom Hardly changes the fact that all the other comments are wrong that Boris won the 2nd Brexit referendum. If this has been a referendum, he would have lost because then number of votes is what matters.
      He won the election and now can do what we wants, however, based on the votes he does not have a mandate for his Brexit deal.

    • @TheAli985
      @TheAli985 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Amd Bom Except for the simple fact that it was not a referendum. It was a General Election with Brexit being a key issue, nothing else. You said it yourself, the popular vote is not what matters in an election. In a referendum however, it is what matters.

    • @TheAli985
      @TheAli985 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Amd Bom You have no idea of my views or what I have done or not done. All you know is that I don't agree that this was a referendum (because it wasn't).
      Again, this wasn't a referendum so the people wanting a second one did not get that. They got a GE same as the one in 2017.
      What strategy was that, lie continuously and hope people believe them, same as he did in 2016? Farage did the only strategic thing for the leavers and that was because standing against the Conservatives was obvious to hurt his only policy. The remain side had different parties which all had different policies about more than just Brexit.

It's the people that aren't so fortunate that will suffer over the next few years. The MP for my constituency is Kevin Foster. A man who has voted against equal rights for gay people, voted against higher benefits for the disabled, has voted for a reduction on corporation tax, has voted against allowing terminally ill people to end their lives, has voted for mass surveillance on peoples communications and the list goes on. We have more food banks than ever before, more homeless than ever before, fewer police than ever before and an ageing population relying on an underfunded NHS to care for them and a derelict high street. NHS is already on it's way to being fully privatized, but that will still take time to achieve. I say, 3 to 4 years. The problem we really face is the privatization becoming so dominant within the NHS that the quality of healthcare that the patients will receive will fall drastically as a result. For example! Very soon the NHS will be ran more like a business under privatization. Which will then make the rich companies running NHS prioritize profit over the patients quality of care. The NHS is in catastrophic trouble now. So are the i'll, disabled and vulnerable from having their benefits taken away under a Conservative government too.
