This song. Dan's version of this song. It saved me in March 2024. My son died by suicide on March 8th, I was totally beside myself with grief obviously. One night while I couldn't sleep, something drew me to You Tube. I was in search of SOMETHING, ANYTHING to help me keep from losing my mind. I'd never heard of him, had no clue what reactions were, but somehow I clicked on to a reaction of this song. There began my journey down the rabbit hole. And here I am, still trying to hold it together with the help of many tearful prayers, and lots of music. Thank you for your reaction.
Loved your very thoughtful reaction. Best version of this wonderful song ever. You really feel the depth of the meaning when sung the way he does. Some of my favorites by Dan are: I'll Make a Man Out of You, Never Enough, The Song of the White Wolf, Bring Me to Life, and Angels We Have Heard on High. There are so many more great ones. Looking forward to hearing more. Thanks.
Elaine 😊 thank you , and I think you can guess by now 😊 thier will be more of DV to come including with fearless and other collaborators I’ve been given so much by everyone that I’m humbled 😊🙏🏻
Dan Vasc is a rock metal genius. He's not only a great musician but also a great, down-to-earth guy. Dan Vasc has such a beautiful powerful voice and a beautiful vocal color. Wonderful. Great song... Like all of his cover songs. The whole witcher cover series is great. Burn Butcher Burn is awesome and the song “The Music of the Night” from the Phantom of the Opera is beautiful 🤘♥️
"He's in prayer at the moment" is my reaction too. He doesn't look at the camera throughout this song and as he gets deeper into it he closes his eyes. He is not singing to the audience. And he definitely knows how to interact with the camera. Everything he does, wears, camera and lighting, and especially every sound he makes, softer, louder, grit, clean it's all very deliberate. He has stated he is a Christian and he put this out for Easter. You have a long list of his work to react to so I won't belabor that point. But this is the best version I will ever hear. It's wonderful to hear you appreciate how much of his heart he put into this.
As you so incite-fully point out and not to labour my points , I say what I see feel and hear , and I think that is the best way to show appreciation😊 thank you teresa I really enjoyed reading your thoughts and learning 😊
Wow, thank you for an greatly enlarged video of Dan, that is hardly seen but very much appreciated. I try to catch first reactions to Dan’s Amazing Grace whenever possible to recapture what I first felt. Previous comments pretty much mention my same suggestions on what Dan songs to check out. All fantastic suggestions. This was a very lovely and informative reaction, thank you! ❤
Thank you, Alan, for adding the background info, always appreciated. Amazing Grace was the very first song I heard and it got me immediately hooked to Dan's voice. Then I saw his "Sound Of Silence" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" and what can I say, never stopped listening to his music since then. So I strongly recommend those to as well 😉 If you want to hear metalized Christmas songs, then "Angels We Have Heard On High" (in 4 languages) and "Adeste Fideles" are great choices. Also, this year's christmas song will come soon. What else can be said - Dan Vasc has the great ability to take something and make it his own without taking away what it was. He embodies every song he performs, making it very captivating to watch.
Hearing Amazing Grace piped leaves me a blubbering mess - the pipes open my emotional flood gates! The first time I heard of Dan Vasc was last Easter when this video was dropped and I could not stop listening to it. Yes, the harmonica takes you to the pipes and the wail of the words in this beloved song. Thank you for sharing your personal memories and the background of the poem. Dan is "all in" when he sings/lives in the moment of any song and pulls us into it as well. Another video on my playlist is "For All". His dialog afterwards is open and encouraging. Thanks!
This is by far the best version of this song, ever. Dan did a phenomenal job on it. He signs it so emotionally and beautifuly It just left me speechless. Thank you for your lovely reaction to this masterpiece.
I discovered you when you reacted to his cover of Gethsemane, subscribed after that reaction, and was so thrilled to discover this reaction this morning. I honestly don't think it matters which of his songs you pick next, because I think you "get" music in general and you "get" Dan and whatever you pick, you'll bring insights that will make a difference to us. And now I'm off to find that military band version of "Amazing Grace"... Thank you for another great reaction!
I’m a little humbled , and I tend to just go with my instinct and go from lists that I’ve got all over my little office 😊 and I don’t think you will be disappointed with the song I’ve put the link 😊 th-cam.com/video/jkLXOWimMY8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=NW50tRd3XN79sSu-
"He's in prayer at the moment." That. Exactly. Dan's faith is extremely important to him and I do believe that, in those few words, you captured the essence.
Thanks so much for sharing your insightful reaction to this stellar performance from Dan Vasc. He is a very powerful and inspiring vocalist who covers many different genres of music. Would be wonderful if you could give your thoughts on his version of “Adeste Fideles” as it’s almost Christmas, it’s another powerful rendition of this traditional Christmas hymn sung in Latin. 🎵🌟🎶
Hi Carol .. Saturday the 23rd for “Adeste Fideles” I think your right it’s an opportunity to look at this hymn in context of the season and I’m taking my break from that day until the 7th January .. so a nice way to celebrate 😊
Thanks for this reaction! I have been waiting for you to react to Dan again. If you want to see him staring into the camera, he actually does this in most of his songs. I’d say try “Burn Butcher Burn”, “I’ll Make a Man out of you”, or “Bring me to Life” as they are good examples. And yes, you are correct, this man does nothing by accident. Everything is deliberate and thought through thoroughly. Thanks for the background on Amazing Grace as well, it’s always nice to learn something new…❤️
Now that’s an offer to listen and learn something new 😊 one I can’t resist and I’m looking forward to .. so much diversity I’m excited .. and you are welcome, I did know the back round to this ( now song / hymn ) I’m just always looking to what I can share and learn 😊👍
If you’re at all interested in reacting to one of his Christmas covers (in the spirit of the season), my favourite is “Adeste Fidelis”. And he will release a new one before Christmas as well…
Your reaction was one of my favorites, and I've watched MANY!! You said it all... especially when you said he was in prayer... I totally agree!! Dan is amazing! I am a PK (Preacher's Kid) and was in church in utero. My family is also very musical. I play several instruments and sing. I've heard this performed in hundreds (if not thousands) of ways throughout my lifetime. My beloved Granny played the harmonica beautiful and as a teenager at family gatherings, we'd gatger around the piano (which I played) and would sing as she played harmonica and I played piano and this gives me chills EVERY SINGLE TIME I hear it! I try to listen to it once a day if not more! It is, IMHO, the hands-down best version ever performed. I feel like all of Heaven stopped to listen! I also believe that Dan was meant to sing this song "for such a time as this ". When the world grows darker and more tumultuous by the day/hourI can't wait to sing this in Heaven together to our Heavenly Father!! Until then, stay blessed! 👑✝️❤️🌎👨👩👧👧🐑☝🏼💪🏾⚓️🪨🏰⛰️🛡🗡📖🙏🏻🛐🎶🙌🧂🕯💧🔥🕊 #AmazingLove #AmazingGrace #GodIsGood #forgiven #redeemed #JesusSaves #John316 #DanVasc #VascNation

You nailed it...Prayer From the moment he puts the harmonica to his lips you can tell, he's starting to go inside himself, and from there he goes further and further inside, and GOD, the power he pulls out from those depths - that's true prayer right there. And the journey he takes us on...
Love your assessment of this performance. I agree that he is singing In Praise! Would you be interested in reviewing the acoustic version of Lock Lomond by his Spyglass Inn 'label' with Dan and Gabriel Belozi? It is soft and gentle and with the harmonica, and I'd like to know what you think. Thank you.
Isn’t he just phenomenal? I love watching people react with such surprise and joy. I think he’s the best, most complete, and most versatile male singer around. I look forward to your continuing journey with Dan. It’s really hard to grasp the scope of his talent after just a few examples, but for your next try I would suggest I’ll Make a Man out of You from Milan, or Burn Butcher Burn. Each is a tour-de-force of singing, acting, and presentation. But anything you want, Dan can do - plenty of rock and metal, but also folk, Broadway, opera (a very respectable Nessun Dorma), and Christmas. I LOVE Angels We Have Heard on High. (If you watch it, the choir behind him is all him.) The one-man Hallelujah Chorus is mind-boggling and terrific. But you can’t go wrong. Thanks for the reaction and discussion. Subbed for more Dan. Happy Holidays!
Great comments. I can't think of too much more to add really. There are many, many of his performances that he looks into the camera. Brace yourself. Lol. Your reaction was spot on. I'm looking forward to more of your reactions to Dan. He's a treasure.❤
Pammie, it’s so much easier to enjoy an artist when the time I spend is rewarded by the song and then by all the kind and very informative comments by everyone ( like yourself ) who is gracious enough to both listen and feedback 😎
@@alan-reacts65 You are always respectful and informative. It would be great if other reactors would figure out what people are tuning into see and hear. I have to admit that I channel surf around for my favorite artists and I am a loyal VascNation follower also Falling in Reverse as well as Tommy Johanssen. I was thinking about videos that Dan really zeros into the camera. A couple of songs came to mind.. "I'm Sexy and I Know It" and I think it's called "In Your Eyes". Buckle up. 😁
Dan received that harmonica from his dad when he was 7 or so and he's played it in Loch Lomond too. His dad passed in 2017 so it's special to him as is this song because it was one of his dad's favorites. Thanks for your reaction!!
your reaction was great! i used to say the bagpipe version was the best, until now. Dan's rendition is truly the best. Being a Christian he truly poured his heart and soul into this.
Really appreciated your reaction! I feel like Dan’s version of this song touches my soul. He does such an amazingly beautiful job. I’ve become a huge Dan Vasc fan and really enjoy a wide range of his songs. I would love to hear you react to Sound of Silence, Over the Hills and Far Away, Angels We Have Heard on High and Adeste Fideles…just to name a few!
Margi, thank you for your kind words and I’m hoping that everyone will enjoy the Dan reactions that are definitely going to come .. my next one is a collaboration recommended in the comments today .. oh and with no joke I have about 25 written down that have been both recommended and or requested by everyone 😊
I thank you for your reaction to Dan.. I think that this version brings out the Praise and Passion that the writer intended to convey at seeing the Grace and the Light, for the first time, not to be solemn but to be joyous of course 250 years ago that would perhaps not have gone down well shall we say with polite society.. the Harmonica would have been as the bagpipes the instrument of the lower classes in society, very fitting.. Dan did serve in the military in Brazil and since then has followed his calling of music and he sees in his minds eye, exactly how he wants the finished product to be.. Looking forwards to more of your insight into Dan's covers too. Happy Christmas to you all
I love the way you infer “ polite society “ knowing as we do now ! It most certainly wasn’t 😊 Sue , I think you can be assured with such a diverse discography I will continue to both listen and share my DV journey 😊
This was a wonderful reaction, sir. I really enjoyed traveling along with you, throughout. The first reaction I heard was back on April 9, 2023--just two days after the song surfaced on TH-cam. I fell in love with it then, and am still in love with it (and Dan). I know EXACTLY what you mean about the prayer, AND about the military version. I'm SO glad you brought that up. If you go find the IL Divo version of this song, where they sang it in an old castle setting, you'll see where Dan's whole layout for this version basically came from. The video I've seen, is called: "IL DIVO - Amazing Grace (Live Video)." It's similar to their layout, but WAY more powerful, and though there were four of them singing, Dan's ONE voice outdoes them all. It's quite fascinating, though, to compare the two videos (at least it is, for me). I subbed, and will be back for more. Thank you!
I didn’t get chance to say December 23rd 😊😂 but on a serious note , thank you so much for both your kind words and your knowledge share , to be honest , I’m a little overwhelmed ( in a good way )at just how encouraging everyone had been and hopefully I don’t let you all down in this journey 😊
I know I'm late, and others have pretty much said everything already. But I'm a big fan of Dan, and I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful reaction to Dan's flawless and versatile rendition of "Amazing Grace".
He is so amazing ❤love you Dan Vasc. In watchingg you sing, that iss your happy place, as your eyes haave such a spaarkle when you sing. God bless. Please keep singing.❤
Great reaction. I subscribed to your channel after your reaction to Gethsemane. Also appreciate the historical knowledge and comparisons you bring to the reaction. Welcome to Vasc Nation.
Loved your reaction! You were quite "leaned in" to this wonderful version. I really like your split screen and zoom in also! I haven't seen that elsewhere.
I’d love to take credit for the editing , but I’m ok at editing but I pay an editor ( my brother) we get together and he tweaks my ideas .. the content is all me 😊 thank you I will definitely pass on your kind words 😊
Hi Alan! I loved your reaction and your words about Dan. When you stopped the vídeo and said: " here he is playing ", it was beautiful. I'm very proud of this boy. Please, Alan, listen Scaborought Fair and Adeste Fidelis and Handel's Halleluiah and... 😊 Thank you ! ❤ Rio-Brazil
Thank you for your reaction to this lovely song. At the end the music fell out for me, which was a shame for the last real metal part. Also, I would really appreciate it if you go back a few seconds when you stop. Now the pauzes are in the middle of notes or at the beginning of a phrase. It makes it hard to get into the song 😊 I’ll be here for more Dan reactions😊
Hi Angel , that’s good advice about going back just a few seconds after I’ve paused .. it’s sometimes difficult when I genuinely haven’t heard a song .. but I will pay more attention. Thank you ☺️
Excellent reaction! Dan just absolutely nailed this song! Since it is December, if you haven't done them already, reactions to his covers of Angels We Have Heard On High and Adestes Fideles would be greatly appreciated!
I really, really enjoyed watching your enjoyment of hearing Dans version. Your reaction was awesome! Hoping you check out more from Dan. He is an awesome artist! 🎶🎶
I remember the ‘71 version it is such a moving piece of music, honestly I do prefer females vocals to this song but this was a powerful rendition that deserves to be heard so thanks for sharing
This song popped up on my phone two o’clock in the night 01.01.24. I was not in a good mood because I was going to drive my son to the airport cause he was going to New York. And it was a blizzard outside. It had come nearly one meters with snow in only two hours. I listened to the song five times and it changed my mood completely. And that’s what Dan Vasc does to me. He makes me in good mood and gives me power every day. He is a Christian and I love that. But he has a very sweet soul and is the funniest guy. I just love his voice his soul and of course he is good looking. Thank you Sir for your reaction. Love from Norway.🇳🇴 ❤
Loved your reaction. Do I love everything Dan Vasc does? No. Almost everything, and the ones I do not care for have more to do with the songs or rather the lyrics than Dan's performance of them. I even like the instrumental portion of those. I think I have heard almost his entire catalog. Dan's voice is unique. I will continue forward with you, because I like your reactions.
And I will be honest if I like the performance but not the song so much ! I will say .. not to offend fans but to be honest .. I’ve made videos and realised the artist doesn’t have depth beyond 1 or 2 songs , so it stays at that .. if that makes sense ? Thank you I appreciate honest feedback and thoughts 😊
My Dan Vasc reaction list for you is as follows: The Last Goodbye, The Last Stand, KISS from A Rose, The Song of the White Wolf, Tears of the Dragon, Sleeping Sun, Dawn of a New World. This will give you a good start.
Jesus Christ Superstar was a musical production. Waatch it sometime. That an Hair,, but produced and one of the directors, John Michael Tebelac. He died quite young, unfortunately. He was my drama partner in high school.

Great Reaction
All of them by Dan Vasc are epic.
A magnificently powerful performance, delivered with utmost respect!❤❤ Thank you for your informative thoughts. Hoping for more Dan reactions😃
Margi, thank you for your kind words and I’m hoping that everyone will enjoy the Dan reactions that are definitely going to come .. my next one is a collaboration recommended in the comments today .. oh and with no joke I have about 25 written down that have been both recommended and or requested by everyone 😊
@@alan-reacts65 👌👏😃
@@alan-reacts65 I'm absolutely sure you won't. 😀
I know I'm late, and others have pretty much said everything already. But I'm a big fan of Dan, and I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful reaction to Dan's flawless and versatile rendition of "Amazing Grace".
I agree- he was in prayer- that was his personnel testimony!
He is so amazing ❤love you Dan Vasc. In watchingg you sing, that iss your happy place, as your eyes haave such a spaarkle when you sing. God bless. Please keep singing.❤
It’s just a soul lifting hymn I can’t resist 😊👍
This is my favorite rendition EVER OF AMAZING GRACE ✌❤ AND LOVE HIS SHIRT DON'T TREAD ON ME!!!!!!!
I loved the shirt and the song 😊
Thank you for your Reaction, more Dan please!
23rd December 😊
@@alan-reacts65 OMG! That's my B-day, will be 62 and still loving life! Can't wait, best gift Ever, Dan Vasc doing Dan Vascary! Love you!

Ultimate respect for you, Alan. Top notch!
I’m genuinely so grateful ☺️
Seeing it's the Christmas season, you should hear his ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH. another one of a kind rendition!
Joy 😊 December 23rd ( popular request ) I will be sharing my reaction and analysis to “ Adeste Fidelis “ I hope everyone enjoys 👍
Great reaction. I subscribed to your channel after your reaction to Gethsemane. Also appreciate the historical knowledge and comparisons you bring to the reaction. Welcome to Vasc Nation.
I think I had no choice in joining Vasc Nation , you are all just so honest and kind 😊🙏🏻
Thank you ! ❤ Rio-Brazil
Maristela , 23rd December as my last video before Christmas is going to be “ adeste fidelis” a Latin hymn to wish all a happy Xmas 😊
Merry Christmas,Alan! ❤
Merry Christmas 🤶 😊
Thank you for your reaction to this lovely song. At the end the music fell out for me, which was a shame for the last real metal part. Also, I would really appreciate it if you go back a few seconds when you stop. Now the pauzes are in the middle of notes or at the beginning of a phrase. It makes it hard to get into the song 😊 I’ll be here for more Dan reactions😊
Hi Angel , that’s good advice about going back just a few seconds after I’ve paused .. it’s sometimes difficult when I genuinely haven’t heard a song .. but I will pay more attention. Thank you ☺️
I love your reaction sweet man God bless you sir.😅
😊
Excellent reaction! Dan just absolutely nailed this song!
Since it is December, if you haven't done them already, reactions to his covers of Angels We Have Heard On High and Adestes Fideles would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you Josia for your kind words 😊 December 23rd “Adeste Fidelis” I hope you enjoy 😎
Looking forward to it,
I really, really enjoyed watching your enjoyment of hearing Dans version. Your reaction was awesome! Hoping you check out more from Dan. He is an awesome artist! 🎶🎶
Hi Cheryia, thank you for your kind words , December 23rd “ Adeste Fidelis” I hope you enjoy
I remember the ‘71 version it is such a moving piece of music, honestly I do prefer females vocals to this song but this was a powerful rendition that deserves to be heard so thanks for sharing
Honest thoughts are what keeps the channel balanced 😊 and the 71 pipes version is very moving I agree 😊👍
Dan Vasc is amazing. He can sing opera, do covers, often better than the original.
A Christian with a sweet soul and a gentle sense of humour 😊 and Dan Vasc 😊🙏🏻
Many thanks
I love your thoughtful reactions. You actually have commentary isn't just "wow that was great". Thank you for substance to your reactions!
If we’re honest , don’t most of us enjoy a song and then later think why 😊
Dan is Awesome 😊😊🇧🇷🇧🇷
Dan has depth! We have a long way to go. 😂@@alan-reacts65
@user-dl7kh4ke8h 😳😂👍
I just love your smile.❤
Thank you ☺️
My Dan Vasc reaction list for you is as follows: The Last Goodbye, The Last Stand, KISS from A Rose, The Song of the White Wolf, Tears of the Dragon, Sleeping Sun, Dawn of a New World. This will give you a good start.
Noted and respect and furthermore really appreciate the support and kindness 😊😎👍
Jesus Christ Superstar was a musical production. Waatch it sometime. That an Hair,, but produced and one of the directors, John Michael Tebelac. He died quite young, unfortunately. He was my drama partner in high school.
Peggy 😊 I will watch them both , having read your shared story, and the link it will add something interesting to why I’m watching them , apart from fact “ I just should “ thank you for sharing this with us 😊😎
🙂👍👍🔥🔥🔥
Good reaction.i could see you were moved by the song. You are the first person who understood why the harmonica should bevthere. It does sound a like bag pipes. Dan;s versio is so good.
Thank you for your kind words 😊
Check out the video for Enigma The Return To innocence. They are different but that one song and video is great. You won't be disappointed.
Noted and saved 😊🙏🏻

Very nice reaction, but what happened to your sound at 7:04 to the end of the song?
Sometimes their are very minor audio glitches I can’t always hear them so apologies 😊
