It's comforting to know there are other human beings that are just as ate up with this group and the incredible virtuosity they brought to the table.i now know I'm not alone.thank you.
I know I cannot pick a favorite band...but if I HAD to it would be the Dregs. For the last 45+ years. On top of the astounding virtuosity, the music is fun and clever. It always makes me smile. I met Steve Morse briefly several times and he was always humble and down to earth.
Was lucky enough to see this version of the band a number of times in the NY/NJ area. Always a fantastic show. The Bash was the song that made your hair stand on end.
This is from The Tom Snyder show called "The Tomorrow Show" 1981 after Johnny Carson and the Tonight Show I recorded it on the old Betamax back in the day
I hate to say it. I see no cords coming from instruments. 1981 did not possess the tech. I love the band and all of their extraordinary musicianship, but I can't tell if it's actually live.
So at 2:08, what's that hanging from Steve's guitar? You're not very bright, are you? I saw the Dregs about 30 times, and I can assure you that this is LIVE.
@@cornfilledscreamer614 Easy Cheezy! Dang! all you had to say is, "due to the poor quality of this post of this VCR video, it is hard to notice the cords but, you can catch a glimpse of them around 2:08...", so you are correct and I was mistaken, and I have edited my comment, and "Yes. I am very 'bright', thank you."
it is 2020, there is still no band that can match this band, regardless of the incarnation. Dregs Rule!
No one comes close to Steve's ability to compose instrumentals.
@@Telepkr Even the solos in Dregs' songs were amazing compositions.

No one mentions Andy West's fantastic bassline....

Andy's playing a fantastic bassline!

Yes! I saw them at a club in Cherry Hill in the summer of 1980. Such a great show!
Wow and wow a brief shout out to Mark he could just play with anybody.sometimes it's the notes you don't play.hes good at that.what a band.
Monster live performance. Monster.
Actually, The Tomorrow Show, hosted by Tom Snyder. It was a great place to find bands that weren't in the mainstream of the day.
Saw this tour in Vancouver and in Orlando. Incredible.
Still shredding on this
No. Ritchie Blackmore couldn't do that on his very best day.

"So what's so great about the Dregs?" "_Chops!_ They have more in their little fingers than your band has in its whole body! Listen and learn."
Ya got that right
They asked recently to Alex Lifeson “ Who’s your favorite guitarist “? He responded simply :” Steve Morse “. 😊❤
Steve Morse just as good then as now
Yes! Let the music do the talking.
Haha! Just seen that you can use two hands to do fast pentatonic keyboard runs! Never even occurred to me….so much easier…I’m an idiot.
One custom Telecaster !
How cool was Tom Snyder to have these guys on.
Awesome - two of my favourite Dregs tracks! I had no idea these vids existed. Thanks for uploading!
Bons tempos...
Ha! Left Over Grits would have been a good name, too.
Saw yhem with Sea level doing this❤
Props to Mr Snyder for the guest spot.
SMOKE !!!!!💨
those are humans, playing instruments - don't see that much anymore
Not to knock Mark Conner but Allen Sloan (who left the band to earn an MD) is still my favourite.
Insane. Saw em twice. My hair was burned off.
fucking awesome
Steve rules
YES...!! and the BAND RULES. "the DREGS"
w or w/o "the DIXIE" Style Titled Name
Crank It Up!!!
What did the other paper sign say? I couldn't read it.
That's obviously not Allan Sloane. Who is it?
Mark O'Connor!
ROD IS GOD !!! #iykyk
