1974 and I met Phoebe Snow through her music and she has been my friend and companion all these years. Her music will live forever!

What's great about Phoebe's singing is she has such good intonation she can play with those soft 7ths and and 3rds bringing creative swing into the melody.

I wore this vinyl album out and bought it again on cassette. Still love it, and this song, all these years later.

Thanks making this available without advertisements! It takes me back and yet seems so fresh; remarkable for a recording made over 40 years ago.

As a copy boy in Los Angeles, she and her husband wanted a tour of the 11 p.m. "Big News". She as casually dressed and so charming. My contact at Columbia Records called one evening...

Was für eine bezaubernde Stimme! Es tut mir Leid, dass sie nicht mehr am Leben ist.

This got considerable airplay, you really only need to hear it once to be hooked on it though.

@ CC Davis - No cowbell, but rather, wood block percussion which enlarges the arrangement from standard rock instruments with other acoustic elements in a wider spectrum to go along with the world embracing lyrics.

I don't remember all the constant cowbell in this song. I sounds like Chris Walken got a hold of it. What's the story?

A precursor of things to come in the entire musical world. I can assure you it's real people playing real instruments. The grandma of Reggae? I don't know but close.
