    Hello, I have a few questions:
    1) Regarding virtual images in a convex lens: what will you, an observer, see if you were standing or looking at the object through the lens but from the concave side? Ie if you were standing on the side of the screen, and looking through the lens at the candle, what would you see? Surely you would be able to see something, since the lens is transparent. Since you can see things because light bounces off it,then surely you can also project whatever it is you see, on to a screen.
    2) I have seen ray diagrams that show parallel lines enter concave-convex lens (also called meniscus lens). Some of them show that parallel lines entering from concave part end up diverging when leaving, others show the exit light rays converge. Which is it and how do you know?

    It was a very helpful video for me sir. Sir , could you please answer me a question ? Like the lenses we use for goggles , for example, the power of my the lenses of my goggle is -3.50 (for the left eye) and -3.25 for the right eye. Now what type of image is formed by these lenses??

    • @manojtrips
      @manojtrips  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      asif alam joy
      Since power is negative you are using convave lens....And in concave lens image formed is virtual and erect .

    • @asifalamjoy9530
      @asifalamjoy9530 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Manoj Tripathi sir, what about positive power then ? Like, my father uses a spectacle while reading newspaper and the power is +2.50 for each glasses.

    • @manojtrips
      @manojtrips  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      asif alam joy Ur father is using convex lens... To correct his defect......As focal length is positive ....hence power of lens is also positive.......

    • @manojtrips
      @manojtrips  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      when you keep object between pole and focus i.e. within the focal lenth image is virtual erect and magnified and you can see image inside the mirror but it wont come on screen.

    I suspect this is not the virtual image, it is just a reflection from the glass the lens is made of. Such reflection was also visible in case of convex lens at 4:36
    Are you fooling the students?
