Great video, but. These kinds of tests don't make much sense in modern society, IMHO. Here are some arguments for why I think that is: 1) In the modern world we have apps such as Grammarly, you can also google for stuff if you don't know the answers - so we are being severely undervalued on writing/reading skills (if a person is digitally literate of course). 2) Many times the test is actually testing your working memory rather than your language skills - it resembles the IQ test at times. It also tests your ability to think under stress - some people may severely underperform because of all of these factors. In a nutshell, the test fails to disentangle all of these factors. 3) People like me who have public artifacts (I have a TH-cam channel, a Medium blog, etc.) still have to take the test and pay 280$, like really? I would much rather have a person with public artifacts than a person who had a decent test score, which may not necessarily translate to actual language skills. All in all, this whole approach needs to be modernized. Feels like 20th-century bureaucratic mumbo-jumbo. And I hate it. Also, I worked for Microsoft for almost 3 years, and I recently got a job at Google in London but I still have to take the test. Again, really? The company is paying it for me but still, it's a question of principle. The thing just doesn't make any sense. I'm waiting for a startup to disrupt this whole system. This obviously doesn't have anything to do with you guys. Thank you for the video and sorry for the "rant".
Very appreciative of this excellent and helpful material. But I must say I feel you add an unnecessary amount of complex/technical vocabulary to your descriptions, ie subtext/complex sentence/subordinate clauses, which for many learners might be disconcerting and I imagine is purposed to have the overall effect of encouraging them to pay for your services.
I came across this video 3 days before my exam. After finding it extremely helpful, I checked out the mock exam video and eventually, all other videos by Jay. I got my result today and I received 90 in all bands. I couldn't have achieved those marks without these videos. Thank you so much!

@@clerinphilip2301 Hi! Unfortunately, I haven't taken the IELTS exam. I took PTE because most of my friends and colleagues recommended it over IELTS. According to them, PTE is easier since it is Computer Based. However, it still depends on which exam your comfortable with. Hoping you get yours done soon! Goodluck!

Hi Akshay! Thank you and yes I'm feeling much better having crossed the first hurdle :) The first step I took to prepare for PTE was to quickly understand 20 different question types, practice 5-6 questions on each type and making a list of sections where I need to really put in the effort. Then I booked my exam date giving me 1 month to prepare (this may vary as per your self-assessment and your professional workload). Booking the exam date is the key which kept me motivated. So I dedicated my energies to the sections which I need to work on the most. This included watching videos from Jay again and again so that the exam pattern and the solution methods are etched in my memory. I used many online websites which provide free practice materials to just practice-practice-practice until I felt confident. Lastly, just a week before the real exam I took the PTE mock test (you can opt E2 mock test too as it includes assessment and feedback) to get the feel of the real exam while sitting two and a half hours in front of the computer screen. The results showed me if I am ready for the real test or shall I postpone in case I need more time. In conclusion, I would encourage you to assess your strong and weak areas by reviewing exam pattern first and then set a goal and work towards it. Practice is the key to success here. So do plenty of it for each and every question type, even though you find yourself strong in certain types during self-assessment. Hello Jay, I went through your course material and videos and took the PTE in September. I got perfect scores in Writing, Listening and Speaking and 89 in Reading in my first attempt. Your course is awesome and really appreciate your work with all the materials made available.
@Jagjeet Kaur I would gladly help you. 1. First understand each section and types of questions you get from them. For this, go through the PTE website and note down each section and each question type in a notepad. It is very important you know exactly how the exam is structured. 2. Go through the videos by E2 PTE to understand what each of these sections contains. 3. Purchase Platinum Test Kit from PTE Gurus. Write as much mock test as possible to get complete understanding of the type of questions. Do not worry about the scores you get there. I consistently got not more than 73 overall in all of 7 or 8 mock tests I took. 4. From the PTE website purchase their official mock test kit. They have 2 mock tests. You can take up the test after you are very familiar with the test pattern. 5. In the Speaking Section, be confident, loud and clear while speaking. Even if there is slight mistake, it does not matter. I am sure I did some mistakes but still I got 90 in Speaking as I was confident and clear in speaking. E2 has got good suggestions, please follow their videos. 6. Writing and Listening is based on your grammar knowledge and your ability to understand the question and formulate your answers in Essay and Summarize sections and also in Fill in the blanks and select words. I can tell you, I might have made mistakes in these sections too but as long as your mistakes are too less, your chances of scoring more are great. 7. Reading, I got 89 in this. Again, it is based on your grammar knowledge and how well you can answer the questions. You have to ensure you have understood the test pattern and manage time for each section. Time will run fast during the test. The key is to practice and know each section very well. Hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have any questions. I am happy to help.
@Jagjeet Kaur You can just follow E2 videos. I would recommend you to go through all of their videos related to the PTE test first on you tube. Get familiar with the test pattern and type of questions. It always be on the back of your mind. Once you have done all that, take few mock tests from PTE Gurus. If you are scoring 65+ in all sections in the PTE Gurus test, then you are good to take the Official PTE mock test. You should be able to get 65+ in all. If you are having trouble getting the required score, then you can purchase their online course too where one of the E2 faculty will assist you online with the test. For me, Jay's videos were enough and I spent 3 -4 weeks before I took the exam itself. All the very best with your preparation and the test. Feel free to let me know if you need any more help.

Hi Jay this is my PTE Experience! I recently booked for a PTE test on the 21st of January 2020. I chose to take the exam 3 days after, which was the 24th of January 2020. I did not know anything at all or what to expect. I then stumbled upon this video, and I just watched it once and it gave me a clear understanding of how the PTE is organised and how the interface looks like. In the exam, I stammered a little on one reading paragraph, I also made some mistakes with describing image, but i kept going. Re- telling story was tough for me as well. I knew already Retelling story and describing image would be hard for me! lol. I wrote my essay using your style and format. The other questions were tough as well, but i am a bit strong at writing skills than speaking skills. I got my results today, just after a day! I GOT AN OVERALL SCORE OF 70 and all i needed was a 53. (Breakdown of score: Listening 72, Reading 68, Speaking 69, Writing 73) Lesson learnt: Be confident, pay attention, keep going, don't over think it. Thank you to E2language, and Jay's video here in TH-cam. I studied a month (on the weekends, 1 - 2 hours) before the test day, and 2 days intensively with some mock test before the test day. I got my desired scores, all bands are 81 and above. The new format of retell lecture is with video, there are pros and cons to it, I got shocked a bit and distracted with the visuals. and did not managed to finish the Short Answer Question at the end of first section, as time was up. But surprisingly all good!
Thank God I finally passed my PTE EXAMS ON MY 5th attempt with the help of Mr DAVID, I used his preparation tips. just 3 days of working with him and I passed. I was referred to him by a friend before my exams. Please friends I recommend you to mr DAVID. The man has the key to getting your exam.

I took pte exam for two years back, i learned the one important thing is not to take pte test when we were not good at speak like native USA or not good at pronunciation. I suggest to all to take IELTS.

Unfortunately I did not write IELTS Academic UKVI and the IELTS Academic certificate I possess is not accepted for Visa processing in my country if you are going for work overseas apart from Nursing profession. The exam itself is quite difficult, but the PTE AI scores with leniency. You will feel frustration from the day you start studying until the day of your exam, but you will get a higher score than you expect. Achieving a score of 90 in all bands is possible by following the teachings from E2 Prep's excellent instructors and taking mock tests daily in a noisy setting. Be sure to watch all the super method/ super strategy videos.

Hi Jay I have been living in Austrlia for last 7 years, I was asked to take an English test and i had two options ilets academic to score 7 in each element and 7.5 total or Teofl IBT to score 25 in each element and 110 in total. anyway I did study ielts for few weeks and then switched to Toefl and one day I relaised I did a mistake. to achieved target score in teofl I have to get 29 , 29 speaking and listening and 27 reading and 25 in writing. my little town does not have ielts so I have beening thinking to take PTE if did not get my Toefl score . I have until 31 of July2022 to submit my English test results. please help !!!!!

Hi Akshay! Thank you and yes I'm feeling much better having crossed the first hurdle :)
The first step I took to prepare for PTE was to quickly understand 20 different question types, practice 5-6 questions on each type and making a list of sections where I need to really put in the effort. Then I booked my exam date giving me 1 month to prepare (this may vary as per your self-assessment and your professional workload). Booking the exam date is the key which kept me motivated.
So I dedicated my energies to the sections which I need to work on the most. This included watching videos from Jay again and again so that the exam pattern and the solution methods are etched in my memory. I used many online websites which provide free practice materials to just practice-practice-practice until I felt confident.
Lastly, just a week before the real exam I took the PTE mock test (you can opt E2 mock test too as it includes assessment and feedback) to get the feel of the real exam while sitting two and a half hours in front of the computer screen. The results showed me if I am ready for the real test or shall I postpone in case I need more time.
In conclusion, I would encourage you to assess your strong and weak areas by reviewing exam pattern first and then set a goal and work towards it. Practice is the key to success here. So do plenty of it for each and every question type, even though you find yourself strong in certain types during self-assessment. WATH ALL VIDEOS FROM JAY MULTIPLE TIMES :) :) :)

I went through your course material and videos and took the PTE in September.
I got perfect scores in Writing, Listening and Speaking and 89 in Reading in my first attempt.
Your course is awesome and really appreciate your work with all the materials made available.

1. First understand each section and types of questions you get from them. For this, go through the PTE website and note down each section and each question type in a notepad. It is very important you know exactly how the exam is structured.
2. Go through the videos by E2 PTE to understand what each of these sections contains.
3. Purchase Platinum Test Kit from PTE Gurus. Write as much mock test as possible to get complete understanding of the type of questions. Do not worry about the scores you get there. I consistently got not more than 73 overall in all of 7 or 8 mock tests I took.
4. From the PTE website purchase their official mock test kit. They have 2 mock tests.
You can take up the test after you are very familiar with the test pattern.
5. In the Speaking Section, be confident, loud and clear while speaking. Even if there is slight mistake, it does not matter. I am sure I did some mistakes but still I got 90 in Speaking as I was confident and clear in speaking. E2 has got good suggestions, please follow their videos.
6. Writing and Listening is based on your grammar knowledge and your ability to understand the question and formulate your answers in Essay and Summarize sections and also in Fill in the blanks and select words. I can tell you, I might have made mistakes in these sections too but as long as your mistakes are too less, your chances of scoring more are great.
7. Reading, I got 89 in this. Again, it is based on your grammar knowledge and how well you can answer the questions.
You have to ensure you have understood the test pattern and manage time for each section. Time will run fast during the test.
The key is to practice and know each section very well.

I would recommend you to go through all of their videos related to the PTE test first on you tube. Get familiar with the test pattern and type of questions. It always be on the back of your mind. Once you have done all that, take few mock tests from PTE Gurus. If you are scoring 65+ in all sections in the PTE Gurus test, then you are good to take the Official PTE mock test. You should be able to get 65+ in all.
If you are having trouble getting the required score, then you can purchase their online course too where one of the E2 faculty will assist you online with the test.
For me, Jay's videos were enough and I spent 3 -4 weeks before I took the exam itself.

Hi Jay this is my PTE Experience! I recently booked for a PTE test on the 21st of January 2020. I chose to take the exam 3 days after, which was the 24th of January 2020. I did not know anything at all or what to expect. I then stumbled upon this video, and I just watched it once and it gave me a clear understanding of how the PTE is organised and how the interface looks like. In the exam, I stammered a little on one reading paragraph, I also made some mistakes with describing image, but i kept going. Re- telling story was tough for me as well. I knew already Retelling story and describing image would be hard for me! lol. I wrote my essay using your style and format. The other questions were tough as well, but i am a bit strong at writing skills than speaking skills. I got my results today, just after a day! I GOT AN OVERALL SCORE OF 70 and all i needed was a 53. (Breakdown of score: Listening 72, Reading 68, Speaking 69, Writing 73) Lesson learnt: Be confident, pay attention, keep going, don't over think it. THANK YOU TO YOU JAY, YOUR ARE TEACHING VERY ACCURATE STUFF! WITHOUT THIS VIDEO, I WAS'NT GOING TO GET A GOOD SCORE!!

Thank you to E2language, and Jay's video here in TH-cam. I studied a month (on the weekends, 1 - 2 hours) before the test day, and 2 days intensively with some mock test before the test day. I got my desired scores, all bands are 81 and above. The new format of retell lecture is with video, there are pros and cons to it, I got shocked a bit and distracted with the visuals. and did not managed to finish the Short Answer Question at the end of first section, as time was up. But surprisingly all good!

How much is this test valid?
I took pte exam for two years back, i learned the one important thing is not to take pte test when we were not good at speak like native USA or not good at pronunciation. I suggest to all to take IELTS.

The exam itself is quite difficult, but the PTE AI scores with leniency. You will feel frustration from the day you start studying until the day of your exam, but you will get a higher score than you expect. Achieving a score of 90 in all bands is possible by following the teachings from E2 Prep's excellent instructors and taking mock tests daily in a noisy setting. Be sure to watch all the super method/ super strategy videos.

Hi Jay I have been living in Austrlia for last 7 years, I was asked to take an English test and i had two options ilets academic to score 7 in each element and 7.5 total or Teofl IBT to score 25 in each element and 110 in total. anyway I did study ielts for few weeks and then switched to Toefl and one day I relaised I did a mistake. to achieved target score in teofl I have to get 29 , 29 speaking and listening and 27 reading and 25 in writing. my little town does not have ielts so I have beening thinking to take PTE if did not get my Toefl score . I have until 31 of July2022 to submit my English test results. please help !!!!!
