Still trying to decide as I'm still processing it mentally. Haven't had that AHA moment on which of the two. The 5 Pro has taken it a few notches up but in some aspects it's a downgrade from the 4.
@@zusplacestudio I ended up with the 5. Appart from the charger everything else is definitely a nodge up from the 4. It also comes with esim. Magic OS is ok, but coming from MIUI which hadn't had a software update for 3 years, Magic OS feels like it's years behind even from that. I'm still getting used to it but at the same time I've put it up for sale. Coming from a 6.91 inches screen, I'd rather go for the Magic V2
Its seems a heavy phone and wonder how comfortable it is ? Is that camera top heavy? Its definitely on my radar to buy especially as now 800 pounds with 12 months interest free payments via very .. plus awaiting the 15 percent off code very drop around 3 times a year.
I have a question that's troubling me, the glass protection, it's not specified anywhere. I know that the Magic4Pro has the aluminosilicate display, but in final results how is the durability of these two devices in everyday use, and scratches, its ok to use it without a screen protection ? The Magic4 Pro i have has a screen protection out-of-the box but it kinda separates, and i want to use it without a screen protection due to the margins, its ok ?
At this point i would not buy a phone with 8 Gen 1, since gen 2 is much more efficient. Also the main cam is much bigger on the Magic 5 Pro. It's a bit unfortunate that they've used a worse sensor for 3,5x zoom on 5 Pro, but the macro capability of the new tele lens is pretty cool.
Can I ask you to do me a favour please? I tried testing the RAW format in Pro mode on this phone and the photos are useless. I think this feature doesn't work at all. The photos have the incorrect resolution and size. I think it's a software issue. Could you please check on your Magic 5 Pro?
So, I've just had a look on the Magic4 Pro, and it definitely thinks it's showing the RAW (shown in the camera app), but the output result is JPG?! The size and resolution match, however. This is very odd, and I agree with you looks like Honor has some more fixing to do; will report this to them now, thank you!
@@TotallydubbedHD the RAW photos are in a different folder. Can you double check? Is it in the dng format with the max resolution? And the size should be way above 50 mb
@@mariola6182 brain isn't working today, you're right and I knew that haha! So the files are DNG format and 24-25MB in size, resolution seems a little lower than the regular photos taken, but not drastically. What are you getting?
Almost got this phone but the lack of cases and especially screen protectors (in de Netherlands at least), kept me from getting this phone. For the rest, a beautiful phone :)
@@TotallydubbedHD yeah that's true, but I don't like those cases. Get dirty fast. And if there is no option for a good screen protector, I am not interested :p Could only find those cheap and flimsy 5 to 10 euro screen protectors.
The TH-cam app stuttering has absolutely nothing to do with the software it's the dynamic refresh rate. My pixel 7 pro does exactly the same and that's stock android. So does the s23 ultra. Funny enough the OnePlus 11 doesn't.
Best phone for £849 Best display for eyes, charger in the box, free premium case, free ear buds, 1 time free accident screen protection and free wireless charging stand. Greedy ass Apple and Samsung should learn from Honor.
@@TotallydubbedHD Yes, instagram on Honor magic 5 pro was laggy for 2 days but after April update no issue. It feels way smooth compared to my S22+ exynos. No shutter lag,no eye strain and better battery life also charger in the box.
I would skip the Magic5 Pro with all the sadness. It has too many important compromises to be a truly high-end flagship model, like an awful throttling that occurs way too fast, 4K videos limited to 15 minutes due to heat. Battery life isn't great at all, zoom is so so. Hopefully, they'll be able to remedy it with midcycle refresh or the Huawei Magic Pro 7 :)
🤡 Battery is better than S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Main camera is the best. Selfie camera is superior. Magic OS desktop experience is amazing. 2160Hz PWM technology is fantastic. I can get this phone for 800 euros with extending my subscription knowing that it has 12 GB RAM and 512GB Storage. It's just the best phone in the marker currently. Samsung fanboys and other fanboys are crying.
@@wuforever No need for any fanboy callout. I'm actually a honor and Huawei supporter, my best device was the Mate 20 X 4G, still nothing in this era can replicate it with newer hardware. I hope we'll get those issues fixed with new gen or mid cycle refresh.
@@TotallydubbedHD Yeah it's not technically a bad phone and most people won't notice that but the throttling gsmarena got was insane, down to like 50-60% performance, which is crazy considering something like the Xiaomi 13 Pro throttles very slightly if at all. Seems like the build is just terribly flawed. My tiny Zenfone 8 throttled less, while using the awful Snapdragon 888
@@xPandamon Yes, maybe not for "gamers", if such a demographic exists in smartphones. But most games handle very well and tweaking the settings or performance mode can stabilize that easily; you do not always have to max out the game settings on the heavy-intensive games. As a non-gamer, sustained performance is moot as I do not need that.

Are you sure that the fingerprint sensor of Magic 5 pro is optical. From another review they claimed it's ultrasonic
Can't comment about others, but my specs were taken from the manufacturer.
If you look up the specs on GSMarena it's clear that the ultrasonic sensor on the 5 Pro is gone.
