The odds of any random person being a match with any other random person is like one in a million so the odds of the two people in that match also being step siblings… well sufficed to say “low” doesn’t really do it justice. I was about to comment on that too!
@@matt3248Bingo! Exactly what came to my mind too! Ava has to be his half sister. Wonder who is older, him or her because if he is, how did he not know mom had been pregnant with her. Oops, I’m a little slow today. Somebody else mentioned Ava’s dad is probably his dad too.
@@christianmarshal6117 Years ago, when I registered for the bone marrow donor list, I was told the odds were abour 300,000 to 1 I would match with someone. I was never called.
how did they know he was a bone marrow match? they aren't even related? she didn't know he existed but they told her he just left every time she asked? op explained things to ava twice
Yea, he has an empathetic heart because he feels guilty about not wanting to donate, but parents didn’t even mention him or check on him in 10 years. Geez, this poor guy is going to need lots of therapy after this hell!
This is ridiculous! How could they have known he was a match? And are we supposed to think he's a good person for letting his sister die to spite his shitty mom?!
I can't imagine dumping my only child off with family to deal with a step daughter,im sorry but this is your child you gave birth to Amazing, i couldn't do this
I think both kids belong to them. Mom probably cheated and got pregnant with both kids. How else would they automatically know he would be a match for her?
it would have to be half sibs, but the beginning of the story makes it clear that they are step sibs. she is from daddy's previous relationship, and he is from momma's previous relationship. he even spent those ten years with his bio father.
@@karinefonte516 Can't be. The sister came from another marriage of the stepfather and the got dumped at his bio dad. There should be nothing connecting the two biological that would make a bone marrow 100% certain
A better story would be h8m giving Ava the bone marrow though how they thought he was a suitable donor is far feched. The only way to know is if he had already been tested and placed on the bone marrow register (the UK has at least one, the NHS stem cell donor registry. One big reason for approval of a nationalised health service, the people who get tested, don't need to worry about paying for the test, and people who do donate, don't have to worry about the subsequent surgical costs of donating). Anyway, back to the story. He wouldn't know, the parents wouldn't know he was a suitable donor without major testing. He wasn't a blood relative, so they couldn't even make a guess about it. Secondly, if strangers across the world are willing to give bone marrow, then I don't see why he couldn't. His relationship with Ava could have grown outside of his relationship with his Mom and step-dad. A twist to the tale could be him being a suitable donor, the parents going into debt to pay for the double operation, then he hits them with a claim for his missing inheritance.
Very unlikely he would be a match given they aren't biologically related, and there's no way the parents could be sure anyway. That said, another option is he could have donated bone marrow for Ava and sued the parents.
My dog would probably been a better match. Also, he could of got a lawyer and gone after his mum and sued for the inheritance back, she used it for herself and Ava definitely not allowed.
Grandchildren only inherit something if the will expicitely says so, else everything goes to spouse and children. So mom was not oblieged to give anything to her son - except abandoning him was some criminal act of child abandoning. So someone is needed to sort all the lies the "parents" told the family. Never told the audience how big the the agegap between the stepsiblings was, if Ava/Eva can't remeber the boy who got chucked out of the family. A bone-transplant is no guarantee that the patient will get well, if it even would have matched in this case...
Grace, the family friend, said grandpa left him a good amount of money and parents used it for themselves and Ava. That’s why they sent him away because they didn’t want him to know about it.
While this story comes across a fake, there's some truth in it. I've seen relatives do this to their children, and itvwas usually the oldest child that received abandonment.
What a shit story. Why badger ava if you are not going to save her life. Only to introduce yourself as her potential Savior and not follow through. And then to shatter her perception of her parents before she dies.
Even if the story makes 0 sense i still think he should save her. I would since it wasnt her fault and she deserves to live. If i didnt try to save her i would look at that like i killed her. Would never forgive my self.
I don’t know how bone marrow transplants work, but would one transplant do the trick to make her magically cured? Or would this be a recurring request? I have bone marrow extraction is very painful and parents ask one child to go through extreme pain to save their favorite. They abandoned him so they wouldn’t get caught stealing his inheritance…so they could use some of it to save their “precious” and instead of saving the rest, they spent on themselves.
@stirrednotshaken4823 dont know if it is 100% effective but i would definitely try. One day of pain to save someone's life i would take it. I survived 86 needles last year while fighting cancer, would survive that pain too.

How would stepsiblings be donor matches for bone marrow or anything else….unless it’s meant be half siblings
In some of the reddit stories they get step siblings mixed up with half siblings . So they could be half siblings.
